Ont. dad arrested after daughter draws picture of gun
huh replied to olpfan1's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Both sides are equally guilty on different subjects. As for your last point the majority of Canadians, ie the non far left group, feel that for some crimes harsher punishments are in order, they are correct, the far right wants people to go to jail for pot, they are wrong. Then again the same people who wanted the gun registry also want more rehabilitation and less incarceration, so in other words lets watch generally very harmless people while giving known criminals a second - third - etc chance. Conservatives on the other hand say no, lets focus on the people actually guilty of a crime, and while i disagree, pot is illegal, and hes been for a long time. So it seems to me punishing those who break the law is more consistent than keeping a close eye on legal gun owners. -
Yea sorry, i like to have evidence before i persecute people, maybe its that logical part of me that causes me to despise the likes of you. Imagine! Evidence, pshaw.

These crazy stories wouldnt exist if it wasnt for people just like you. Try to cloak your attitudes in some sort of rational thought but there in the background is the constant irrational fear of guns. -
MandaTORY Minimum Sentences Do Not Work
huh replied to cybercoma's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
A child molester in prison is unlikely to offend again as long as they stay there, mandatory sentences can work, but not in the case of things like pot that shouldn't be illegal to begin with. -
good try...anyway, if you guys are going to post every link or piece of paper that doesn't prove the cpc directed someone to direct people to the wrong polling station i suggest you get comfy, you're going to be at it for a while. I hope the person(s) responsible are caught and prosecuted, REGARDLESS OF WHO THEY ARE, but that takes real evidence, not dreams.

No that's not true, even Ontario has exception whereby a small game hunter doesn't have to wear orange outside of the gun season for big game, turkey hunters as well.

Yet so many women are happy doing just being women, you make it sound like every woman, or man, has career aspirations..liberal garbage.

How many white families have killed 4 other women in their family because they behaved dishonaorably in their eyes and the eyes of thier religiion? Go ahead, I dare you, find one, now I know that being a liberal you are desperate to hold on to the multi cultural dream so its impossible for you to see the truth here, but go ahead if you can, find one other example that ticks off these boxes. This is nothing like one white guy killing his wife, keep trying, you're failing miserably.

You have not once, not ever, produced an argument that supports the registry in real terms, beyond because the RCMP said so. I dont care what the RCMP wants, they work for us, not the other way around, why dont you ask the RCMP what they are going to do to reduce the 150+ knife murders a year (not that its possible), perhpas you could suggest they focus on that problem before they spend their time and our money lobbying to keep a registry that is aimed at firearms used in about 3 homicides a year. Or better yet, you could just stop, accept the obvious fact that you don't, have not, and will never have anything sensible to say about this subject and move on to something else.

One mans freeedom fighter is another mans terrorist I suppose, but then if some people in this country decide to carry out an 'uprising' of some sort i suppose other people could be equally justified in putting down that uprising, weather it be the government representing the majority or the public at large. Lets say the government increased spending by 20 percent and in return completely washed its hands of the native people, in other words here's your money, live well. If that worked out i think everyone would agree it was worth the extra spending just to put this issue to bed, but what if it didn't? Could we then look at those in charge, the native leadership, and ask them why they couldn't make it work? Or would we still be stuck in this forever cycle of blaming the government for now giving them what they have always wanted?

So, just so i am clear cybercoma, if I want to have sex and my wife doesn't, will I be sexually assaulting her if I indicate disappointment with her decision either verbally or in body language or elsewhere. Im not talking about chasing her around the house begging, im talking about a genuine disappointment and frustration, you know, emotions, men have them too. I have read exactly that from feminists, just the display of disappointment is coercion, so, how deep down the rabbit hole are you, am I as a man sexually assaulting, in a way raping my wife, if i display anything but a smile and a 'yes dear' if she says not tonight?

Well hey, just convince all of those people working in that industry in that area to stop doing so, hard to kill the fish when no one is there to do the work. O but surely it's only because the rest of us aren't listening, not because locals like to work for a living.

The Harper Government, Sun Media and EthicalOil.org
huh replied to cybercoma's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well, if the left can get it's funding for environmental causes from outside the country, why is it that every time the gun debate flares up the far left trots out the outside influence of the NRA, even though no actual proof of funding or connection can be found? In fact the NRA isn't allowed to send money our way, but hey, when it's a liberal cause, it's righteous, anything goes. -
Potter: The Conservatives ... the party of the deeply stupid

Decent, intelligent people, develop their own philosophies. -
When was the last time you had anything intelligent to say on this subject? You have obviously run out of reasonable thoughts so why don't you just move along. If you don't want to be harmed while entering my home uninvited, don't enter my home, that is a simple rule, unfortunately in Canada because too many people sympathize with those who might do you harm, it isn't that cut and dried. No, I don't think you should just kill a guy for breaking in, but there is a very fine line between being a thief or a danger, it should not be up to the victim to assume that risk, that should be the criminals risk to assume. If that means that a criminal gets shot in the act by a home owner who felt threatened even though no weapon is to be found, so be it, we all have choices to make in life, I chose not to be shot at by home owners while breaking and entering, others may choose differently. I choose not to be a roofer, I don't like heights, or falling from them...simple choices.

You have a direct line into his consciousness? What a stupid thing to say. Maybe he thinks that if pipelines are good enough in other places all over the world they are good enough in BC, maybe if super tankers can navigate the bay of fundy they can manage the coast of bc. Or is bc just too special? Perhaps those of you who don't want these projects to happen should convince british columbians, natives included, to stop using all products derived from oil since they seemingly don't want to share in the risks involved in its production. There is probably more petroleum products spilled at gas stations and via leaky gas tanks everyday than what comes from the pipelines in this country.

Well played sir, well played indeed.

I don't see why this matters, from what I have seen Mulclair comes across as an asshole, which is maybe more of a problem.

How councillors coalesced to defeat Mayor Rob Ford
huh replied to mentalfloss's topic in Local Politics in Canada
Surely every activity and entitlement is essential and we must spend, spend, spend, until bankruptcy at which time there will be no spending for anyone, including on those things that are nesecary, but hey, you can always tax those of us with jobs even more, surely the time and effort we put into creating our livelihoods needs to be punished. -
So you're "tired" of people comparing the acts of americans to their enemies? Perhaps you shouldn't have opened that can of worms then by claiming the above, it was you who started this.
-
I agree, it was a stupid thing to do, the reality is that this only puts those soldiers in more danger. War is hell.

I think you might want to look up 'argument from silence' and read it a bit closer this time, that goes for everyone else too, if Im wrong OK, but that still doesn't seem to make your belief that urinating on a corpse is a horrible crime, disrespectful no doubt. Im sure they will be punished accordingly, but that act is in no way worthy of statements like "Way to stoop to the level of those you condemn" your words, when you consider acts of the Taliban, it's just that simple. Isn't it terrible that some people look at the world in a logical way, it really doesn't fit well with your view points, i wonder why that might be. In any case, you can misapply any descriptor you like, I will just call your arguments no argument at all. I think if you could do more than argue about the method of arguments (albeit wrongly imo) of other posters, you would. It really bothers you doesn't it?

Major music labels to dump CD format in 2012
huh replied to olp1fan's topic in Health, Science and Technology
There is no difference in output quality using any digital cable, period. Analog signals, can possibly/maybe be affected by different materials, however most testing shows no audible difference between the highest end speaker wire and lamp cord. The quality of the speakers and the power available to them are really all that matters so long as you are using a cd/dvd/bluray source. FYI, Bose is garbage.
