  1. I was editing. Read my latest post again. How did you ever translated that the Saudis ARE BEING FORCED TO TORTURE them?
  2. Yeah? explain to me how you understand it. How did you ever get that the Sauids are being forced to torture them? There. I highlighted the key-phrase.
  3. Yooohooo? haven't you heard? They'd kicked us out already. And......we didn't even get the satisfaction of kicking out their ambassador! They told him to get out of Canada! Lol. Anyway.....how come Trudeau and Freeland never did used that as a leverage? If KSA doesn't free the activists - we'll kick you out? Why? Who among here are resisting that we kick them out? Not me. And while we're at it.......why not rip up that arms deal contract? And, don't buy their oil! Only a few thousand Canadians will lose their jobs - heck, we're on a roll! I can live with the consequence. Can Trudeau and his government live with it?
  4. Because Trudeau is a dolt! We're all affected by his decision(s)! That's why! Instead of de-escalating this situation, which his Minister of Foreign Affairs had caused, he came out digging in, and throwing gasoline into the fire.....with his baloney so-called stance on human rights. HELLO? He and Freeland pick and choose their dictators! Did anyone ever hear them publicly calling out to China the way they did towards KSA?
  5. Lol. Torture is an ordinary procedure in dictatorial regimes. I didn't say the Saudis are forced to torture because of people's tweets. Read again.....and understand what you're reading.
  6. https://www.bnnbloomberg.ca/freeland-s-trump-style-tweet-to-saudis-damaging-to-canada-baird-1.1120883 Of course, the arrogance of Trudeau prevents him from doing the practical, and right thing to do.
  7. Here are the couple of tweets that's triggered this headache:
  8. The poor Badawis must be getting tortured round the clock now in that Saudi prison - being the "cause" of all these, you know. These self-serving politicians don't care at all that their big tweets would likely have severe repercussions on those that are at the mercy of a brutal regime! If Freeland truly is serious about wanting to secure the release of the Badawis, they would've done so quietly......and, diplomatically. The last thing she'd want would be to ruffle any sensitive feathers. She knows the Saudis are sensitive - she must know! Look what happened to Sweden and Germany. I hope she did her homework. Being the Minister of Foreign Affairs, she acted irresponsibly.
  9. Just gave your rationale as an example at the other thread. Used 72 pt crazy ass colourful font on you. Threw in a smiley too, as a bonus. For those who wanna see: Voila! See how irrational atheists are? You make it so easy for me to prove it.
  10. Who said I'm fine with any violations of human rights???? Goodness. Never mind raising the Christian card! You'd be better off if you try to understand what you read. Lol. I'd shown you the hypocrisy of Freeland and Trudeau - you can't refute it, can you???? And ignoring the glaring fact - you are so very obviously fine with all that. So, typical with many so-called progressives (they should be appropriately called REGRESSIVES, btw ), you're turning this personal, and you're using the Christian card. Okay, try to wrap this around your head: Trudeau and Freeland don't really care! By their self-serving grandstanding on tweeter, they most likely made life even harder for the Badawis in the prison of Saudi Arabia! You think irate Saudis wouldn't be taking it out on them??? Think torture! So, never mind your crocodile tears for people who suffer under dictators! Stop rehashing self-serving talking points by self-serving politicians! You don't fool anyone, except the dumb. If they're truly serious about securing the release of the Badawis - they would have done it quietly, and diplomatically.
  11. Well.....Trump can handle the repercussions! And, he's getting his way (in most cases). And, when he meddles in other countries, he has LEVERAGE to back him up. What leverage does Freeland have over Saudi Arabia? By the looks of it, when push comes to shove.....it's Saudi Arabia that has the leverage! Look what they're doing now! Freeland, is not Trump. That's the big difference. The Trudeau government doesn't have that high ground and doesn't have the credibility. https://globalnews.ca/news/3899392/trudeau-admires-most-not-china/ https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/chrystia-freeland-decries-plight-of-canadians-jailed-in-china/article37170212/ There's the hypocrisy, personified.
  12. Well.....for every action there's a consequence. Whether the Saudis over-reacted or not, is not the point. There wouldn't be something to react like this about if Freeland had said things diplomatically. Why do we even spend money having an ambassador if everyone can just go about tweeting what they want to say?
  13. A normal civilized country wouldn't make demands on a country via tweeter. Instead, they'd use their ambassador in Saudi Arabia to do the diplomatic thing. What is the recourse for Saudi Arabia when they make that very public rebuke and demand? Capitulate?
  14. And you bet, it isn't just Saudi Arabia. Money talks.
  15. It's one thing to want to do something for this family - or even if it's all about human rights, whther by LGBT or females - but the government handled it improperly. By making demands such as the way it was worded, would a country like Saudi Arabia cower in fear, and promptly comply? I blame our government for this.
  16. Eh, what's wrong with you? Can't you read? There. I used 72 pt.....and that doesn't mean I'm losing! I've to do that when I'm dealing with rationales like yours. Gee, all you God-less anti-Trumps are all peas in the same pod. I'll even throw in a smiley!
  17. Good point! That's why they don't have any high ground with their finger wagging and preaching. To say that it took them by surprise the way KSA reacted is an understatement. Boy, their heads must still be spinning. I bet Trudeau is in shock - not a peep from him.
  18. International students really do a lot of good for the economy. My kids (and their friends next door) had kept a local restaurant in business! They do a lot of shopping, too. They take the taxi practically everyday. For a small city that has only one small taxi company, that's really good.
  19. Apparently, UK commented on Saudi's human rights issue, too - like, sort of backing up Canada - but looks like Saudi ignores UK - and keeps her focus on Canada. Yep. They're grandstanding. I think Freeland and Trudeau had fallen into this by mistake. Trudeau is under the mistaken notion that "he's popular" among other western leaders (especially in Europe). It is my impression that the G7 meeting resulted in that failure due to the fact that Trudeau was led on by Macron. He ended up becoming Trump's whipping boy because of that. His "pack" mentality - "strength in numbers" - failed him miserably. Trudeau is a weakling. Where are his buddies now? Who's watching his back? No one. He's on his own on this one. This is not the movies. This is reality. All leaders will be putting their country's best interest above all else -and that's how it ought to be. They both ended up buying into the Canadian media spin about themselves. Remember how Freeland was lauded for the NAFTA negotiations? I thought that she's level-headed, too - but this changed my opinion of her. She seems so.......amateurish.
  20. Notice how Canadian mainstream media try to dilute these costly retaliatory measures: "this is a message to the west." No. This is a message to Trudeau. Trump didn't particularly push for feminism and LGBT issues. Look how Trump was treated! And if what I've read quite a while back is accurate, the young prince of Saudi was taking advice from Kushner in opening up and bringing KSA to the present.
  21. KSA isn't done yet with Canada. They're selling off assets they've got in Canada, "at whatever cost." That must be the answer to millionaire Morneau's posturing yesterday, and the ministers' standing by their tweets! Lol. The arrogance that cost billions......and more problems for ordinary Canadians like you and I. Trudeau's feminist and LGBT activism could very well be at the heart of this. A Saudi minister says Canada knows what to do to rectify this. Big apology?
  22. Holy cow! KSA stopped importation of wheat and barley! Even Saudi patients are being taken out of Canada! I think there's more to this than meets the eye.
  23. Bottomline: You don't make demands by tweeting......especially when you've got no leverage. Not only do you embarrass a nation publicly...... but it is an open challenge that will make a country dig in all the more. face it. Tweeting that demand and rebuke was a costly, stupid move. Kinda like the stupid open-invitation tweet by Trudeau. Lol. Unconfirmed rumours (mentioned by CBC) says the Trudeau admin is begging UK to intervene to make a dialogue between Canada and KSA to happen. Canada sounds panicky desperate. Talk about between a hard rock and hard place. Which will you wanna lose? Face? Or, billions? Don't start something you can't finish. Trudeau is our downfall.
  24. Notice how quiet European nations are? Even Macron and Merkel? https://www.bloomberg.com/view/articles/2018-08-07/canada-and-saudi-arabia-spar-on-twitter-and-no-one-will-win
  25. First of all, they are not Trump. Unless they can deal with retaliations - they shouldn't be tweeting any issues that should be discussed DIPLOMATICALLY. Second, who needs an ambassador anyway.....if they will bypass him, and deal with sensitive issues through tweeter? And yeah.....it's a women's rights campaigner, right? FYI, women's rights in the west is very much different from the rights that women from Islamic States are clamoring for. Add to that, Canada's women's rights entail the rights to fornication and abortion (as seen from a religious perspective). How do you think that flies in an Islamic state? Don't forget too that the LGBT movement is back-to-back with feminist movement - that's how Trudeau is. I wouldn't be surprised if that's part of this strong reaction from the KSA. How KSA respond to Trudeau adminstration might be a precedent. I won't be surprised if we see all religious-based countries to start pushing back........where it hurts Canada the most. TRADE. The spat with the USA is no secret, you know. Everyone knows we're hurting. Besides, Canada has no moral high ground and credibility.....when faced with China. Morneau gives empty words. Our so-called values mean squat when we're talking dollars. At least, that's what the Trudeau admin shows to the world. (please see my two previous posts)
