A security threat. Jeez. How many acts of violence have been committed in Britain by moslem women wearing veils? Say compared to British louts wearing football club jerseys? For the simple reason of IDENTIFICATION! Some criminal may just decide to get into drag....dressed like a Muslim woman (all covered and all) to get into a place to do a crime! So what do witnesses have to say when asked to describe the criminal? Just the color of the eyes? Try wearing a Jason mask and go inside a bank. Let us know what happened. Or try wearing sunglasses, a wig and fake beard. Or fake eyebrows, die your hair and wear a fake big nose. Or wear a really loud outfit that diverts attention from your facial features. Or all of the above. Or some of the above. This is a red herring. Yes you can try all of the above too. But I bet the best disguise is still that of a Muslim woman.

Gen. Hillier: Most Taliban are "moderates"
betsy replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well, when someone uses the word , "negotiate"...it means he's willing to do some compromises. So what is Jack willing to compromise? The gays? Womens' Rights? Canadians converting to Islam? Harper's head on a silver platter? So who wouldn't think he's gone bonkers? -

Let's not forget what Pope Benidict is...
betsy replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
I have no problems with gays wanting to become priests....as long as they adhere to the teachings of Christ. Some gays are trying to do the right thing...but they are only human...and if they fall into sin and practice homosexuality (with consenting adults, and not MINORS), I believe that is between them and God. It is not for me to judge them. For those who tampers with minors and/or indulge in pedophilia, I hope to see the law come HARDER ON THEM, as would the law should come harder on ANYONE who holds power and authority, regardless of whether they are heterosexuals or of any other sexual orientations! I do have big problems though, when gay priests enforce their lifestyle to be accepted in a Christian church....trying to enforce what they think should be included and ought to be done with the Christian faith.....knowing fully well that homosexuality is considered a sin and according to Jesus, un-natural. I don't care what the lefties and advocates want to make of this teachings. They can argue about their political correctness til they're all blue in their faces! The fact still remains that homosexuality is considered a sin in the Catholic faith....and no lefties nor homosexual activists could make a true Christian change his belief about that. -

Since we all know that pedophiles and homosexuals had infiltrated the church...used the church...to be able to abuse the sons and daughters of the parishioners of the various Christian churches. If we would want to hear apologies from everyone somehow involved whether directly or indirectly...or just through mere association....and belonging to the same organization (church) that represents the Christian faith, it is then only reasonable to also demand apologies from the various gay groups. I would also have included demand from various pedophile groups....but of course such groups are nowhere in existence. I mean apologies given to ALL CHRISTIAN churches and their parishioners.... that were used and abused by homosexuals. The damage that was done to the Christian faith is immeasurable. You can relate to that, Newbie...for you are still trying to cope with your anger. And I understand, you've got valid reasons to be angry. -
'Come clean' on Arar, Harper tells Bush.
betsy replied to Ricki Bobbi's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
From what little I've seen and heard from Arar (through newsclips), something is bothering me. I find it odd that his focus for an apology is from Harper? If I had gone through all the hell of tortures, and had lost a year of my life..........wouldn't my bitterness and anger be directed to those who has something to do with it? If the system failed me....wouldn't I be directing my questions to those who were sitting in power at the time it happened? Wouldn't I be pushing for the whole truth to come out....not just a part of it (with the RCMP)....but including those who were supposed to be representatives of the people...representing me...and are supposed to be protecting their citizens? Especially if I want to ensure this kind of thing does not happen to anyone again? Shouldn't I want to get to the very bottom of this? If I want vindication and closure? How can we correct something we don't understand fully? Does an apology, even if given sincerely, fix the problem in the system? Is an apology...from Harper....the solution? At least Harper seems to be trying to fix the injustice done to Arar. He may not have issued any verbal apologies, but by the looks of it....he is doing something for Arar! On the other hand, Graham, representing the actual government who allowed Arar to be ripped from his family and this country, and delivered him on a platter to be shipped to a place for torture said "sorry." And that's it? What happened to the question of, "how did that happen?" You call that satisfaction? Some sort of comfort? As another minority in this country, trying to identify with what had happened to Arar...I am far more interested in what the Liberals have to say about it.... than wait for an apology that doesn't really matter at all. -

Maybe there's grounds for complaints against such loonies. I don't know much about the intriciacies of the law...but if it falls under harrassment, they've got something to answer for. Restraining orders? Incarceration? Psychological testings? -
'Come clean' on Arar, Harper tells Bush.
betsy replied to Ricki Bobbi's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
As a Canadian citizen, I want some answers why a citizen of this country was just handed out...just like that! As a tax-payer, I want some answers why we have to shell out this much money for someone's boondagle! We've heard the RCMP version. It cannot just stop there. -

Nor an apology that comes from someone who had nothing to do with what happened. -

Apology from the Liberals is not enough. The head of the RCMP Commissioner is not enough. Monetary compensation is not enough! The Liberals got some serious questions to answer. This Arar Affair should not be treated like just any other Liberal dirt that the Liberals are trying to brush under Harper's rug. -
'Come clean' on Arar, Harper tells Bush.
betsy replied to Ricki Bobbi's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I would like to see a full inquiry...not just on the RCMPs role....but about all the politicians involved (especially Foreign Affairs)....how the system failed Arar. The RCMP couldn't have been the only one who have some questions to answer. It's well and good that Graham apologised....but if I were Arar, that would not mean much comfort. What does that apology mean? Apologise now so the Liberal Party can quietly fade into the background? Silent and looking on "innocently" as the pressure of an apology from Harper mounts......the "outrage" of the lefties serving to distract from the real issue? As Arar, my bitterness would be more focused on those sitting in government then...rather than the one who's leading now (who after all, had not had anything to do with any decisions about his plight). It was the Liberal government who failed me....terribly! So all these people (reps from minority groups) who appear on talk shows berating Harper for being "quiet" and not issuing an apology....and Jane Taber too whose orgasm seems to be hanging on to this elusive Harper....they all just seem to be slyly using Arar to push for their agenda to topple the Conservative gov. Unless these pundits and leaders of various minority groups are too shallow that they can't even discern where the true outrage should be directed upon: those in power when it happened. They were the ones who's got something to answer for. So apology from the Liberals should not be enough. They're not going to get off scott-free just like that. Especially when taxpayers will be bailing them out again....and will be paying for the price tag. I want some answers! -
Gen. Hillier: Most Taliban are "moderates"
betsy replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Some must be speculating too.... Or realizing... wait-a-minute...why don't any of the high rank leaders volunteer to do the suicide bombing? Why is it they don't seem to be in a rush to meet the virgins? Is something wrong with those virgins? That's why they're on sale...72 of them in one go? And why were they still virgins? Are they ugly? -

betsy replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
We're all just speculating here. Even IF indeed NATO and the Afghan gov't end up negotiating, we could still SPECULATE as to the real reason why they did. Who knows....maybe Jack's got the gift for gab, and did a good sales pitch. For the longest time now have you notice how Jack and his MPs still spout off the same lines they've pitched during the election? They couldn't stop from selling at every turn. The NDP MPs all sound like they've all got one thing in common: they used to do Amway! Maybe that's the skill Jack is banking on when he suggested he wants to "negotiate" with the Taliban? -
Imho, the most important is that you share the same values and goals in life. And that goes too for priorities in life. You will then both paddle your boat to try to reach the same destination. No matter what, marriage takes hard work in order to survive. So both of you must have a desire for commitment. Some people get into a "meaningful" relationship thinking negatively on the outset: that if things don't work out, I will walk. Well it will only last if both people put an effort and a determination to make it work! It will take much more than just good sex to make a relationship last.

And it's hard to be in the mood for sex after a long day's work...so of course Big Os don't come that often. Such is a poor woman's lot. Btw RB, do multiple-orgasms count? I think ONLY WOMEN can have that.

Gen. Hillier: Most Taliban are "moderates"
betsy replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Which one? Is that also the peaceful Muslim? I was only imagining that some probably got caught and swept up in its movement (like the typical insurgents in banana republics), and are now having second thoughts. The ones that are keeping a very low profile whenever the leader asks for volunteers to do a suicide run. -

Hey betsy, quit trying to be reasonable. Remember who you are responding to. Always attacking Harper and the Conservatives, never giving them credit no matter what they do. I know. Darn this Gerry....he's good at "fishing"...and I almost always end up taking the bait! -
I was looking at the photo on the link...and I would feel uncomfortable talking to someone whose face is all covered in black, except for the eyes. I guess I watch too many thrillers and crime movies....when they show the bank robbers having hoods on their heads with only the eyes showing. I don't know if they call those robbers' hoods baklava?

"Tories Plan To Protect Same-Sex Opponents"
betsy replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
This suggests a slightly mistaken impression of Charter s.15. Its language sets out a universal right to equality, then lists certain examples. The examples are not exhaustive. The court didn't make up the universal equality right, they merely acknowledged that homoseksuals are, obviously, included in the set of 'everyone'. But I was told that when they were discussing and writing up the Charter of Rights, they had all decided NOT to include gay rights. They were SPECIFICALLY LEFT OUT. This was during the time of Trudeau. That the Charter was changed by the Supreme Court without going through Parliament. -

More legislations on Freedom of Religion could open up another can of worms. But I would like to see the protection of Freedom of Speech. We should abolish the Hate Laws....they are redundant. They don't further rights in general and in fact, they infringe on free speech rights for everyone....they're only for special groups. Rights should be for everyone. The current laws that protect our rights in general...also protect the rights of special groups. That's why we have the Charter of Rights. It is far from perfect as it is. Meddling with it is only going to make it worse. -
Gen. Hillier: Most Taliban are "moderates"

Let's wait for the whole context to be published. But of course there would be moderates among the Taliban. Is that surprising? Same as there would be moderates among the extremists! Remember that not all kidnapped hostages were beheaded....depending on what faction took them. -
Republican Congressman Foley a pedophile

If true, makes you wonder how anyone can be so stupid as to place themselves in such precarious positions. They should know by now that no dirt remains hidden for long in politics. -
I am concerned with the LGBT youths that EGALE said are confused or troubled...and being "counselled." These are minors. That they are already troubled and confused make them much more vulnerable and easily manipulated, seduced or coerced.
