"An angry Nova Scotia Tory Premier Rodney MacDonald is urging Conservative politicians from his province to oppose the federal budget because of a federal-provincial money dispute. Mr. MacDonald also called on the province's senators to hold up the budget bill in the Senate. Federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty “has turned his back on Nova Scotians, and our quiet talks are about to get a whole lot louder,” Mr. MacDonald said in a news release Sunday. The Premier's statement highlights a growing rift in the Tory political family in Atlantic Canada. " Link First Williams, then Casey, now MacDonald...

"so-called scientists"? Huh? They are scientists working at Universities.

Is there a difference between the need for the head of the third party in the house of commons to be transparent and the need for the Head of Government to be transparent?

Yeah, clothes are bad but make-up is ok...

If you had actually read all the links that I provided, you would see that they are from a variety of sources. In that case, perhaps we should ask a psychic what is going to happen for certain. I wonder if Michelle Muntean is available? -

Any comments on this particular quote? Come on, you don't actually believe that do you? It's like people who say "I'm not a racist, but...."

Some journals are, but most aren't. If you live close to a University you can access them through their library for free.

the hypocrisy of that statement is way too funny

You don't know what a peer-reviewed journal is? The reviewers are other scientists in the field.

Only if we can videotape it and use the footage for another season of the simple life Just kidding. Actually, I think that would be a good idea.

Wow, that was a great argument. I'm sold. -
Harper is a pretty bright guy. Surely you can't plead ignorance on his part?
-
Harper used to say that having the party pay for things like this was wrong (and I"m sure he'd agree it's just as wrong for taxpayers to pick up the tab). Now, apparently, he seems to think it's perfectly acceptable. So, the question is, was he lying when he said that the party/taxpayers shouldn't pick up the tab for things like this? Or was he telling the truth, in which case he should be criticizing himself now?

Really, cause I have found that the only way to argue with a religious person is to use the bible. They won't listen to any other arguments. It's especially fun to use against Christians who support the Iraq war -

The right-wingers believe him when he says that Iran is supplying weapons...but when this same former counter terrorism official said that Bush did absolutely nothing to deal with the threat from al-qaeda before 9/11, or when he says he specifically told Bush that sadam had no link to al qaeda, the right-wingers tried to discredit him. Go figure. -
Perhaps you have an answer to his question in post #498: "So was he a liar then or is he a liar now?"

How do we know it was because of Giuliani's abortion comment? Maybe it was a pre-emptive strike against Giuliani for his comment that, knowing what we now know, he still thinks that the Iraq war was a good idea Think about it, there's nothing in the bible condemning abortion, but it says pretty clearly "thou shalt not kill"... (and abortion wouldn't count as killing according to the bible, since Adam was not alive until he took his first breath...and fetuses don't breathe) -

So, Jimmy Jimmioli gets another job which will benefit society more than pumping gas. Let's put it this way...do you think that machines taking over human jobs is a bad thing? If not, why not? -

How is using less of a scarce resource bad for the economy? Isn't that what economics is all about...getting the most out of scarce resources? I should also add, less consumption = more savings = more investment = better for the economy.
