  1. Anf this, presumably, makes you happy? If so, why? Because nothing is more pleasureable than seeing a bully go down. Even if we suffer as a result. Hey my house is almost paid for and my retirement all set. I don't see the empire's death throes as a threat to me personally, so yah I can laugh. edited to read "a" bully, rather than "the" bully.
  2. aha ha ha.... has to go back to "when we were 13 colonies we kicked British butt..." LOL The USA is dropping faster than the demolished buildings fall of 2001... It's a shame though, that Canada has put all her economic eggs in the US basket. The basket is falling apart and we are going to lose our eggs! Get ready for a rough ride folks (economically).
  3. I don't know what a "religious person" feels like as I have never been one. I did "feeeeel" one once, he felt the same as any other guy.
  4. I doubt that making Mennonite churches or Jewish synagogues open to the public (they already are) would assist the "end" of "eradicating" religion. Islam is a different story, since last I checked, sedition and treason laws were alive and well. I look at it this way... If the public had direct knowledge of what was being taught in mosques we would be better equipped to "deal" with Islam. Especially in western nations. If they are "moderates" and have nothing to hide then they should have no problem allowing people to drop in unannounced and even record what they are saying (for later analysis). All sermons from all denominations should be recorded and sent to a clearing house to be reviewed for any "hate". I want all religion to be under a microscope. To analyze it to death. I love being an ath... oh wait... I am an evangelical, militant, fundamental atheist (and damn proud of it too!) LOL you folks think you are insulting me (not you jbg) -- but your not. You are just adding fuel to my fire. Thanks!!
  5. You can sue even if the boy is at fault? Of course people should take responsibility for themselves. I am sure my coworker who had breast cancer (never smoked or was near smoke her entire life, so can't blame that) would feel differently. All of her treatments were covered by BC Medical. So it is NOT simply a matter of "take responsibilty" -- bad things do happen to good people.
  6. "the religion of atheism" -- this is an example of an oxymoron (your education continues!) And yes, atheism (a-theism -- the LACK of theism -- more education for you!) is catching on without a commie leader (eg Stalin) even forcing it down people's throats. People are abandoning religion in droves. They are realizing how religion has utterly bastardized the concept of "god" and are turning away from it. And this is a very good thing for humanity. But I am not greedy, I will be happy once Islam is gone because the rest are sure to follow. So Scotty, believe it or not we are on the same page -- we both want to rid the world of crazy religions.
  7. Wow. you have never met an illogical argument that you love to be on the wrong side of have you? You are in business? haha Then from your logic we have a 245 tier system! (there are 245 countries in the world). If you go to New Guinea for treatment does that mean Canada has a two-tier system? Come on now -- surely you understand... er, maybe not -- with your grade 8 education it must be difficult to wrap your brain around this very convoluted subject. con-vo-lu-ted -- a big word. Sorry Scott -- it means complex. No, no. not a building complex like your grandma's condo! Complex as in complicated.
  8. Scriblet, everyone (even lefty lefties) knows that there are dangerous people in Islam preaching hatred. No need to slam... There is even no need to bring any other religion into it. Let's deal with this problem first, we can tackle the rest of the religions later, once we have wiped out Islam. Don't think for one second that your religion is safe. If we are getting rid of Islam the rest will follow. This is my goal of my life. To see religion (starting with Islam) erradicated (or at the very least only allowed in the home). To that end all mosques should be open to the public anytime. I should be able to peek my head in there and find out what they are saying -- with an interpreter of course. LOL
  9. In another thread we are erradicating religion! It is so awesome. We are going to start with Islam. Get rid of it first and then all the other religions too. I am so happy! A world with no religion "Imagine" it!
  10. How? If you have the solution, please do share it with us. I am a realist -- really, we cannot kill all the muslims on earth, there are just too many of them. So what indeed should we do Scott? I agree that Islam should be stomped out (ideally all religion should be "stomped out", but let's start with Islam as it is the worst one) Yippeee! Finally! People who want to erradicate religion! I love you man!
  11. Peter, we should round up all of them (every muslim on earth) and kill them. Done. /sarcasm Scottsa and his ilk believe nothing can be done short of killing them all. Fundies of all stripes think the same way.
  12. One could also go to Britain or India (or anywhere else) for treatment. That does not mean we have a two tier system here at home. I think user fees would go along way to alleviating the backlog. Too many people go to doctors, er, the hospital for no reason whatsoever.
  13. Do you believe we should stop rich folks from going to the states for treatment? Do you think we should implement user fees (for doctor visits and er visits)?
  14. Open your eyes and READ! Did I say anywhere in ANY of my posts that we have the best system? No. I said that paying the states for treatment is NOT the same as having a two tier system in Canada. And no I do not want a two tier system. I want user fees. Friend was in emergency the other night... musta been 40 people ahead of him (daughter, bad earache). Maybe 20% of them had real emergencies. The rest were there sucking up time from the er staff for no reason. If they go to emerg for no reason they should be billed for it. How's that for two tier? LOL
  15. Again What would you have people do? Kill them all? You have to start somewhere. perhaps you should have watched the program rather than sit there and spout that "nothing will do any good anyway". What a defeatist attitude! btw What is a brownshirt? Brownies wear brown coloured shirts..... All religions are messed up and should be erradicated IMO. But barring that, we should at the very frigging least, laud those who TRY.
  16. A two tier system in CANADA would involve paying CANADIAN health providers. Get it yet? Do you think our govt should stop people from going to the states for treatment? I don't. I would not deny you the choice to leave the country for treatment if you so choose. BUT if you CANNOT leave the country for treatment I would NOT deny you full service (paid by taxes and premiums) here at home. It is NOT a two tier system when it involves going to a foreign country for treatment. Do you get it yet? I am getting tired of trying to explain the difference between PAYING in CANADA and PAYING in the states. oy yoy yoy....
  17. Silly! Treatment is not denied close to home -- it's paid for by taxes and premiums. IF you want to go to the states no one is stopping you. Don't you get it at all? The treatment here is COVERED by medical... you are not being denied treatment. If you have money you want to burn on a pimple extraction -- you can a.) go to the states and pay or b.) get it done here and save your money. Nothing denied. I bet the hospital would love a cash donation though. So if you really want to spend that money they would be happy to accept it -- and you would get a tax reciept!
  18. You obviously did not see the program. yes moderate leaders in Britain are speaking out. They had teen muslims in a pool tournament with British police. Brought them together in a fun way that made both sides realize they are all human beings that can laugh and some can't sink a ball for the life of them. The teens won the tourney. I bet they go home with more respect for the police than they had and what more can we do? Kill them all? At least they are trying. In the face of radical Islam, trying is something to be lauded not spat upon.
  19. No its not. If you PERSONALLY can afford to travel to the US for treatment good on you. But those who cannot afford to do so will get their treatment here -- paid by taxes and insurance premiums. No one is saying you cannot go and get treatment. At the same time you cannot deny treatment to those who cannot afford it. This is not a two tiered system. This is one person deciding to pay for treatment in a foreign country.
  20. And that is fine for him. If he can afford it all the power to him. But that should not take away from the rights of others who cannot afford to travel to the US for treatment. he'd go to the US for a pimple extraction, but wouldn't help his son who wrecked his car... sheesh.
  21. Of course her son could not move his family to be with him. There is no housing (hence he is in one room). All the power to him -- hope he makes fistfulls of Alberta money and ships it off to his wife in BC. Many many families are split up like Margrace and her son. If my hubby was younger I'd send him to the oil patch too!
  22. What if he is the one who ends up with no legs? How is he ever going to pay off his medical debt? What will he do for a living? He is only 16, not been to university yet or learned a trade... where will the money come from? Do you expect that he (legless) will get a student loan (who would loan money to someone in debt to the tune of $250,000?) and go on to university, earn a degree and get out making big bucks. Poor kid would probably end up committing suicide and you would be to blame. One mistake. You are a nasty father -- your kid makes one mistake and not only does he have no legs but he will never be debt free again. There will be ongoing treatment which will only add to his debt.
  23. On CNN last night -- Christina Amamanammmmpoor (sp LOL) A really good program about Muslims in Britain. Did anyone else see it? There are radicals that is for sure. But it does seem that some really levelheaded moderates are finally speaking out. Reaching out to young muslims. ...then so are the radicals "reaching out". One radical was arrested. All of them that spew hatred should be arrested. There was this muslim architect who had designed the largest mosque outside the middle east and wants to build it in London. It will hold 40,000 people. All mosques/churches/synagogues/temples should be open to anyone who wants to pray to god. This new building could be a "coming together" of religions. After all, they ALL worship the same "god", why not let anyone pray in any mosque/church/synagogue/temple? Would be a good way to "keep an eye on one another". *As a militant atheist, I would like to see religion wiped off the earth completely but barring that I would have them all join forces and pray together.
  24. How so? Family is important. Who are you getting your info from? The govt does not pay our bills. I don't know about you but I pay my own hydro... The govt does not look after our kids. Daycares (usually private -- a mom with an extra room or the YMCA) are paid by the working person. If working person earns lotsa dough then they pay for it, if not the govt kicks in so that the working poor can keep working. This is a bad idea? Is is better for a single parent to work at Zellers (getting a $300/month subsidy for daycare) or stay at home and collect welfare ($1000/month). Which is less? Which costs the taxpayer less? Of course. And when your 16 yo son wrecks his car -- do you want him to be saddled with a $250,000 debt for making a mistake by driving too fast? We do, we pay health insurance premiums on top of the taxes that are collected from us. So our medical system certainly is not "free". No way! Combine me and my car on one policy -- that is too funny. (and rather convoluted I would think). Well, the car is covered for scratches but your not! LOL
  25. Not to get off topic, but, this has me questioning.... Is the financial savings so great for these dresses that it pays to rent a car from Toronto and go to Buffalo and return, just to look at bridesmaid dresses? LOL You are too funny. Brides (of all cultures, not just the one's that wear white) will travel to the end of the earth to get a "perfect" dress.
