Why there is immigration (a real look)
mikedavid00 replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yes I have done research and you have not. I meant to say ~70% are family sponsorship and the majoriry of immigrants are from poorer or 3rd world countries. Do your reasearch =) Yes I don't agree with FTA either. Regardless, it still more detremental to let in the amount that we are than the FTA agreement which resulted in a period of suffering that we have gotten over. While one industry closed, new ones open. Same thing happened with US farmers in the 80's. What we CANNOT sustain is an artificial, needless, saturation of supply in our job market. As far as unemployment goes, India's is lower than ours. It's the QUALITY of jobs and wages that matter. We need more white-collar, higher income jobs in Canada that are NOT gov't jobs. We need to have a student graduating to be able to pick and choose what company they are goign to work at - not work at the bank or in a call center. When is the last time you heard American's complaining that Mexican's are taking their jobs? They don't complain about that because they aren't taking jobs. They are filling a labor market that no one else wants to work. American's don't 'seeing them' all over the place and taking over their neighbourhoods. We have the latter problem AND our precious and few middle income jobs are being taken away or devalued into low paying jobs. The reason why we have a country and borders with citizens is for selfish reasons - so that we can live in the lap of luxury and enjoy our potentials. I get angry when aliens from other countries come here and jepordize that. I do not like seing true Canadians with degree's working in a call center or as a bank teller living in a 1400 sq. foot detatched house because their pay is so low. I don't like seeing 460 sq ft. condo's worth $180,000 because there is such an influx of people coming into Toronto. I don't liike seeing a Canadian graduating from high-school with 80% marks being told that their GPA is too low to get into biology or engineering because of the rediculously high rate of gifted internation students entering these programs and preventing Canadians from getting an eductation. I don't like hearing stories of a co-worker waiting 22 hours in the emergancy room when his wife had a misscarage just so a 'tribes' of immigrants speeaking other languages were waiting in emergency for their kids with runny noses. I don't like living in a neighbourhood where people are buying houses they cannot afford and renovating the basement with 4 cars in teh parking lot and 2 families in the house which drives bubbles up our realestate and prevents young Canadians from purchasing a half decent home. And you know what - OUR GOV'T IS DOING THIS TO US, THE AVERAGE CANDADIAN, OVER POLITICAL POWER AND VOTES AND IT SERIOUSLY P*SSIS ME OFF. -
Why there is immigration (a real look)

True. You do have to admit as for as the Chinese head tax, there are stilll people alive and breathing who have paid the head tax. I think the Liberals were too afraid to do anything about it because they felt they would have to give out money to all ethnic communities so did as they do best - waffle around the issue. You are just regurgitating what the CBC and liberal party wants you to think. Have you done any solid research into this issue? I thought not. Again, you have not done any solid research on this. There is a *smalll* need for workers for a *small* category of jobs, in a *small* number of provinces. However, there is no need for 250,000 poeple to ghettoize into Toronto and Vancouver with 70% being sponsored in and from 3rd world countries. Please, tell me when this fabled baby boomer massive retirement is going to happen. You know, the same one we've been talking about for 15 years now since I was a almost a kid and that has never happened and won't ever because it's 1 - a myth 2 - an excuse 3 - wishful thinking. Yes there is work. There's work in India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan if you want it. They have lower unemployment rates then we do. The issue is underemployment and wages; not wether there are 'jobs around'. We are a first world country and should continue to live this way. This country is here to provide us, the common citizen, with the finest things. That is the purpose of our country. We are hurting ourselves when we saturate our own job market and Universities with people form the outside that are not needed. hence now, the average Canadian cannot afford a decent home or fine living because our wages have been so heavily decreased due to mass immigration. That's an excuse and always has been. She has to go back to school and go through the system like everyone else to get her license in Ontario. 1000's do it each year. I've known one that did it to be a Dentist. Most likely she doesn't have the financial resourses to do back to school full time and live in her house. That's life. Just a note: Even though I don't know her, I can attest to the Dentist: He tried every canadian school offering a dental program and could not get in becuase he failed all the enterance exams. Eventually he was let into a University in Boston. Don't think she didn't take a stab at it when she got here. If she's not a gp now, there's most likely a reason why. Do you suggest we start a charity for her and just give her a license to practice? Poor Christian Israelie-Canadian. Poor woman. You can't live a lavish life that you came here for because you most likely failed your entrance exams. Poor Israelie woman. She's a Christian, Israelie, an Immigrant, a Doctor in her country, Can't find work here, is a taxi driver, AND she's a WOMAN. Wow the CBC and Liberal party should get on this!!!! Hey actually maybe we can give a grant to Deepa Mehta so she can make a film on the this poor woman's life coming to Canada and we can enter it in the Cann's Film Festival. I say this all the time: How about this - YOU give her a freeby medical license and you can let her be your gp. I'll choose someone who was educated here thank you very much. No. They cluster becuase they have no means of integrating in with the rest of society. If you want to fit in, you learn the language, you eat our food, and you wear proper clothing. That's what happens when you WANT to fit in. I would be trying my best to fit in if I went to their countries. I agree. I think the great majority of poeple don't understand just how many white color, high paying jobs that Canadians lose needlessly to immigrants. They also don't understand how hard it is to continue in with higher education becuase of the needless amount of international students clogging up the programs. Why there is immigration (a real look)
mikedavid00 replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You ignored the underemployment part. And I wouldn't call 7% or even 6% 'very low'. Let's put it this way: India has a lower unemployment rate than we do, work can always be found there, but they are all garbage jobs that you can't make a decent living off. The average truck driver there has a university degree. -
In the old days there was very little regulation and control of where you settled and lived. There were no passports or citizenship documentation. If you could offord the boat ride or long trek, you could settle where you wanted. Usually into a larger community of your own. You did what it took to fit-in and help out your new nation. The same held true for North America. At certain points, anyone was welcome to come. The reason why is because there was so many jobs and growth possible, that the country welcomed anybody it could get to harvest the goods of the land. Anyone who came eventually did very well for themselves. In Europe, you more or less had to be born into a wealthy or noble family to have money. If you left for the America's, you could create your own riches. (of course those that came were usually the lower end of failry well off families in Europe who wanted more). The third-world could not afford to come over - mostly Europeans came and built the USA and the north what later became Canada. Do not think about the 1900's. I'm talking earlier than that. Eventually these Europeans became "American's" who created their own law and countries. People who wanted to stay loyal the queen moved up North and became Canadian. Things were well for the average person in those early times; so well, in fact, that they could not find people to do the labor jobs so they imported people from the world to do these jobs. This included black slaves and chinese rail workers etc. Most slaves and rail workers came on a volunteer bases because the pay was good. (please don't argue the latter fact). This usage of poorer workers is still going on today via outsourcing. In the mid 1900's what happened is poeple still continued to come from Europe. However, there were NO JOBS for these new people arriving. What happened is these new people coming not only could not find jobs, they also saturated the current job market and prevented born Americans from getting jobs becuase they were willing to work for less. Also, with the advent of cheaper travel and a banking system, money could be sent back easily to bring others over of a 'lower' family class. Eventually in places like Chicago and New Yorks, ghettos were born with Irish men, Italians, Jews and others. America created its immigration control. Non the less, people still arrived without papers - the term 'WAP' was born. Papers were still easy to fake and most all work was under the table anyway. There were also many race riots. Even Toronto was home to massive race brawls involving Greeks and Italians with thousands out on the street. Toronto like other big cities at the time had it's integration problems. Too many people came too fast. Those that were coming were also of a 'lesser' class. People continued to come nonetheless and immigration became a problem becauses it was affecting the average American who built the country. Eventually, America (and Canada at this time) was only interested in having people in the country who came as investers or had money. The idea was that if these people come, they will employ the unemployed. Well Jews and finally Chinese began to come in droves. No one knows if this actually helped the economy at the time. FFWD When the 1980's came about, travel was at it's cheapest, there was more booming, and getting an 'education' was the thing to do. An education garunteed you a white collar, well paying job. Certain things like engineering that were in huge demand could not be filled. 'American's' were still not interested in taking these courses. Finally families that had money from the third world could now come and study in abroad and eventually get citizenship. Also many other international degrees were recognized and people were invited over to work the jobs that we couldn't fill (are you seeing the pattern yet?) Trudeau was very tough on immigration. He had a magical utopian viewpoint, yes. Very few immigrants came here to take jobs that were in demand. My soon to be father in law told me his story when he came in 1969 and you will see that they only let him in because during that time Quebec had a shortage of teachers adn that's the only reason he was allowed to come. I *do* believe that during his era, people were not just coming here to ghettoize and change our laws; they were here to fill jobs that we couldn't. For instance, there was one study during the 1970's that claimed visible minorities made more money than the average Canadian. This is the way it should be according to France where you are not allowed to sponsor in a worker unless he makes more than the everage Frenchman. People don't realize that the first major Canadian ghetto which was Markham Ontario in the mid 80's where from business class immigrants who were able to show 500k and got into Canada. Too many people came too fast and the first Ghetto with the intent of NOT assimilating with the rest of the country was born. The Mayor of the city at the time said it was a crisis that was happening in his city and the feds were allowing this. Eventually, the modern Liberal Party of Canada realized that political gain could be had by allowing huge voting bloc's of immigrants into Canada and modern Canada is now born with massive floods begin let in each year. Volpe is now calling for 500,000 poeple a year. You know, what is my who point here. The point is, we are for the first time letting people into our country when we do not have the jobs to support these people coming in. There are about 10,000 people a month who immigrate to Ontartio or maybe more. But when for the last 5 years we have had full time job LOSSES in the tens of thousands each quarter, then there is a problem. This doesn't just affect actual job numbers, people who would or should be working full time 'white collar' jobs are not. They are working on the poverty line. Kids out of university no longer have the world as their oyster as they pick and choose which company to work for becuase the competition is too fierce and young Canadians are now forced to compete with grown experienced adults with multiple degrees for the same jobs - these immigratns DO take white collar jobs - don't kid yourselves. Thinking less is not making *me* the racist, but you (think about it). Since the 1990's, we have seen the largest controlled flow of immigration per capita the world has ever seen. There is no plan in place for where they will live, where we need them; but rather just let them in and hope they vote liberal. Harper is stuck in the akward position now that if he is not good to the immirants, he will get voted out. Any politician to be succesfull must now ponder to immigrants in a good way. I'll skip the speech about 'the modern immigrants'. We all know that the majority settle in ghetto's, are not intested in assimilation, and have their 3rd world cultural baggage at their for-front. I don't have to explain this to anyone becuae we know this already. My concern as it always has been; we are purposely letting in more people than we have jobs to provide for them. More people than healthcare to provide for them and their sponsored in family members. Right now the 'average' Canadian are feeling the affects through under-employement and devaluation of education. Eventually, there won't be any real employment or any living wages to be made if the Liberals get back in and set a target for 500,000 poeple a year. Eventually, those families who have money will pass it down and there will be a 'class system' of people who have money and don't. All jobs will be devalued and only the very very elite will have a decent wage: Just like in the thrid world.
-
Yes. I feel that we should not eliminate immigration, but we should only let people in under work sponsorships and from countries where people are proven to assimilate well (Europe, South America etc). I feel the French have a very very good system, but their downfall once again is family sponsorship. I am not a church freak or even a church go'er or very relegious, but people who are Christian in any part of the world (Hong Kong, Chile, etc) simply assimilate better in our culture and country. When you start to let in Sikh's, Muslims, Hindu's, etc, THEN you begin to see problems which cultural extremism.

- $1B divided by 20 million is $50/YEAR - if you drink coffee every day that $50 bucks covers only 14 cents a day. Where do you get coffee for 14 cents a day? Your problem is your year only has one month. You and your wife should consider a child, not only will you learn math from your child,You'll get $100/month from the gov't for him/her. Yes You're right I did miss-calculate which is rare. I ususal have my facts right or close enough but I did misscalculate this one.
-
Oh really? The total cost of the CBC is almost 1 billion dollars a year. $30 a month times 20,000,000 tax payers is 600,000,000. It costs me more than a cup of coffee a day. If you and your wife are the only people in your house that pay taxes, you are spending $100 a month on the CBC to spew propaganda.

Mike, if I understand your point, it's that the boxed, large font quotes only reflect one side of the story. That's it? Fuggedaboutit. It's a minor detail. I found the two articles factual although I felt that some details were left unsaid. If that's your example of bias in the CBC, then you'll have to back to the fishing pole. And PocketRocket, I saw no boxed, large font quotes in the links you provided. Yeah I guess I should have been a little more clear on that point. Out of 11 stories on their website that day, not ONE had the same huge fonts as the CBC's article did regarding their 2 beloved people in Canada: Natives and Immigrants. How can one consider the below to be impartial when you are putting it what looks to be size 20 bold print which is highly unlikely for most CBC 'news' articles. Remember, this is a news article - not an viewpoint based column. I'll try to mach the font size the best I can: "'The accused are not aliens from another planet. They are Canadians accused under the Criminal Code. No more, no less." Then the natives: 'The Haudenosaunee are a people of peace and do not condone violence of any form.' (Is that way there are many warrants for arrest including attempted murder charges?

I Dont Care Where Imigrants Come From
mikedavid00 replied to JMH's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
A long time ago, like probably twenty five years or more back, I was opposed to immigration, particularly third world immigration. I said that it would inevitably cause all sorts of problems, that people would bring their violence with them, and that with so many being brought in they would eventually come to outnumber us. People accused me of paranoia. Well, in Toronto, the foreign born now outnumber those born in Canada, and the numbers are close to that if not greater in Vancouver, with other cities rising year by year. Examine the growth of Muslim numbers so far, and where their numbers are predicted to be in thirty years. I agree. I live in it. Even if they aren't a majority, their policical represenation is of their own. For isntance, West Mississauga is not +50 Islamic. So how is it that most running Candidates are Islamic? (I of course know the answer to this and there is a crisis in our party membership system which is seing to it that minorities are representing majorities: "Toronto, Canada - Monday, December 19, 2005 - On December 2, the Liberal candidate for Mississauga-Erindale, Omar Alghabra, made his victory speech after winning the nomination. In that speech, he reportedly exhorted his audience, "This is a victory for Islam! Islam won! Islam Won! ... Islamic power is extending into Canadian politics". - this guy was the guy who one my riding. When you read about how he actually got his nominatiton to head the party, you'd be amazed. Make what you will out of that. Our own political system. the question is, where is this heading? Or are we going to continually put our heads back in the sand and not admit we have a problem. -

Because G-d knows there was no anti-Semetism in Europe before the Muslims arrived.... August has come the closest to nailing it here. We can tweak the immigration system, mess around with mulitculturalism till the cow's come home, but it won't get to the bottom of Muslim radicalism. Exactly. It's not the job or the role of the Canadian gov't or our tax dollars to explore why there is Islamic extermism over seas or here in Canada. We know it's here, we know it's there. I can't say this enough and not one person seems to understand: Coming... to... Canada.. is... a... privilage - not... a... right. Just like cross boarder shopping. The US has a right to do as they wish which inconviences all of us. We should have the right to refuse whoever we chose coming into our land. Of course all this could be avoided if we only let peoople in on work permits for jobs that employers can't find employees for. (certain types of researchers, etc.) But that would be too American and might cause Canadians to get high paying jobs in fields that they actually went to school for. -
A List of Canadian Terrorists

NO THEY DO NOT. I REPEAT - NO ONE ON EARTH ACCEPTS THE MASS AMOUNT OF IMMIGRANTS THAN CANADA: Here is the info on australia (which I agree is probably the second easiest country to get into right now). Research and Statistics Section - DIMA In Total The number of settler arrivals was 65,804 — an 8.8 per cent increase over the corresponding period for the previous year. Over 60 per cent of this increase was due to a rise in Skill Stream settler arrivals. Australia’s net permanent gain was 33,904 — an increase of 11.7 per cent over the corresponding period for the previous year. By Birthplace On a regional basis, Europe (24.4 per cent) was the largest contributor to settler arrivals followed by Oceania (16.0 per cent), Southeast Asia (13.8 per cent), North East Asia (11.5 per cent) and Southern Asia (11.2 per cent). The largest increase (3,780) occurred in Europe up by 30.8 per cent followed by Oceania (1,202) an increase of 11.4 per cent, Central Asia (959) an increase of 171.6 per cent, Southern Asia (674) an increase of 10.1 per cent and South East Asia (633) an increase of 7.5 per cent. North Africa and the Middle East with a decrease of 1,123 was the largest percentage decrease (16.3 per cent) followed by North East Asia (-744) a decrease of 9.0 per cent and Sub-Saharan Afica (-375) a decrease of 6.6 per cent. The United Kingdom (18.5 per cent) was the largest single birthplace group followed by New Zealand (13.1 per cent), China (7.8 per cent) and India (7.6 per cent)." And you are only getting in if you are WORKING and being productive! (Our version from above would read something like this:) We have let in over 230,000 peole. Of which 20% are Chinese, 18% Southeast Asian comprised of mostly Sikh, and 16% From Pakistan. TOP 10 SOURCE COUNTRIES OF IMMIGRANTS (1996 - 2000) China India Pakistan TOP 10 SOURCE COUNTRIES BEFORE 1981 United Kingdom Italy U.S.A. -
I love the CBC. Look at the large print. I went though all 11 article listings and NONE of them have large print of quotes except for one which i'll put below this one. The CBC will do ANYTNING to persue, subdue, and subconsiously brainwash it's audience (which many here are victim of and don't realize it): http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/20...ati-client.html http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/20...nia-police.html

So we should basically all pledge allegiance to the flag of Canada, as they do in the U.S.? Or just muslims should have to do that? Or just immigrants? How about this solution: You can choose whether to pledge allegiance or not, but it won't matter because we AREN'T LETTING THEM INTO **OUR** COUNTRY SO IT"S A NON ISSUE TO BEGIN WITH! No other country in the world lets in more immigrants than Canada. No other country in the world has a weaker immigration policy than Canada. Do you think they issue point pased citizenship and lax family sponsorship ANYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD? Here's a challeng out there for anyone reading this: Find out what it takes to immigrate to... umm.. i donno.... India or Pakistan. You will find that if you are not born there, it is almost imposible to gain citizenship there.. especially scottland. Actually I will go as far to say that the ONLY countries ANYONE on eath has access to are the following: 1 - Canada (of course - the world hub of immigaration abuse). Just come here with no job prospects and sponsor in your family... wth no job prospect. If you do this for us, we'll give you free surgeries. 2 - Uk - Claim refugee status here and come as a student so you can meet someone in your own ethnicity and get married to become a citizen and free healthcare. Oh yea, we also have lots of ghetto's for your ethnicity. 3 - Australia - so many jobs that they can't fill a lot of positions. It was scary to read some of their IT postings: "Network admin. knowledge of Windows Server, computer hardware, and internet. A+ an asset". - (no joking. I really recommend andyone check out how easy it is to get a high paying job in Australia right now). 4 - US - Work permits for jobs Americans can't fill. Very, very diffucult to acheive but once you do, maybe you can get a peice of the pie. 5 - South Korea - English teachers wanted, but you will NEVER get citizenship. 6 - Dubia - Mulsims prefered, but if not, you can come and work here for 12 months and GET OUT while you are only allowed to re-apply after 4 months of being gone. These are the only countries in the world that are easy to get into. In countries like Samolia, the actually air TV commercials saying that if you land as a refugee, you get free money from the gov't and get paid to sit on welfare. I never met a Samoli person that actually was not living off welfare. I'm just simply AMAZED that people here actually defend these people taking advantage of our lax, weak, immigration policies that are a one of a kind thoughout the whole world. Again, go to India, Hong Kong, Pakistand and see how far *YOU* get trying to get a greencard!

Canadians have high-credentials but are illiterate
mikedavid00 replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
We already have too many engineers in our country. They have to get approval to be engineers which is governed by a regulatory body and the reason why the don't is because they have to go back to school in order to upgrade their skills. For instance, a civil engineering degree from 3rd world pakistan has little to do with the structure in which our engineering here in North America is done. Mechanical is the same thing - in North America we use differnt system and measurements. Engineering is more of a regional facit and that's why it's govered the way it is. Also, they tried to pilot test a new fast-track medical exam for foreign Doctors where if you passed the testing, you would be considered a Doctor and be able to start your residency within 6 months. Sounded good to a lot of poeple until the bad news: out of 30 people, only 1 or 2 passed the first case study which was a basic diagnoses and all failed the whole exam poorly. That's why that plan was scrapped. Doctors who immigrate here that are real doctors, will go through the proper channels to become Doctors. But you don't realize that in the third world you pass class by who you and your family know - not on skills. There's a saying in Pakistan 'under each rock you'll find a doctor'. My friend told me that over there they get paid minimum wage and that if you get a surgeon under the civic healthcare system, he'll leave tools inside of you. This guy I knew came from Punjab as a dentist. He was 28 years old firstly (that should make you wonder) and was refused from every single school he tried. Do you not think there's a valid reason for this? I certainly don't consider these people Doctors. Here's a deal: All the lefty's and yourself can take the imported doctors from the third world, I'll take the Canadian born and schooled doctors. -
http://www.worldlit.ca/facts.html 22% of adult Canadians have serious problems dealing with printed materials. About 45% of new Canadian jobs created in this decade will require at least 16 years of education. Canadians with the lowest level of literacy skills have an unemployment rate of 26% compared to 4% for Canadians with the highest literacy levels. Nearly 1.4 million Canadian children 15 years of age and younger are living in low-income homes. 34% of children from the lowest income families do not complete their high school education. 60% of Canadians on social assistance have not completed high school. 42% of Native Canadians do not graduate from high school, compared to 22% in the non-native population. Almost three-quarters of 626 Canadian companies surveyed feel that they have a significant problem with functional literacy in some part of their organization. Only 10% of Canadians see illiteracy as part of our economic problems. ANOTHER INTESTING POINT: In South Asia South Asia is home to one-fifth of the world's population and 40% of the world's absolute poor. Nearly 98% of the world's illiterate population lives in developing countries. Half of these people live in South Asia. SOLUTION - COME TO CANADA AND GHETTOIZE HERE!

mikedavid00 replied to JMH's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
And you call yourself conservative? You are left wing when you believe that poeple can't think for themselves and it's not a Canadians first right to our own jobs. In the US, you do not immigrate over (for the most part), if you aren't being sponsored in from a company to work. Not only that, there has to be a declared shortage of these workers. The reason is because jobs in the US go to the US first. ONLY THEN, you move the us and *temporarily* work there. Canada's version: If you have a degree and speak english, you qualify enough points to just 'land here' with no job prospects and get your perminant residency. Hence 36% all ALL immigrants after 5 years STILL living in poverty. Then with the few jobs that there are, Canadians have to compete with tons of immigrants all hungry and with better *paper* qualifications. Usually employers will choose the paper qualifications becuase they think they are being clever and hiring the best. Maybe that's why you went out of business? I recommend you read some articles on 'functional literacy' or 'workplace literacy'. http://www.worldlit.ca/facts.html This is not an issue in the US because they are only allowed in to work and then leave. Citizenship is a very long and hard road with odds against you. (yes i know the mexican labor workers are a whole other story). -
Once again you demonstrate that you do not really understand the facts. We need more healthcare works because the baby boomers are getting older and are getting sicker. In many cases, immigrants are filling those jobs because the boomer's kids don't want to do those kinds of jobs. LOL HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! THEN WHY DO 70% OF CANADIANS FEEL THEY ARE UNDEREMPLOYED????? LOL!!!!!!!!! DID YOU PUT THE CBC IN YOUR MORNING CEREAL TODAY KIDS? (funny though, 15 years ago my grandfather was telling me 'there's going to be be baby boomers retiring and all these good things coming'. And it just never happens. It's all CBC and Liberal party hype. The reason why there's justification for immigrants is for policitcal voting and pandering. Every bloc of voters compirsed of over 25% visible minority votes liberal. That's a fact. And that's why we have immigrants. I ASSURE you, if Harper gets his way and his fixed elections, he WILL do something about our immigration crisis and reform immigration laws.
-
Almost half of those jobs are gov't jobs (including teachers and healthcare workers). These jobs are only created by gov't direct gov't decisions - they are _not_ created because of trickle down economics. You are spewing heresay firstly. And again even 75,000 jobs is amazing considering we've been losing 20-30 thousand full times jobs each quarter. It's a good sign still. (of course, we do need lost of healthcare adn teaching jobs because of all the 100's of thousands of immigrants from the porest thirdworld countries coming each year with no job prospects or money). But those jobs cost us, the tax payers, money.

How would you fix our current problems in Canada?
mikedavid00 replied to mikedavid00's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
What are you talking about? Immigants are flocking to Alberta and taking your jobs. Alberta's job market demands high credentials for jobs that *you* could be doing (unless you are employed to your satisfaction which 70% of Canadians feel they are not). Alberta is in an infancy stage - they don't know how to hire employees. They feel because 'Pakies' come in with 2 degrees and high GPA's, they will somehow be a better, more creative and valuable employee than a home grown Albertan. Oh the silliness. "Oooh Tracy look at him, he has 2 degrees! One from Islamabad, one from UofT, and he has a 3.8 grade average! Let's hire him!' Then he comes to work and has issues communicating to employees and continously mississ the whole point of projects and produces extrememly poor work. People begin just to give him the 'dog work'. He sends money back home and brags that he's some high paid engineer in Alberta and tries to get his friends employed from Toronto and Vancouver. And he does. And the cycle continues until his whole department is speaking another language. Then the whole dept. does a sh*t job with everyone missing the point and management eventually catches track of this and cuts the dept. But since they got employeed, they feel the solution is to hire people with even BETTER creditials. The whole while no one wants to admit that they are simply 3 world people, from a dirt 3rd world country, who are 'functionally illiterate'. (real term - look it up). And you? They would never hire you!! Again - Alberta is in an infancy stage. -
You would have to understand economic principles to know why the there's this many jobs. It's directly because of the emotion of confidence in our government. Confidence that was gained through the GST and other announcements. To be honest, I don't remember any other priminister post 1970 doing this much of a stellar job as harper is doing.

You obviously didn't get what I meant when I brought up the GST. The GST symbolises the 'big campaign promise'. They came through and since then if they were to call an election, PC would be in majority status. The market is about confidence and stability. People are showing confidence in our country and marketplace right now. The promise and action on the GST is the 'bigger picture' of why we are seeing this massive influx in jobs. Understand, these aren't typical part time jobs, these are FULL TIME jobs. I almost still don't believe these numbers and am skeptical to be honest. I was waching CPAC last ngiht and saw these Bloc/Lib/NDP politians speaking about integration and terrism and such. I was amazed how the lefties all never answered questions directly. They danced and danced around each question. The host had to keep repeating the question to get them to answer and they didn't budge. They douobletalked every answer and it was such a joke to whitness. Even when he told them to answer directly they didn't. If you listen to Harper in an interview, he answers every question directly and is forthcoming; a real breath of 12 year needed fresh air and people know this and have trust in our system for once. In turn, this gains confidence from the people, including rich poeple, to move forward and hence the job numbers. If they would just eliminate refugee claims and family sponsorship, we would be in amazing shape.

"All of May's employment increase was in full-time positions, as about 151,000 new full-time jobs were created. That monthly increase was the largest on record." WOW! Finally *FULL TIME* jobs on an increase!!!! And such a large increase... what could it be??? So much for the 1% GST cut being useless. Canadians feel confident, they are moving forward, and finally there are some new jobs out there. Don't people feel better having a strong gov't in place? If we could just lessen the flood of immigration then maybe.. just MAYBE, we start to become less underemployed. (note: It's really unfortunate that we're still losing manufacturing jobs to service sector jobs. This is not positive). Oh i know.. lets bring back in the Liberal clowns to make more of machary out of us and our country as a whole. People will see his approval rating sky rocket and hopefully he'll make some perminant changes to our polical system as well as change the system of party memberships.

That's the whole point though - i dont CARE about Isreal!! I'm tired of it being a part of life! I'll never forget sitting at work and this 24 Serial muslim immigrant looking at me with his glazed eyes saying 'we just want our land back'. I coudln't beleive it. I felt like saying to him - look buddy, you have been here for 7 years, speak english, were lucky enough to get this job, have just got 2 free surgeys from a system you never paid into, enjoy ncie clean toilets, and ALL YOU F'ING TALK ABOUT IS IRAN/BUSH/ISREAL AND READ YOUR DAMN ARABIC FONT NEWS SITES! Actually once he called Canadians 'foriegners'. No lie!! That was halarious. But that's no suprise because his whole time here he's done nothing but segregate himself into his community and only speaks English maybe... 12% of the day. -

I clearly hope you were having a bad day when you wrote this. Otherwise it is one of the most racist statements I've read yet on this forum. Who says he's racist? He is stereotyping that's all and just stating his opinion. Is it UNREASONABLE to question muslims coming into our coutnry considering that a poll came out today with half of all Canadians saying that CSIS and police should start racially profiling Muslims. Do you think the majority of muslims aren't racist or stereo type you? the 'white person'? Lol...
