  1. Due to the length of your post we will address a single issue at a time. Prior to the Charter we had both federal and provincial human rights code, the federal one being the Canadian Bill of Rights along with separate provincial human rights protection. Pertaining to language rights Quebec has always had the right to it's language, religion and civil law within the confines of it's borders. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms is an extreme left wing application of dictated rights that advances Quebec interest without the federal government ever implementing a national referendum to allow Canadians of all political affiliations to decide decide the Quebec language question. How can a government possibly or fairly ever arrive at a conclusion (pertaining to the Charter) when it is totally engulfed with political biases, at that time Liberal biases. To make matters even worse Sec.16(3)- states-Nothing in this Charter limits the authority of parliament or a legislature to advance the equality of status or use of English and French. We know they are not making reference to the English language. This is totally undemocratic and condescending to Canadians who believe in a free democratic society. How can you possibly advance the rights of a French minority language when it has no legal authority outside of it's own province? This is outright discrimination of the worst possible kind being implemented by a Liberal government who obviously assumed no one other party would ever be in power.
  2. Not sure who's telling you thiose numbers but I would highly doubt if the launch of the Post created 25 new jobs. The post was piggy backed on the Financial Post, which by then was a daily tab, The NP's circulation handled mainly by existing southam products. It's launch was the worst kept secret in Toronto, as the headhunters has been poaching staff for month..... And since Southam was sold to Global, staff cuts have been regular and to the bone. Yeah, most of the NP staff were already Southam employees....so maybe 25 new jobs...probably 15 Why was Southam sold to Global initially? Your missing the point as Conrad Black continued to keep the old operations viable.
  3. I do not understand the question. This is perfectly understandable and only fuels the need for government to control undesirable immigration.
  4. Their food tastes better than our food and we are tooooo lazy to cook. It is sad indeed Canadians are dying in the pursuit freedom and democracy only to have in our own country rights abused by sub-cultures and thrown back into the faces of the creators, the primarily majority English speaking, White Christian Canadians.
  5. Back from classes? The October crisis was in fact in 1970 and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms was enacted in 1982. SO WHAT? What I said was in effect Quebec terrorist started the process demanding federal action which DID invariably result with the discriminatory Charter of Rights and Freedoms. I say discriminatory since the Charter is basically consist of Canada's previous human rights code with a section devoted to 'OFFICIAL LANGUAGES' with the emphasis on the 'FRENCH' language which hinges on 'Guarantee of Rights and Freedoms', 'Fundamental Freedoms', Democratic Rights', 'Mobility Rights', Legal Rights', 'Equality Rights', 'Minority Language Educational Rights' and 'Enforcement'. The English language never required any 'official status'. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms was designed especially for Quebec and not the English Canada. The federal government in other words gave Quebec ( an aloof minority group) the 'rights' to the country of Canada. The argument concerning the topic of this post is: "What gives? Is Quebec riding in the same boat Muslim's and Islam are in and that is is over sensitivities and bigotry and racist notions concerning culture, race and religion?" http://www.canada.com/montrealgazette/news...b4d&k=76406 So far the argument rotates around the fact on whether you think 'Charter of Rights and Freedoms' is a disturbing factor concerning 'intolerance' among sub-cultures'. Do you understand the question?? Do you agree or do you not agree that in fact the 'Charter' is a piece of garbage designed by left wing politicians and serves no real purpose other to discriminate against majority concerns?? Do you understand this statement?? Please give your reply if you are able to. Or you can address the original concern: "What gives? Is Quebec riding in the same boat Muslim's and Islam are in and that is is over sensitivities and bigotry and racist notions concerning culture, race and religion?" Do you understand the question??? Please feel free to give your response.
  6. Sacred to whom? By whose definition? Some classical music afficionados consider Mozart's pieces as "sacred". Especially the 'Requiem' and the 'Coronation Mass' which was dedicated to the Holy Faith and church related purposes. But what we are basically talking about AGAIN is free speech, self censorship and Islam. I am convinced Muslims and Islam are not adaptable to modern civilization and belong back in the dark ages where they belong. Their stringent religious beliefs are not compatible with free, democratic countries. Which begs to answer the question: Why are countries like Canada continuing to allow immigration from Arab Muslim countries?
  7. Reality check: World powers ARE dealing with it.
  8. I didn't distort anything you've said. The reason why I don't understand what you are saying is because you are not backing up your statements with arguments. You make statements like "Sec. 15.1 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms is the source of all the problems related to discrimination..." but you fail to explain specifically HOW? Give me some specific examples, and perhaps I'll have something to debate. If you make statements without some sort of argument and/or examples, it's pretty hard to have a debate. So, I will reiterate, how is sec 15.1 of the charter the source of all problems related to discrimination? Let's talk about one initial group it opens the door to legally discriminate against other Canadians and that is Quebec. Without the Charter Quebec would not be in the position to discriminate against English speaking Canadians or for that matter even establish themselves as a viable group different from other Canadians. Normally to achieve these rights, like any other country, in this case, Quebec not being a country but a mere province, they would have to earn these rights by themselves and not be given this type of legislation without a national referendum. As a matter of fact Quebec terrorist started the process to extract favourable demands from the federal government in the same manner Muslim terrorist are trying to force the world to respect and recognize it's religion utilizing terror. I find it difficult that you don't understand when you are GIVEN legislated rights that it is much easier for those groups to utilize those rights to discriminate against others in different ways if so desired. Also I don't understand how you possibly cannot understand that this is my basis to form the argument you requested.
  9. It looks like radical Muslims have achieved for moderate Muslims what moderate Muslims would never be able to achieve by themselves. And that is a FORCED RESPECT for THEIR religion utilizing terror tactics. http://today.reuters.co.uk/news/articlenew...TS-RELIGION.xml
  10. gc1765 It seems you don't understand what I am saying and I don't understand your total inability not to understand. If you want to play word games or purposely destruct or distort what I said, you do it by yourself. Sec. 15.(1) of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms is the source of all the problems related to discrimination as you cannot legislate rights based in a society driven by DEMOCRATIC concerns without major problems. The governments job is to protect the rights of Canadians not legislate and promote rights according to their interpretation or whim. It is society's responsibility to establish it's own social concerns like they do in Quebec, not governments. Equality SEC.15(1) is is failing badly especially in Quebec. Just ask any White English speaking or Black English speaking Canadian presently living in Quebec. Where is the EQUALITY???
  11. Judging from a Black homeland with 18,000 murders a year, you could be right. http://ipsnews.net/news.asp?idnews=33527
  12. Quebecers themselves have become intolerant to others as a resulted of their artificial elevated positon afforded to them by Charter rights. Some immigrant groups have also become intolerant to others because of their artificial positon afforded to them by Charter rights. All I am saying is 'official multiculturalism' is magnifying and increasing intolerance right across Canada relating to all groups. The second part of your question: "Secondly, how does official multiculturalism give immigrants more benefits than the "winner" (which I assume you mean native quebecers, though I don't understand how they've "won" anything)? The whole point of the charter of rights and freedoms is to give equal rights to everyone, not to give more rights to some people than others." The 'winner' was an analogy to what can be viewed by some Canadians including Quebecer's as the 'White ,English speaking, Christian Canadian or the dominant group in Canada (winners). For the federal government give away rights (Charter of Rights) to groups to 'equalize' the White, English dominant factor does not really work as it creates cultural sub-categories and results in minority dominant groups. It also discriminates against the White, English speaking majority. Where is the EQUALITY?
  13. Multiculturalism itself does not necessarily lead to intolerance. But it is a fact in many countries do not welcome outsiders and are subjected to discrimination. 'Official Multiculturalism Policy' is what leads cultures to intolerance. It encourages bigotry and racism. Ok, then how does mutliculturalism "fan the flames of bigotry and racism" as you put it earlier? And how does 'Official Multiculturalism Policy' lead to intolerance? How does it encourage bigotry and racism? When I refer to multiculturalism I am making reference to 'official multiculturalism' relating especially to the 'Charter of Rights and Freedoms'. Intolerance is basically bigotry and racism which can lead to outright discrimination. You ask 'How does 'official multiculturalism' encourage bigotry and racism? It does this by 'legally' giving a group or groups elevated recognition above other groups that do not have that legal recognition or simply do not have the numbers within that group to obtain the same type of leverage to counteract. As a result this could leave the smaller group open to, or prone to intolerance, legally speaking. An analogy to 'Official Multiculturalism' can presented in the form of a 'winner' of some event and then the government comes up with a law, stating all other contestants who were included in this event will have the same benefits or even more than the 'winner'. This of course does not make sense and neither does 'Official Multiculturalism'.
  14. What I do know know is that Stephen Harper is a White, Christian. Is this supposed to be EVIL?
  15. Your post has been reported. To whom? Ernst Zundel? Let me know if he's in any condition to defend the white christian values you parade around..... Like I said my values are Canadian and are mostly the same values as what the prime minister of this country cherishes.
  16. And how does multiculturalism lead to intolerance? Multiculturalism itself does not necessarily lead to intolerance. But it is a fact in many countries do not welcome outsiders and are subjected to discrimination. 'Official Multiculturalism Policy' is what leads cultures to intolerance. It encourages bigotry and racism.
  17. Your post has been reported.
  18. Chretien was just being mean spirited in denying Conrad Black's the Queen's appointment to the House of Lords. I don't believe there is ANY law preventing him from doing that. He was a dual citizen of Canada and Britain. Furthermore in 2001 Terry Matthews and George Bain head of the Queen's University in Belfast, both Canadian citizen's were awarded knighthood by the Queen. I think Mr. Black should be given back his Canadian citizenship as the reason he renounced his Canadian citizenship at the time was because this knighthood was very special to him and would have remained Canadian if Mr. Chretien wouldn't have been so mean. What really makes my blood boil is someone like Pierre Vincent a federal civil servant who refused the oath of allegiance to the Queen (Head of State) and still gets to keep his federal job.
  19. Hope to God you are not one of the selective Canadians who with the powers of 'official multiculturalism' chooses to discriminate against English speaking, Christian Canadians. What I'am is a Canadian who upholds Canadian values and that is all that is important to me. You are ignoring the topic and that is the damaging aspect of multiculturalism in Canada and how it is creating NEW levels of bigotry and racism.
  20. Well, you have this one: http://72.14.207.104/search?q=cache:0OMRko...t=clnk&cd=6
  21. "so called" minorities Why the "so called"? Society can be broken down into thousands of groups with thousands considered minorities within those groups. So, why is the 'minority title' given to only certain groups in Canada who have proven and are capable of acting as dominant groups with subordinate groups under them? Why this senseless contradiction? Why is any power advantage given to 'so called minorities' by our noble self righteous, undemocratic government?
  22. This is not about immigration per se. This is about how official multiculturalism is fanning the flames of bigotry and racism by allowing so called minorities to advance their cultural and religious claims. I thought multiculturalism is suppose to be the answer to 'eliminate' bigotry and racism, to even the odds, not advance it.
  23. What's all this intolerant stuff in Quebec. I know Quebec society are intolerant of the Anglos but now we learn they are also intolerant of their own chosen immigrants. What gives? Is Quebec riding in the same boat Muslim's and Islam are in and that is is over sensitivities and bigotry and racist notions concerning culture, race and religion? http://www.canada.com/montrealgazette/news...b4d&k=76406
  24. Government IS the uncontrollable nature of human desires for power and control. Granted, the government is the upper level pertaining to a countries social hierarchy. But we a talking about the lower level multitude of multicultural power seeking groups with some struggling to achieve the status and power of the ruling government. This of course undermines democracy, national values and destroys personal initiative and slowly bankrupts the country. Official Multiculturalism destroys the prospect of national unity, kills the spirit and confuses the mind adding to the decay that could cause nations to deteriorate and collapse.
  25. I don't know how you can call Canada the greatest nation in the world especially when Canada does have severe problems with multiculturalism. The only reason they are presently dormant is the federal government keeps throwing away huge amounts of tax payers dollars, federal powers and constitutional rights to keep it that way. The multicultural bubble could burst before the feds run out of financial ammo, federal powers and constitutional rights to give away. It's simply a matter of time either way. Pacifying the uncontrollable nature of human desires for power and control can only be conquered with strong government leadership and not simply buying time.
