FOOLS ! Can you not see that the intent of the vile acts were to change our way of life! Can you not see that THEY have been victorious in that effort and that with all the might of our society we have FAILED to prevent that change! This person was never tried in a court of law. This person as a citizen of this nation has had that right since birth. This citizen is innocent until proven guilty. I for one believe him to be guilty, but that has not been proven to me and until it has he is entitled to the protection of the law. If the law is not obeyed by the governments then there is no point in the law, the purpose of society is in question and the legitimacy of government becomes a moot point. We will have been DEFEATED by the original purpose and terrorism shall reign all of the world.

The need is to "fix" government so that our children are not buried in tax debt and are made to kowtow to partisan politics.

Look folks, the answer is available. It cannot be found within a partisan framework that simply cannot work for everyone. Yet an independent representative can and does work for everyone. The politicians need to be made accountable and they need to be made to work in our best interests. We need to be able to elect a leader. We need term limits to public office instead of career animals at the public trough. We need recall legislation to handle bad politicians. We need citizen referendums binding on government in order to have the will of the people heard by government. This nation needs many things in addition to the daily business of running government and exactly how that is done. We have the means to define and limit the powers and authorities of government and we need to use it to clean up the mess we have allowed to be made by wanton self-interested politicians.

Which is why the flaws of pure capitalism have been made very public. The interest of the corporation and the citizen are very clear.

Government is very aware of how business works. They need to in order to get elected. Lets not even go to where without business there simply isn't enough money to run a campaign. Set aside the fact that there is no such thing as a poor retired politician. Just ignore the fact that when this was a nation of hewers of wood and drawers of water virtually devoid of manufacturing that business funded 80% of the tax load and citizens 20%, and now that has been completely reversed. Please do keep in mind that since we have been converted into the modern consuming nation that the greatest impact on the economy has been consumer spending and that taxes detract from disposable household income. Do keep in mind that there is more than one kind of tax placed on citizens, and that all kinds of taxes have adverse impact on citizens. Remember that we are in the grips of recession and a downturn in employment, and that citizens dollars are what make this country run in virtually all ways. Having said all of this, is it not clear that there is but one area of agreement amongst citizens and that is our hatred of taxes. Is it not clear the government pits the interests of citizens against business in the name of balance and that balance is out of whack for all to see? The entire tax system is crap and nothing but.

The real point here is that of the cost of energy isn't it? I mean really expensive stuff like nuke power or alternative energies are way outside of the loop for big oil. Darn! Its time to start thinking about the problem seriously.

It has rightly been said that business will benefit from this new form of taxation, isn't that wonderful! Once again the citizen gets screwed and business gets a nice little break. All in the name of doing the right thing for the economy. That ploy has been well rooted in our political system, it is the very mantra our governments have been preaching to citizens. Oddly some believe it to be true.

Sure, fire the guys in office. All of them and elect nothing but independents. Let the show begin! They will have several options, all but one of those would violate the campaign promises to represent their constituents. The only solution is a coalition government, with all members party to. The best and brightest becomes the Prime Minister. He will be the guy able to bring people together. After that it is a freeforall with a one man one vote basis for legislative purposes.

I simply can't understand why honouring the fallen creates such controversy. Those folks gave their lives for out nation and our citizens. WE owe them far more than we can ever repay.

Those candidates that you seek are independent. Accountable to the voters instead of partisan pecking orders. they reflect the will of the people. Most people are REAL Conservatives not party hacks.

Perhaps its finally time to start talking about our constitution. The only rights we have are defined in that document. In my view it is not our rights that need to be altered but instead the powers and authority of government.
