Obama was a Black community activist which alone indicates he is pro-culture. I think the Democrats made a terrible error nominating Obama for president initially. Now we have an individual as president that does not represent majority U.S. White culture. We now have an individual that will no doubt drag cultural issues into mainstream politics (like Canada) as being the main or primary focus of his term as president both at home and possibly abroad. English and French are only offical on the federal level outside of Quebec who unilaterally made French the official language of Quebec on a provincial level. English is the de facto language in all of Canada. If some Quebecers don't learn it that is their problem.

Race is involved. Francophones belong to a race like anyone else and they racially discriminate by imposing a minority foreign language (component of race and culture) on people intending to immigrate to Quebec. This racial discrimination also extends to cultures other than francophones currently living in Quebec.

BTW- French is the mother tongue of 82% of Quebecers and English is the mother tongue of 10% of the population. In fact, over 40% of the population is bilingual.
