  1. What if the consumer if left no other options; either because the only available products are Chinese made or because the consumer cannot afford the domestic products as his/her job was outsource to China?
  2. Nice article on Znet about the cnn vs. sicko "incident" link
  3. Please define "white" culture first.
  4. It appears that the discussion focuses on determinations of contentless abstractions such as "two states" and "one state solution", apartheid, and terrorism. We argue over the justification of using terms like apartheidism to describe Israel’s policies or if labels such as terrorism applies to the Palestinians. We never question how these categories originate. We ignore the concrete realities that spawn these terms and instead rely on criticizing people's use of labels like "justified military response" and "terrorist attacks". We are apparently unable to look at the whole of events from a purely critical point of view and instead rely on petty sophistry. [Quick thread hijack This was most evident during the recent spat between Iran and the UK over whether Iran had captured British sailors in international waters or not. The media had a field day reporting on whether they were in fact in international waters or not and if this would provoke a war between Iran and the UK/US. No one asked the obvious question: how can countries go to war over something as ludicrous as a few hundred meters? How can war benefit both* side’s general population and not only its leaders? Done hijacking the thread] People on all sides never question the very system within which they operate**, instead deferring to established positions. We must look at the concrete whole before assigning terms which we can easily dismiss. (Rocket attacks are a form of terrorism and hence wrong or military strikes on Palestine are wrong due to the disproportionate strength of both sides.) This is what true criticism is: the relationship between the concrete and its mediation through abstract concepts. * I’m characterizing the issue as a two sided problem for simplification ** This is what I mean by sophistry i.e. arguing within contentless abstractions.
  5. The battle of la Somme was just as pointless for the soldiers themselves as this one.
  6. Expert likens occupation to apartheid
  7. Then you agree that the Israelis' supplantation of the so-called "Palestinians" was not wrong? Short answer - On the surface I think it is incorrect for one "People" to supplant another through force. Long answer - If we go back far enough, we are not indigenous to any geographical area outside of Africa, but we create propertied geographical areas once we establish the notion of private property. This leads to the separation of the outside world as being one [and we being a product of reality and not the idealist reverse] into being what is mine and what is yours.
  8. For a more precise discussion on money policy, a thread is currently being discussed in US forum.
  9. The Federal Reserve is in fact owned by 12 private banks.
  10. That is just downright offensive, way to defend your side. Although, I guess I should not expect anything less from people who think women are by nature more emotional.
  11. Wow, talk about your chauvinistic views, that's a doozy! Good job going back 300 years to find a description of gender. Are you an avid reader of the Malleus Maleficarum? Fact is gender ideas are social constructs.
  12. 1- Palestinians view Israel as a foreign invader(1). 2- Palestinians do not have a true army in the western sense of the word and must rely on guerrilla tactics. 3- If Canada was invaded by an occupation force, would we roll over and take it or use any means necessary to regain sovereignty over our(2) land? Footnote(I wish we could add these to postings): 1 While you may dispute this issue, it does not invalidate the remain points I'm making. 2 Technically it isn't our land, we just took it.
  13. By holding this position Canadians should give back Canada to Aboriginal Peoples, right? Most of Africa should be given back to actual Africans, right?
  14. Abramoff knew about war on Iraq a year before it happened: link How can this be?
  15. Worship of a "god" is but one manifestation of the delusions of the religious. Christians have plenty of ridiculous aspects too; such things are hardly constrained to Jews, Buddhists or Muslims.
  16. Read these links -1-2-3- concerning the "soaking up" of US dollars. You can print all the money you want when you control and instruct the IMF and World Bank to force foreign countries to soak up these "excess" dollars. *edit* US dollar reserves Japan 670 Billion China 470 Billion South Korea 220 Billion

  18. Ah yes, the old two wrongs make a right routine.
  19. VIDEO: Israeli Soldiers "Shoot to Kill" at Israeli Anti-war Demonstrators
  20. Both actually. If you would of read the links I gave you and not just pick and chose quotes, you would of noticed that at times, residents of the sheeba farms area paid taxes to Lebanon. Both countries agreed in 1964 that the disputed land was to be made part of Lebanon. What else is there to say.
  21. I guess reading is not your strong suit.
  22. Alright, this is the last time I'll correct you. If you don't know what your are talking about, keep your yap shut. Israel has never completely withdrawn its forces from South Lebanon. It's unfortunate that people like you are allowed to use computers to spread lies. If only people like you would research your opinions before spouting off, it would truly be a better world. And I'd like to emphasize this link from Reuters of all places.
  23. Kinda like how Hezbollah has been defending Lebanon from Israeli invasion for the past 25 years?
