Maybe, just maybe these kids are not as "indoctrinated" as we are led to believe. You are correct Gost, if they had been raised as staunch muslims they would have been horrified at the prospect of "seeing" their prophet.
-
Shouldn't these children know better by this age? After all their indoctrination since birth, they should know not to name a teddy bear after the sacred prophet! /sarcasm Stupid people, stupid religion. We should all make cute stuffed effigies of "Mohammed" and drop them from airplanes all over the middle east. We could make it laugh like tickle me Elmo

UK Abortion Act is not working as intended
Drea replied to maldon_road's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
White Doors, (OMG we agree!) yes I would be agreeable to legislation that allowed for first trimester abortions only. Second trimester, under certain circumstances -- because there have been women whose periods continue and they do not know they are pregnant until other signs of pregnancy arise. Third trimester -- definitely not unless it is determined that the mother will die if the pregnancy continues... And I agree that those on welfare should not have MORE children -- especially all with different fathers. I would advocate that those on the government teat be forced to take birth control. Our tenant started when she was 17. She now has three little boys 10, 7 and an infant. All with different fathers. What does the future hold for her and her boys? How will she pay for their post secondary education? Will she have another one when this latest one reaches the age of 3? In BC single parents on welfare must start looking for work or begin a training program when the youngest reaches age three. So what do they do to keep the welfare coming in? Have another one at the taxpayer's expense -- sheesh! She really wants a girl so I expect she will get pregnant again. What a shame for her kids -- although she must be doing a pretty good job as they are good kids -- in hockey, soccer, etc. -
UK Abortion Act is not working as intended

How do I know "their" attitudes? I have an inside source -- myself. I know of many women who have had abortions. Some deeply regret it, others not so much. In my opinion abortion is a case-by-case issue. One cannot make blanket statements that "abortion is bad for all parties" because this is not true in all cases. That being said, I believe if you cannot make the decision in the first three months you do not get to have an abortion. If you waffle for that long, you are too unsure. Those of us who were/are absolutely without-a-doubt-sure that we wanted an abortion made sure it was done as soon as possible. In other words I believe that abortion should only occur within the first trimester. Because I used a "personal example" I am now ready for the "she-is-unfit-because-she-had-an-abortion" insults to fly my way. Have fun! -
UK Abortion Act is not working as intended

Do you seriously believe that women "enjoy" having abortions? That most women would choose to have to abort rather than take a little pill? Please provide a link proving that women use abortion as a form of birth control. Use a news site.. not a prolife site please. Let's have a real discussion on real stats not some wild-eyed propaganda. M'kay? And the women that do this -- is it not a good thing (as Brain Candy said) that they do not give birth? They are after all, unfit to raise children. Either one wants to have unfit women have abortions or they want unfit women to raise kids? Which is it? -

So Brain Candy, you are pro-choice then? You believe abortion is good thing because it takes "unfit" parents out of the equation? * welcome to MLW where you will find a diverse set of opinions.... ;-) White, most women agonize over the decision to abort. It's not an "easy" decision, as you put it. -
yup, people are still laughing about Pearl Harbor too... and they are laughing about 911 all the way to the bank. Whether one believes the official version of what happened on 911 or one of the many conspiracy theories, one must agree that Cheney (Haliburtion-head-office-in-Dubai) and his ilk did monetarily benefit and are still doing so. Do some research, connections between Cheney, Bilderberg , etal are easy to find.

Yah all those smilies are the mark of a veeeerrrry angry person. I have had a grrrreat day and your insults mean dick. "Let's blame all the natural disasters on people who don't believe in Jesus" see those thingies up there (above this line of text) they are smiling -- just like me! Cheers!

No, it's the Chrisian holidays that have hijacked previous celebrations should be looked upon skeptically. and how did ancients know when to get up in the morning? We know that the sun is at it's lowest point on or very close to Dec 21. We know this for sure without a shadow of a doubt. The "birthday" celebration for Jesus is not a certainty. That would be like me celebrating my birthday on July 1st (not the day of my birth) simply because the rest of the country celebrates and then telling everyone that their celebration has nothing to do with the country's anniversary, that it must be in honour of me! Now bow down heathens! Silly innit?
-
No it's not. Christmas began as a pagan celebration many years before people came to North America. Christmas Christians hijacked Winter solstice. Same with Spring solstice. They just "plunked" their guy's birthday/deathday in there so that it would be easier for pagans to "follow".

Yuppers... god is watching our backs! That's why the trade centres fell... that's why Katrina hit... that's why Krakatoa exploded... And what about Mexico city? They are chock full of devout catholics, yet your dastardly god saw fit to hit even them with an earthquake. What gives? God only likes whites that speak english or what? What a bas**rd he is! I would hate him if he were real. Technological advancement....? Western civilization was killing each other for some "heretical" reason or another... while the rest of the world had actual CIVILizations. This is, however, a really really good example of the logical "scientific" deduction of the religious...

Dion has Isolated himself....he thinks he's No.1
Drea replied to Canuck E Stan's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
1. Liberal does not mean "left". Only in the states does the word "liberal" directly mean "leftist-commie-lovin'-pinko". Here in Canada it is a centrist political party. The "left" is represented by the NDP and Greens. 2. Dion Sucks. He sucks so bad that I doubt if I will even vote next time around. If I do my vote will go to some obscure party... 3. Harper is doing ok... but that's only because he has a minority... 4. Under Liberal leadership Canada became... well Canada! If we had been under the conservatives for that many years, we could just as well call ourselves Americans... -
...hasn't read my tag line... What do you think Oleg? Did you watch the video? Do you believe the taser use was warranted?
-
OOOOhhhmmm... OOOOhhmmm.. Patience grasshopper, you too will see the light (of the taser as it blasts you) when you seek answers to your questions... I call a truce BC2004. We are gettin' nowhere and my sis just called and I.....gotta....... SHOP!
-
touche! Why though? You're making stuff up now BC2004! I am not "the volatile one". I am really quite patient for the most part. I am a Libra after all... You are the one who believes that simply asking questions instead of instantly following orders should lead to tasering.
-
On second thought, your child probably goes to his mom with questions as he knows just exactly how volatile you can be when asked to "explain" something. Once again -- I pity your poor kid.

Reading comprehension problems this morning BC? Where did I say that I personally don't like cops? I have never had a problem with the police. All three instances where I/we was/were pulled over (see above posts) I had no problem with the officer involved. Many people don't trust them because of situations in the video. I have respect for officers who use their position of power to difuse situations (like the ones that pulled me over) rather than escalating the problem as in this video.
-
So speaking to a person in a calm, sane, explanitory way is "kissing ass"? Your poor kid. the point is not that the driver didn't "assume the position". The point is the cop did not tell him WHY he was being arrested even though the guy kept asking and asking. But you will never understand so forget it. Go ahead live in your little paranoid world that everybody is a boogieman until proven otherwise. I'm going Christmas shopping!
-
Get real. Was the driver in the video "out of control" in any way? No, he was not. Was he drugged-out? No he was not. Did he yell at the cop? No he did not. Did he swear at the cop? No he did not. He did nothing to warrant tasering. Nobody said anything about being "above the law". The cop was paraniod, so much so that he believed this young father was a huge threat. The situation could have been easily diffused if the cop only took the time to explain the implications of refusing to sign. But better safe than sorry right BC2004? Better to risk the driver's life with a taser than to talk to him in a normal, sane manner... right BC2004. This shoot first mentality is why people distrust cops.
-
Paranoid freaked out cops (and BC 2004) think that all families in SUV's are Bonnie and Clyde. The cop could've said "look, if you don't sign the ticket, I have to cuff you and take you to jail. You can fight the ticket in court if you so wish." But he didn't, he chose to be an idiot and taser an innocent man. I bet if he would have told the driver this, the driver would have complied. Whatever happened to actually speaking to people, rather than ordering them to do something when they have no idea why they have to do it.

Hubby and I got pulled over a couple of years ago... brand new car. Cop says "Do you know why I am pulling you over?" Hubby says "Dunno -- broken tail light?" and laughs. We were going 20k over the limit and we got off with a warning. The cop appreciated hubby's sense of humour. The world needs more cops like him. And less like the cop in the video. Paranoid, freaked out cops always cause more trouble than necesssary. A few years ago I got pulled over in my new little sportscar. The cop gushed over my cute little car but she still gave me a ticket. As I knew I was speeding I didn't argue. I've had a total of three tickets in my 25+ years of driving. I will never forget the first time I got pulled over. I was 16, driving my 1975 Civic at 140kms/hour. The cop that pulled me over gave me a warning, he said "These little cars blow up when you drive that fast!" Not only that but I was so nervous I was shaking like a leaf when I handed him my DL and registration. He COULD HAVE taken that as suspicion that I was doing more that just speeding but he was an older cop and knew I was just a very scared 16 year old. If the same thing would happen today I bet the cops would tear my car apart and throw me in jail for "shaking suspiciously". Cops are waaaay too paranoid these days.
-
BC 2004, watch the video and then tell us that this driver was "out of control" or "acting crazy" or "insulting the cop" or ANYTHING else that would lead a sane person to use the taser. Can a person be hauled off to jail for refusing to sign a speeding ticket? Geezuz Kryst!.
-
Respect the law ... or die? Come on now, do you really believe you should be tasered for going 60 in a 50 zone just because speeding is against the law? -- Saw a video last night on You Tube. A young father got pulled over. The cop asked him to get out of the vehicle. He got out and was proceeding to point (with his empty hand) the speed limit sign. The cop immediately pulled out the taser and shot him with it. This was all caught on the police car video. Watch it for yourself. Do you believe the cop was using the taser in a responsible manner? Do you believe the cop was NOT overreacting to the situation? Tasered for Speeding Speed and DIE... ? Really BC2004? You've never broken the speed limit? Have a look at the video... Shirley U. Jest! The cop is totally ridiculous. He refuses to read his rights. He refuses to tell him how fast he was going. He refuses to tell him why he is being arrested. Can a person really be sent to jail for NOT signing a speeding ticket? Geez. I am going to try to get pulled over and I am going to refuse to sign the ticket to see what happens. It will be worth the speeding fine just to find out. Does anyone know what happens if you refuse to sign the ticket? Don't you just have to go to court over it at a later date? Does signing the ticket mean you agree that you were speeding (even if you believe you weren't)? Does signing the ticket mean you agree and cannot fight it later in court? Help! I've not had a speeding ticket that wasn't warranted (heh!) so I really would like to know. of course I know the laws would differ between the states and Canada.... anybody?

Your home address, your bank account and all your purchases are recorded each time you swipe your debit card. Or if you have one of those "grocery store cards" or "airmiles points" anytime you use a card of any kind the information is recorded. I'm ok with chipping cards but I will never allow an implanted chip.

Yup all people in sales are corrupt individuals. Fer shur. Does his being a car salesperson really have anything to do with his expenses being investigated? .... Unless he bribed people by providing them with vehicles... and from the article, this doesn't seem to be the case.
