So i guess im wealthy, i dont feel wealthy. I feel like a guy who works for a living, as does his wife, both unionized, different jobs, just average working people. Why is the left attacking me? Why am i a bad person for having succeeded? Why is their ideology so broken? I literally started with nothing, believe it or not, i am not the evil rich guy, i pay my taxes, why punish me? Ill tell you what, if the left will admit that i got what i have by being more intelligent and more hard working than most i will accept an increase. Im sure the 20 percent of Canadian homicide victims who are stabbed to death each year will be pleased that they weren't amongst the 2 percent of victims that were shot to death with a registered long gun. To believe that fuel prices reflect supply and demand you would have to prove that the net change in those factors equates to a 10 percent change in price in a week, it simply cant be done, the world doesn't change that fast. Just like the relationship between the price of a barrel of crude and the price of a litre of gas changed by 40 percent the summer before the recession, supply and demand could not account for that. Its profit taking, and frankly I care less about the price than i do about the bullshit excuses, but if the price doesn't settle down our economies are going to be stuck in this yoyo cycle, our prosperity is too tied into the price of fuel.

INDIVIDUAL responsibility, there are individuals of all kinds of bad circumstances who turn to crime, are those individuals given the same consideration for their difficulties? Does it matter to the poor inner city kid that comes from a broken violent home that he isnt a poor native kid from similar circumstances when he is arrested and sentenced? Or do we judge that person based upon their actions alone? Everyone should be given some consideration for their background, but not just because they happen to belong to a certain racial group, everyone can make the right or wrong choices, everyone needs to be responsible for those choices.

Im sure its been said, but it would be more sensible to get rid of these competitions all together. Then you come across the possibility of men competing as women in athletics, do we allow the more accepted version of a woman to be beaten by the more manly women, or does everyone compete with each other and women almost never win anything? I do not envy anyone who feels as though their body does not match their mind, but how do we accommodate everyone? Gender may be a continuum but the majority, the vast majority, fall on the middle of the curve, that has lead to a normalization of many gender roles and identities, those that feel they are the other sex from what they appear to be fall outside of the norm. How far do we go to change our society to accommodate what is a relatively very small number of people? Life truly isnt fair, and it never will be.

Well whatever happens i hope they buy something, hopefully the government will by more jets if they go with a cheaper alternative, after all, much of the opposition to this aircraft is more to do with military spending of any kind than it is to do with the suitability of this particular aircraft.

And a rapist, btw, since there is no statute of limitations on sexual assault why should a sentence be reduced if the time between the last assault (proven) and prosecution is a long one? Haven't we all been told by women's groups for a long time that sexual assault is a terrible thing to endure, should we now punish those who come forward years later by allowing there attacker to get off easier? Why do we need to have so much concern for the life of a man who raped teenage boys? Are we so weak as a society that we need to be lenient on the worst of us in an attempt to protect the rest of us? Why cant we objectively agree the we don't need people like James in our society, he adds nothing that cannot be outweighed be his crimes and his greater likelihood of committing more crimes. If the judge had the ability, and could have sentenced him to life in prison, just what as a society would we have lost? Is the fear that harsh sentences for terrible crimes would lead to other harsh sentences for say shop lifting? Are we really that simple minded? Maybe, but i think we can do better by victims.

So the results of a by election in a riding that has been ndp for quite some time, in the riding that was held by its now dead previous leader, who was as loved as any politician by a party's supporters, in Toronto, and we are trying to read some sort of political message into the result? lol

It seems to me that you write a lot while saying nothing at all. Investigate, prosecute, punish, anything less is as big an affront to our democracy as these allegations, try being consistent in your philosophy.

Prove they coordinated the sick call..you cant. They get fired, they sue, they win, simple as that. If you wont let people collectively bargain you are going to pay for it in the long run, I fully expect more delays, more lost baggage and worst service in general, the government didn't do the public any favors, it doesn't matter if you condone these actions, they are as inevitable as human nature.

Doesn't this have to do more with what the money is spent on? For example, if Quebec heavily subsidizes child care at the expense of tax payers elsewhere is that just a ok? You might have an ideological reason for supporting child care everywhere, but i don't think that gives you the right to demand that others who either disagree, or do not have that luxury, pay for it for you. If another province doesn't have nearly the debts yours does and doesn't provide the same entitlements yours does, should that other province subsidize your entitlements? I think that's immoral. How about every province bankrupts itself as badly as Quebec, where will the money come from? Just keep taxing until we are a quasi communist state with no economy? It cant work the way things are presently going.
