  1. Sure. Only one question then: how is different from China? Is there any essential difference, already?
  2. Look at this piece CBC: questions on vaccination of children answered. Try to find questions like is it really needed for my child? why is it needed? is there a possibility of unknown long term effects? What are the benefits versus risks for my child and the society, all those answers one would want, and need to make an important decision possibly with long term effects. No. It's a foregone conclusion, like with a two year old has to be porridge. Every "answer" is not about if but how. Different points of view simply do not exist. Everyone is marching to the great new dawn, no hesitance or exceptions. And we are paying for this misinformation well into the territory of plain propaganda with our money.
  3. A good question, and many many other questions. And the answer is simple too: if it's not the citizen then there will be someone; always there will be someone to fill a nice, cosy (and juicy) spot and make these decisions, for us. For our own good, as always.
  4. Here you go, from "schools are completely safe (after we spent your billions) to the largest number of infections". 1984 in action. L..rs, s...ing l..rs.
  5. What's crazy, bizarre, weird we are opening an entirely new chapter here let's call it "mass experimentation (on children) for social engineering". Exaggeration, really? What are the benefits to the children? What are the benefits for the society in general, given that significant reduction in transmission lasts only a month or so, according to published results? And total silence. And, business as usual. Is anyone asking questions? Is there any discussion? Wow, wow! What you find out and come to understand with one silly tiny thing that knows only how to change and multiply but does it expertly. And so, supreme priests waved their hand in their all-knowing "travel from Wuhan" wisdom. Muzak drumming, bandwagon screeching to full speed. Just like the pharaohs some thousands years back. Just like nothing changed. Wow.
  6. Thanks for illustrating the level of intelligence and responsibility at which these overreaching decisions are made. No, can't be good.
  7. That an individual did not know, did not think or chose that way and it would be the end of the story. If on the other hand, a propaganda bandwagon is unleashed consciously and knowingly by certain people in clear understanding that benefits aren't certain and longer term effects not known resulting in adverse effects shouldn't someone be responsible for it (and I don't mean the taxpayer's pocket)?
  8. What will you say if a decade or two from now serious long term effects are found in children vaccinated at young age? Was it necessary? Is it anything like polio or meningitis? How long does reduction in transmission last, serious cases being already extremely rare? Do we have to guess though? "Oops" "we just thought" and "oh so new". Possibly, a belated apology. Like it would change anything. Like you could do any better. Like could even think to try.
  9. In another development today Canada's top PH expert has officially unveiled brand new children vaccination bandwagon. As usual these days with a scare 1984-style "schools are safe to major source of the wave" logical transition. The risks of serious Covid in children are extremely small. Long term effects of RNA vaccination, unknown. Effective protection and treatments for vulnerable and severe cases exist. No public discussion of necessity, risks vs benefits for the children happened. I'm getting concerned and even afraid what sort of a society it is becoming. One way or the other Covid would pass but are we seeing already the signs of an essential change in the public psyche and the nature of the society?
  10. No you can't just say it and impose it. It worked in the chaotic early days (and in some places) but no more. Please show and prove that with p.p. 1, 2, 3, 4 above implemented correctly plus 5. clear, honest and correct information that was a direct responsibility, mask in a grocery store; restaurant; shopping mall; and similar places is doing anything. Airplane and train, may be though some airlines started lifting these restrictions. No matter how you call yourself and what hat you put on, you cannot just say it and then impose it. No you have to explain and prove that it's necessary and not in general China some time ago but in this specific environment and situation. If this is still a democracy that is, not some third world authoritarian state. And until such explanation and evidence is presented we just have to assume that it isn't necessary. It is not necessitated by the situation, there are other instruments and options without imposing blanket restrictions on the population and then why it's still done? Without a meaningful explanation, one is limited to guesses, and mine would be, to propagate the sense of emergency; fear; and blind voiceless and question-less obedience to as grossly overpaid as clueless "travel from Wuhan" gurus. If you know another reason, please do share it.
  11. 1. There's an effective protection for the vulnerable population that can be taken voluntarily. 2. There's a number of effective, up to 90% treatments for more serious cases of Covid. 3. There's a possibility of smart, technology based improvements in the places of higher risk to automatically prevent spread of infection. 4. There's a possibility that I would support, of enforcing personal responsibility in specific situations where it may affect health and safety of others such as appearing in public without sufficient prevention measures with a known or suspected infection. Question: what more is needed? Do we need grossly overpaid people managers (forget the disease) telling us what to wear and where to go, on a daily or near basis, for as long as necessary (to who?) indefinitely? Why do we need them? Why do you have to care and be constantly reminded about the Scary Number? Did you know the number of flu and common cold cases two years ago? Are you paying outrageous compensations out of your pocket for a top quality smoothly running system ready for you when you need it? Or for daily prescriptions and reminders where to go? Please pick one because you cannot have both.
  12. Bingo! Distracting and diverting to scary antivaxxers while the world has reopened (without quotes), new effective treatments are being discovered and introduced and life is returning to normal (elsewhere). Always a smart and useful strategy, with a $400K annual compensation (without slightest relation to the result).
  13. Hello "travel from Wuhan" $400K exsperts, may be you can be distracted for a quick minute from your very valuable labors on writing mandates and policies for an insignificant news that a new effective treatment for serious Covid cases has been approved in UK and a number of other countries? Three pills twice a day, five days 90% effective. By the way, could that ("oops", oh so new!" and all eggs always have to be put in one basket) be the reason or at least one of them, for the rate of severe outcomes per case in this country being 3.5 to 10 times worse than in some countries in Europe?
  14. I'm not an expert in specific medications but a simple look at the statistics shows that the toll per case in some countries in Europe is 3.5 to almost 10 times lower than in Ontario. Why? Is there more light cases in Europe, why? Or is treatment more effective in Europe then why and why not here?
  15. Do you understand that "protected 10 years ago" means an old growth forest in two hundred years maybe (if the ecosystem is not exhausted by overexploitation and able to recover, climate change, population growth etc), while you're cutting the tiny piece what's left of the old forests now? Maybe you would like to give me $100 now if I promise you to return it tenfold in a hundred years?
  16. Well it was a one in a million opportunity and why wouldn't one take it? And now they like it too! Now we are well into "reopening" according to the news at least, are the obscene $360K plus benefits salaries are going to come down to their "normals" of $200K? Try to guess when it's going to happen (or if).
  17. Right, that's what you'll leave your children, a pretty picture. Something "protected" now does not mean that it isn't logged or has not been logged three, 4, 5 and so on decades ago, and an old forest is an complete ecosystem that has not been disturbed for up to 200 years.
  18. They actually said than, and also achieved excellent results in management of the epidemics by shutting down entire regions and total surveillance and enforcement of policies without regard to the "rights", "accountability", "common sense" and other such triffles. Did you say, it reminded you of something?
  19. So after a (long) while I made it to a place of public eating in Ontario (and I'm not encouraged to do it more often, sorry recovery) and can now compare the experiences first hand (thanks for the tips, Doctor). First experience: the place is full, packed to the throttle; there's a line and I could not find a free table in the whole two level place had to ask another pair to share. No masks anywhere in sight. No vaccination checks. Beer and conversation flowing... you get the picture. Doctor, are you still with us? Second experience: we put on masks before entering the place. We keep them on while ordering. There are three or four tables in the place and only one is taken, in the whole place. We get our vaccinations checked and names recorded. Finally the masks can go off and the experience commences. I can see the Doctor smiling in his omniscient "travel from Wuhan, no problem!" tower. Ok, which of the two sounds like a "recovery" to you? Please be mindful, the question is tricky. It depends on your definition of (new?) normal.
  20. Seriously though, with that autopilot $400K compensation "travel from Wuhan" style of management, does anybody here still have the ability to observe and notice? Has anybody noticed for example, that the toll per case in the country is a multiple, 3.5 times to 10, of European countries like Finland, Norway, Austria? That in close to two years, the toll per capita in Finland and Norway is dramatically, four and more times lower without a single total shutdown? Or is there any point anymore in observing and noticing? Is it a one-way train already?
  21. No, there's no magical cure. It's known very well since the times of the Roman republic.
  22. It's been almost two years of the pandemic. The toll is four times lower and no lockdowns. Try another dance?
  23. I do because they agree with the reality. No crying and jumping instead and in place of reality. No, crying and jumping won't buy you anything. You have to choose one: Norway: cases per capita: 12 times higher; toll per capita: 4+ times lower; lockdowns: did not happen Ontario: a great show of cases; toll: 10,000 vs. 2,400 (prorated to population); 3 total lockdowns. The conclusion is clear: no matter how well you learned to sing and dance (around actually managing and delivering real results) it won't cut it in reality. You have to chose one.
  24. Well of course, you bought aiiii! the number of cases scare. And because you were witlessly buying it blindly, without looking, seeing and trying to understand what you're buying, you don't ever notice that your result is actually worse, twice and more. And this is because you've become accustomed to buying appearances, shows and performances, and someone learned how to get the real thing. And that's the difference. If crying, jumping and lecturing could produce real results you would have had the best.
  25. So here's the reality check: the list of old growth forest areas in Canada. Can you count the rows? It's three in BC, of which one is the size of 12.5 kilometer square; 6 in Ontario, the largest is a 40 km square and one (one) in Quebec. How's that for two centuries of sustainable management? No holy scripture will save you from a scorch with the fire that you started yourself. It's nothing to do with faith and everything, with selfishness, greed and blind stupidity, like shooting oneself in the foot and blaming gods for guiding your hand. Not like there's any need to test it, it happened so many times already.
