There is a case in Canada, pictures animated and termed cartoon. Faces of real children with cartoon bodies. The fellow charged, had over hundreds of faces of real children and used those fancy programs to make them animated, a cause for concern for parents and law enforcement and they are the ones who would dislike the usage of LOL.. I guess in order to protect these kids and kids in general the vote will be to bring the perpetrators to justice ... one by one.

I think the legal folks have really gone bunkers with this "downloading" technology. I saw in the news a while back "family man" with children downloaded kiddie porn and got a penalty of 25 years. I don't pretend to understand the motive behind watching children porn, it is exploitation of children and wrong. I guess there are a lot of foolish men about. But that is one way how we find lot of foolish people who in making poor judgments suffer the consequences of the rules.

I am wondering what can I ask the Santa Clause to bring me this christmas. I mean the government is bailing out the finanical sector, now the auto section, I see some of the retail section under bankruptcy protection...is Santa in tune with all of this and will it affect what I ask for. I have been really nice this year.

Well now, last time I checked I was still a girl But I can see the point if folks are going to cry harrassment then the prospect of the "hooking up" pool now gone from workplace. Then it is significant if girls and boys decide they do not wish to meet, date, socialise or marry a co-worker. But, I don't believe this is the case that folks don't fall in love with work mates and wish to stay clear. There are many people who have met their potential mates in the workplace. It is the unwelcome behaviors that are problematic and requires the rules to follow. Training is forward thinking to recognize these are rules of how to behave. So you can still have dates and relations with anyone you choose. You have to give up if the folks are not interested or say they are not interested, they feel bad etc. (sorry I lost my initial post, so I had to retype)

All I can say is when you are at work, you are in a professional environment and constraint to certain rules such as sexual harassment rules. If companies do not have written rules use your correct head, follow guidelines, use your common sense.

The pastor is fast forwarding the rude awaking for some people * like some people wake up because of a divorce scenario; * like some people wake up when it is too late. I mean all the time they just laid there with their good ol' sorry self everyday, like not engaging with the fun and girlfriend ways. The bigger picture is that folks just watch the world go by….I take his word that the good pastor is saving many marriages in these turbulent and troubling economic times, and even some babies might happen along might help population balance. I have my own believes and one of them is that sex belongs in marriage. Some reasons why I disapprove of girlfriends or girlfriends with benefits is because of: * unwanted pregnancies, * STD’s, * delayed pregnancies as likely those that are married wish for families, * delayed pregnancies comes with health complications, * and usually women are the victims when these relations are over as they have little legal recourse to resolve disputes as the end approaches. I really don’t have to judge folks by my standard otherwise the “why do we fall? why are we such losers?” imagery prevails. Like people tend to create barriers for themselves; turn their backs against a wall, then go fishing and take the easy way out. Yes, I am making reference to the collection of friends with benefits. A pastor is there to support and encourage people and he shall feed you with knowledge and understanding. The important point I wanted to make is sex is a good starting point for couples, and it will get you talking alright about important things, worrisome things. I find in in my walks of life that the distance of reaching others is so small. All that is needed is to turn and look behind and your love is the one standing there, all the time. And, they are always there for you. Let me see now, I don’t believe you usually make vows to cherish the girlfriends. In a broader context, I would like to say that everyday when you literally stand side by side, face to face and engage others, why not get closer, like step by step, follow them eye to eye, then stare at your writings on your wall. Whether you are influence is up to you, but you’d soon find lots of reasons NOT to believe in marriage and likely move toward hook-up scenarios, short term relations, sex buddies, FWB. Like you create your own doubts and those doubts soon grow into thousands of other doubts i.e. booty calls or whatever. Ask your current girlfriends, I promise they have dreams to get married and they are hoping you'd ask but I can see some of you are thinking it is inevitable. There is some old saying about milking the cow for free.

This is what I thought a friend meant. The friend with benefits is overwhelming, and too much for me to grasp. I hope not to meet these friends with benefits. I have also spoken with some kids about this "add a friend" in the facebook, and I am in bewilderment. If you are added as a friend it means "friend". A stranger can become a friend. If a ginger is on the friend list they are friends means it is ok to prank a friend if the call was out. Some of these bullies will enter the workplace in about 3 years and they will physically hurt people to get where they want to be.

Yes, you have to be married to participate. I really don't get this girlfriend or the friend business. It is hard to distinguish what connotes girlfriend, girl friend and friend. A girlfriend means that folks are liberal with their sexuality. Maybe the dreamers are on the prowl, and want to be romantic with one or several men or women, always on the look out for a perfect match. Means they are in a companionate relationship. Means it don't last. I can't link this idea but I believe the folks that are in the state of living together (girlfriend and boyfriend/friend) remain in a relation really in order to try to avoid prostituting themselves. Clearly, they are not committed to each other, or serious and hence not entitled to privileges of being married. A friend is redefined as girlfriend or boyfriend. For several years now I noticed that men and women in relationships defined themselves as friends when in a relationship (sexual relation to be precise). My neighbor had such a friend that she "slept" with for at least 5 years, during the summer of this year we met her new friend. And it is not only my neighbor that defines the "boyfriend" "girlfriend" as friend, many other folks at work bring their mates in and introduce them as a friend. So friends are also not allowed to participate. For a traditional no-nonsense person I really have to be on top of these nuances.

I can see how those in the rural areas are affected. The fact remains that one person that dies or become incapacitated because of carelessness of teen driving is one too much. Obviously the results of teens on the road are overwhelming when we have to change laws every 10 years or so and with more penalties. Says teens have undesirable behavior on the road.

As a parent, I agree with these new restrictions on the teens. I also have a teen driving, and they don't really think of consequences whenever they are with the friends. We passed our own rules about a month ago, no other teens/friends in the car. No cousins or anyone else without prior approval of parents. One strike and the car is gone. Kids are dangerous with their hormones. Unless they can show results of being responsible and caring for others they should not be allowed to drive. I would even go up the age to 18 with the graduated license.

you folks are funny. It is a strange question for jobs I don't think is widely practice and sure out of date. I would suggest that if having sex with animals affect the performance of the job, the IT job in concern, then go ahead ask away. I however don't believe that there is widespread sex with animals in Halifax nor is it a social norm. This is to the n degree humiliation for ordinary people. For that reason I wonder why is the Human Rights is not all over this. They lay out who we should or shouldn't hire even when it is an extreme burden to an employer.

I don't think it is the Chinese only that have a preference for male children. But, I can see where you are coming from - say for example there is less males birth than females birth the but males have a better prospect mating and resulting tendencies will produce more off-spring. Fisher came up with this theory of the 1:1 sex ratio as the sexes approach equilibrium, the advantage/tendencies that promoted the production of males dies away. Perhaps this is what is meant by nature takes its course.

No kidding as I was reading up on this topic - one of the solutions offered especially in developing nations is to add chemicals to the water, in other words induce women fertility rates.

I am always happy that women have overwhelm the males in the education bit, so I never really took notice before. Now that you mentioned school there are sometimes about 12 students in my various classes currently only 1 fellow, the professors are usually males - I guess because of the older generation. This is such a joke. I was looking at some property between Ottawa and Montreal - not bad at all - my guage is if people are working, why are we bailing the banks. What sort of mortgage crisis are they speaking of in Ottawa. The only crises I see in the housing is the incredible inflation the local municipal is imposing on the people. So I called them to say I would like to sell my property to them immediately at "their" value of my property.

There is so many factors that affect population growth including the ones you mentioned -The rise of "woman's power" has a lot to do with less children and more gathering of wealth, mean less children means more wealth - also movements away from Catholic Church's social influence means less children - test that identify the sex of children for selection - male and female homosexuality You mentioned Norway has incentives to increase children. Corporate Japan offers $$ to have a second child, other countries give an official day off work to have sex and bonus incentives if it results in children. You can go on with varying solutions, say we do have a good stable health care system that takes care of the old, get rid of it and watch how many folks will be making children for soical security sake, to compensate looking after them in the old age. Then think about how you do incorporate a social paradigm shift in a country to encourage 2 or 3 kids per family, that comes with responsibilities of children and less dependance on governments. Or maybe we can simply rely on the nature has a way theory.

The media is seem to repeatedly disparaged Palin . But, you can't expect Palin to suddenly become smart and intelligent to know that Africa is not a country, while also learn about the countries involved in NAFTA in only 9 weeks. Palin would argue that she had a late start , plus she is fresh one thrown into the political circles, an outsider, if you may. I mean don't you learn some of these things in grade school. Palin and Quayle are comparable, both are rattled on issues, not very smart, and liability to the GOP. My thoughts Palin is not going anywhere, not even at 2012.
