  1. Isn't China divided over it's foreign policy? Between the Communist Party and the PLA? Didn't Russia just have mass protests against Putin's re-election? Isn't India's electorate fed up with the ruling INC and the widespread corruption there?
  2. Can I use anger and slipping? Referring to Quebec?
  3. Whenever I feel concerned about the state of NS I look to NB and usually cheer up.
  4. Are you referring to the continuation of some of Bush's policies? He might take some comfort in that but I tend to think it isn't much.
  5. Yeah, it depends on his definitions. I wouldn't say Turkey is democratic but he has 'very' and 'rather democratic' so clearly he doesnt mean Turkey is a perfect democracy. It is somewhat democratic in that it elects people though a voting process. The not so free press is a sticking point though. Same with Egypt. There have been some elections recently but that doesn't make it democracy. Iran is in the list under 'not democratic.'
  6. The Bush and Obama stuff might have had something to do with it but I wouldn't be surprised if you got similar numbers if the same poll was taken today.
  7. Oops, meant to say would NOT want that. I remember seeing that. As much as I love American politics doing that seems a bit silly. Also, there is a lot to admire in American politics but there is a lot to dislike as well.
  8. Ooooh, I wouldn't not like that. I would want Americans contributing to our parties and politicians.
  9. For the past week I've been receiving emails from the Santorum campaign asking for donations and support. I'm pretty sure I can't donate to American politicians. And I have no idea where they got my email.
  10. I've been meaning to start a thread on China considering its growing importance and the upcoming transition. With the recent 'Coup' (ie. the sacking of Bo Xilai, a increasingly powerful party boss) now seems like a good time. I found this article very interesting and it shed some light on some past grudges that I wasn't aware of. These type of power struggles never seem to go in the right direction. But in my opinion this turned out well. Great read. http://www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2012/03/29/the_revenge_of_wen_jiabao
  11. Here's a link http://www.businessdictionary.com/definition/common-knowledge.html
  12. It's common knowledge that the first year is the time to do the not so popular stuff.
  13. Apparently it is more of my impression of the WR party that is off the mark. My third party was the WR and the NDP was last. That wasn't what I expected.
  14. I got the impression you'd be between PC and L.
  15. Agreed. There have been a few missteps lately too. Messaging hasnt been as tight or consistent since they got the majority. In a way it is harder having a majority.
  16. Oh. I did it the other day but just looked at where I was overall. I didn't know you could do more. Thanks. I think it was low 70's Liberal and high 60's PC.
  17. Stupid question time. Does it position you on the spectrum on every question or do you just know all the parties stances?
  18. Thanks?
  19. What's the word on Defense?
  20. He's against sex education in schools for a start. If you think that is radical I can't imagine the number of other things that would upset you.
  21. Evangelical fellowship. Lol
  22. Any predictions on critics? Leslie stay in environment? Can they or will they keep Nash and Dewar in their old spots considering their showing at the convention? Cullen? Singh as adviser or something somewhere?
