  1. But muslims do not come from one single country. How on earth can we blame them all for the actions of a few extreme ones? What if those crazies in that other country were YOUR race or religion? Thankfully I look like the "majority" -- what about those who don't? Would we inter Hindus because they "look" like muslims? Very slippery slope indeed. Betsy, you say "when it becomes all out war". I believe the optimal word is "if". Terrorists are not going to unite so that we have an "identifiable" enemy. There is no one (or two or three or four) countries to "blame". These religious nutbars are from all over the world. comments like this sound like you are frothing at the mouth to have it happen... to justify your stance. Terrible IMO.
  2. I am sorry. You are correct -- the folks on this board (most of you) deserve the same level of respect afforded my coworker. When I wanna dis religion I'll go to an atheist forum. It seems though -- just questioning an illogical belief is considered "dissing" to some folks -- yes I know I've done more than simply question... and for that I am sorry (not sorry for questioning though). Life's far too short to go around worried allatime! Cheers!
  3. Taking away their property was for "their own protection". Yahhh riiiight. You got land? You better give it to me, for your own protection of course. I need to protect you from burglars and the best way to do that is if you have nothing to steal. So hand it over. You say we should not have treated them as "enemies". At the very same time you say "but we were at war". Yes, we were at war with Japan. We are not at war with a country today (apparently we are at war with "nouns" these days -- ie, war on terror, war on illiteracy, war on obesity, war on drugs -- ok "drugs isn't a noun but you get it??) Muslims are from all corners of the earth. Should we "intern" all of them or just the ones from the "axis of evil"...?
  4. Well, I wouldn't really say it's my life mission -- I don't really spend alot of time thinking about it... I am not worried whether or not my thoughts are sins against god or anything -- I just live life. *shrug* I only dis religion on this forum. I would never ever dis my very religious co-worker's faith as she is a very nice person. If she were a preachy bi*** however, I would not put up with it.
  5. Yah Betsy We should prostrate ourselves and PRAY to the great USA god that they don't invade our useless nogoodfornothin country. You have very low self esteem Betsy.
  6. Ah the religious... They see god everywhere. God is in the blue sky -- it is soooo beautiful, how could it NOT be created by a lovinggod? God is in a dew drop -- its magical how the water retains the sphere shape, how could it NOT be created by a lovinggod? The religious believe anything and everything is direct evidence of god. The very fact I am typing is (to them) evidence that god exists. Ahhh the religious....Bless their onetrack minds. LOL
  7. Fortunata, bunch of us business folk are getting together to send a "care package". We are inviting members of our community to write letters, send toilet paper, Timmy's, whatever they like and we will send it over as a "*OUR TOWN* SUPPORTS YOU. Some of those soldiers may not have family writing to them and we thought it would be nice. That is how you support the troops real time. White's idea of supporting the troops is to detain all muslims in Canada. LOL
  8. Hey Whitedoor I said the "governement of the day". I didn't mention your precious Harper as he wasn't the one who made the decision now was he? DUH. That being said -- I do support our mission in Afghanistan. Did you miss Question Period the other day where the minister lauded all we've done for Afghanis? Schools, hospitals, etc. "Damn those Girly-Men Canadian military -- they should be killing children, not building schools!!! Those little buggers are all gonna grow up to be suicide bombers -- don't they know that!?" oops, sorry -- lapsed into being a rightwinger -- I'll try to not let that happen again.
  9. How can you and in the same breath say that the mission is doomed to fail and they troops should be withdrawn poste haste?See, simple minds simple answers. Unfortunately(?), the real world is much more complicated than the workings of your frontal lobe. Why in the sweet F**K would you feel the need to insult me? Did I (me, Drea, not someone else) SAY the mission was doomed to fail? In fact, I didn't mention the "mission" at all. Those in the military deserve our full support -- the govt of the day (and the decisions made by said govt) does not. Do you hate all the poor sob's who had to fight in Vietman because you didn't agree with it?(never mind, you probably agreed with it).
  10. "We support the fact that you are our military" "We support you and wish you health and safety in the face of the danger you are in". See? Support the troops without even mentioning the "mission". Easy peasy!
  11. Soldiers deserve our support. It is not their decision as to where they are "sent". We can only support them (the soldiers, not the mission) and hope for their safe return. When one signs up for the military, one must understand that they may be sent on a mission that is disagreeable to some portion of the population -- even if the mission is disagreeable to the soldier -- he/she has made a committment to the military and must follow orders.
  12. Isn't it just so totally awesome to be hated! Soooo coool -- now we are just like the USA!!!! (jumpin' up and down with joy) Whoo hooo -- P-A-R-T-Y! Git out the grits n beer Bubba -- the party's comin' to the land of the Maple Leaf. /sarcasm* *just in case you could not tell...
  13. Nah -- better suited for Coulter and Limbah... 'cause they really DO deserve to be stoned (No Rush, not THAT kinda stoned LOL) and George Bush and Cheney and O'Rielly. Oh and Ezra Levant too (why not throw a Canadian in there too!).
  14. BD -- if you're not "with 'em" you're obviously "against 'em". Some people can only see black and white.
  15. Let's ban cigarettes, cars, semitrucks, trains, factories, airliners, boats with engines, and farting... That way there will be clean air for all you crybabies. When I am outside I WILL smoke as much as I frigging want to. Tough luck, if you don't like it, go indoors.
  16. I don't give a rat's patoey what happened generations ago to your family -- apparently my ancestors had some run in with the Nazis...took away my inheritance (a big brewery in Austria) This has no affect on me today though. I am not going to use it as an excuse "poor me my ancestors were *insert atrocity here* so therefore I am useless. Give me a break.
  17. It is well known that there are gangs in Vancouver. There is a Vietnamese gang (probably a Chinese gang too) an Indo-Canadian gang and a gang called the UN Gang (all races), oh and of course the Hell's Angels. As far as I'm concerned all races participate in gangs/crime, not one race is immune. It does, however, seem that there are disproportionate numbers in ethnic gangs (per capita of each race).
  18. According to gay folks they don't choose to be gay, they are born that way. I don't know personally as I am not gay so I personally cannot say whether this is true. To be clear -- I was not comparing gays to handicapped folks -- simply pointing out the percentages thingy
  19. What does slavery and Jamaica have to do with the lack of fathers' participating in their children's upbringing in Canada in 2007? Our memories are not inherited -- like the Neadertal in the "Clan of the Cave Bear" books. So how does slavery, generations ago, affect a single mum in Toronto today? It doesn't that's how. Just another damn excuse to not raise kids properly.
  20. Less than 5% of the population is handicapped, yet buildings must be wheelchair accessible. Why are we making concessions for such a small portion of the populace? Hmmmm... No I don't have anything against handicapped folk -- just pointing out Kaptain's hipocracy -- "why make concessions for such a small percentage?"
  21. When it comes to family, I agree Scott. Whether or not gays marry is irrelevant tho. What's relevant is the fathers are missing, they are not in the child's life. Now, sometimes this is the fault of the father, but many times it is the fault of the mother. She either doesn't know who he is or doesn't care. Women need to realize that in order to raise a wellrounded kid they need the influence of both parents. That being said, I left my son's father and raised him on my own for seven years. I've since met a wonderful man who is a great father. Single moms out there -- LISTEN UP! -- someday your little baby boy is going to need a dad (he's fine now, he's only 3) and you had better start looking for someone appropriate NOW so he can bond with him BEFORE he becomes a teen and his peers overtake your motherly influence. (My kid has just become a teen and is doing what comes naturally -- he is pulling away from his mother) Best he have a good man to talk to than go on his own with no base. THAT! from the feminazi b*tch -- amazing innit Scotty.
  22. Mother Nature can be a real bitch LOL But we love her anyway -- 'specially when she makes the sun shine. I, actually, am personally responsible for the sun coming up today (the clouds were not my idea tho) as I prayed to my atheist-mothernature shrine last night -- and thank goodness I did or else the sun would still be asleep -- whew!
  23. 'At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [sept. 11, 2001], and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country.'" Yes, he says he wants to bring those naysayers around with another staged terror attack. Of course he doesn't say "staged", but we all know (those who think anyway) what he means. Next time it will probably be a dirty nuke -- to ramp up the "war on terrah". Denial is a river in Egypt
  24. Is there anyone with any concrete ideas on stemming the flow of guns from the south? They are obviously not legal guns owned by responsible gun owners. LOL -- we give the USA "valium" (pot) and they give us weapons and cocaine.... certainly not a fair trade -- we give you stuff to mellow out your population and you give us weapons to kill ours... IMO Anyone in Canada caught with an illegal weapon should get an automatic five years in prison.
  25. Sure "sounds" like...But it wasn't -- it was said by the Chairman of Arkansas Republican Party.
