  1. Uh huh...Well, er...almost nobody.
  2. I wonder if he'll be able to sell this idea in Ontario. I don't think it's just the ideologies of the parties, it seems to be pretty reflective of society in general.
  3. I was a bit puzzled by Trudeau's statement about environmental policy, particularly when he quipped... "What Mr. Harper has consistently misunderstood about what happens in the 21st century is…you cannot make a choice between what’s good for the environment and what’s good for the economy."
  4. Yeah, this generation is so full of hate, I'm sure Harper loses sleep over it. I guess why even bother even making an effort to understand anything, easier to reject it outright and go post a joke about it on social media...it's easier and it feels good so it must be the right thing to do. I'm sure this self-centred, dysfunctional, "Snooki and JWOWW" generation we currently have to endure is somehow Harper's fault as well, so I guess he deserves it.
  5. The loggers in Alberta fighting the mountain pine beetle may disagree with you.
  6. So....just out of curiosity, were you being willingly deceptive to stir the pot or were you just ignorant of the facts of your own topic? From someone who whines and complains so much about trolling around here you seem to have some skills yourself.
  7. Yes, thanks for finally clarifying your OP 2 pages into the discussion. In the absence of a link, it is unfortunate you could not articulate your original post in such a way that would avoid confusion or deception. Got the discussion going though, didn't it.
  8. I agree, maybe we should paint it purple and give it big googly eyes and a tail like Barney the dinosaur. Kids would love it. A rainbow bridge... really? Good grief. I thought the Chinese finger trap bridge across the Bow River in Calgary was a goofy idea.
  9. How is this a problem? Maybe she "feels" black and is expressing based on her feelings. Maybe the problem is with everyone else.
  10. If she self-identifies as black, who are we to say otherwise? Let her be black. Heck, she even tanned and got an afro. Apparently it was her parents that outed her to everyone, it's a shame in this day and age that they cannot just accept her for who she is.
  11. Unfortunately, utilizing these new tools requires us to accept their usage policies and agreements that the organization has put in place. We click the box and agree to have our data mined, we agree to unwanted selective advertising based on our electronic footprint, etc. etc. forcing us in the exact flawed position the OP describes. There was a time when people resisted giving up personal information to third parties, now we give it up freely and willingly so we can have 1000 friends to talk to.
  12. No, it's not an opinion. The formation and supporting of stereotypes such as the one you presented is based on personal experience and bias, it's not representative of any fact or "truth".
  13. Well if it's true for you , then it must be an indisputable premise based in fact, eh? The experiences you have had with men in the past that apparently form the skewed perception you hold currently do not necessarily form the societal consensus. In other words, it is a frivolous (and presumptuous) statement.
  14. What exactly was it he said that warranted him getting fired? From what I understand, it was his buddy that made the offensive comment, he just said he found it funny. I guess possessing a bad sense of humor is enough to get you fired these days. It wouldn't surprise me if this guy is currently looking for a good labour lawyer.
  15. I doubt it, Trudeau seems to be more of a "big picture" sort of guy when it comes to the mathematics of finance...
  16. He tried, but the opposition parties would have non of it.
  17. It's amazing how short our memories are. As I recall, the catalyst for the 2008 coup d’état attempt by the opposition parties was the Conservative fiscal update which included plans to cut government spending in the face of a major economic recession...a plan which the opposition were dead against.
  18. Bummer. I stubbed my toe last night. Man, did it hurt!!!!
  19. It appears you have two options...(1)get a handle on your paranoia, or (2) deal with the fact that this is a public open forum and accept that people viewing your posts may respond in a way you may not agree with. They have to log in to respond. I dont get what your issue is.
  20. Right on. Who says progress is not bring made regarding gender wage disparity!
  21. Are you seriously disputing the existence of the G7? Are you speaking metaphorically?
  22. Listen... at risk of contributing to your thread drift, logic is not based in opinion. The fact that you are not aware of this makes me wonder why I am even wasting time responding.
  23. Logic by definition and nature is independent of subjectivity or perspective. It's not my logic.
  24. There are a few here who are suggesting that storage of ammunition in the wrong room will result in a minimum sentence of 3 years in jail. I certainly was not suggesting you were among them. This definitely was an egregious case, however if I understand correctly Mr. Thompson was acquitted. I fully agree with your assessment, the fact that it is so poorly drafted is precisely what makes gun charges so easily defensible. It's unfortunate that this fact also dilutes it's strength when it comes to convicting the real bad guys, thus the appetite for stronger sentences for actual gun crimes.
