Your personal experience with Canadian Aboriginals
Leafless replied to Higgly's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
I can't do that, that is using special charter legalities that simply are not available to regular Canadians or whatever the legal definition is supposed to be defining a Canadian. The only special interest groups that are entitled to legal privileges over regular Canadians are primarily Quebecers and Aboriginals, privileges that they use on a regular basis defining their distinctiveness for more power and money. The latter would have be excluded if the emphasis for special treatment did not involve cultural concerns, but the government had no option but to include them also. The charter was made and designed for Quebec to advance it's racist ideologies in a twisted legal sense made possible by the countries foremost expert in oppression and discrimination Pierre Trudeau and his communist type pinko's. -
Your personal experience with Canadian Aboriginals
Leafless replied to Higgly's topic in Provincial Politics in Canada
I once knew an aboriginal family and their no different than anyone else. Being an 'Official Multicultural Country' I suppose they LEARNED like other OFFICIAL RECOGNIZED GROUPS to squeeze as much as they can out of the country in the name of 'charter rights and freedoms'. Can't say I blame them! -
Question about special characters...
Leafless replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Support and Questions
Whether it is against house rules is really beside the point as the use of 'special characters ' in colourful ways constitutes in most cases, low class provocation. -
Well, it looks like the U.S. won't be apoligizing to Maher Arar and for that matter doesn't even mention in a letter to Foreign Affairs minister Peter MacKay, that will neither have his name removed from the U.S. watch list. Ah, the sensibilities of the U.S. concerning Mr. Arar's unreliable, unproven information should be a 'wake up call' to all undemocratic pandering socialist, who are ready at any moment to sell Canada's national security system down the sewer in the name preserving and supporting it's flawed, racist, official multicultural policy. http://www.canada.com/montrealgazette/news...dc3&k=48326

"Not a normal religion" magnifies what I am talking about and that is homicidal maniacs murdering people under the name of Islam. The Pope knows Islam is a violent, political religion, especially followed in a strict sense by Arab countries. Why would the Pope even want to acknowledge this religion as a religion, in comparison to what religions are normally all about. Modern religions may be defined as the presence of a belief in the sacred or the holy concerning non-violent personal convictions. For the Pope to extend 'cordial greetings' especially concerning Arab followers of Islam is akin to approving the violent conduct of homicidal maniacs.

Closer Anglosphere Alignment needed
Leafless replied to jbg's topic in Canada / United States Relations
The inevitable being the absorbtion of Western culture by Middle Eastern culture? I am not familiar with the 'Charter of Rights and Freedoms'. What changes did it bring which are detrimental to the English speaking majority? You should have included in your quote, the whole quote "English speaking, Christian majority." What the Charter does is tend to forcefully equalize basically, language and religion from being traditionally dominated by a traditional majority. Relating to Islam and Muslims is a very strict domineering religious, political religion that it seems the federal government is incapable of controllng it's negative influence on Canadian society. It should be noted that almost every country in the world enjoys it's traditions, a majority religion and other values built and supported by the MAJORITY of it's citizens. I don't think anyone would argue that these common ingredients is what forms the fabric of ANY given country other than Canada. In Canada with the advent of the 'Charter of Rights and Freedoms' basically forcefully deletes majority interest of it's cherished values and allows GOVERNMENT to DICTATE traditional values. This of course is absolutely DISCRIMINATORY and OPPRESSING concerning our concept of democracy with this type government intervention to employ state control, controlling aspects of religion, language and other national traditional values originally concerning the traditional will of the majority. Canada is the ONLY country in the world that caters to minorities with an 'official multicultural policy including the Charter of Rights and Freedoms' that is totally destructive to majority concerns. You must ask yourself why NO other country in the world has ever attempted to take language and culture and to unilaterally dictate legislation according to the potentially conflicting views of the present federal government in power? Naturally this is a recipe for disaster, as it pits one group against the other and it will only be a matter of time before the whole concept of 'official multiculturalism' comes crashing down. I suggest you download a copy of the flawed 'Charter of rights and Freedoms' and examine the rights in the document and notice how rights are supported and bounce from one area to the other and including no restrictions to the promotion of certain rights by the federal government. -
Al-Qaeda Warns Canada to Quit Afghanistan
Leafless replied to scribblet's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
These al-Qaeda threads are becoming a pain in the butt. Read my lips----We are ALLOWING ISLAMIZATION and there is no one to BLAME but countries that allow Muslim immigration. Al-Qaeda probably would not be saying what their saying relating to Canadians in Afghanistan if it were not for the success of many terrorist attacks instilling fear into countries of the world along with the fact of heavily Muslim populated European countries. Canadians should not even be in Afghanistan due to the total inability to eliminate the al-Qaeda threat from countries that harbour Arab terrorist groups. Terrorist continual use the old terrorist manoeuvre of hiding and blending in with civilian populations to make their destruction impossible. Like I said in another thread, if these countries do not actively pursue and destroy Arab Muslim terrorist groups, then countries of the world have no other alternative then to totally isolate these countries or destroy them. -
Is Sharia Law Being Practiced In Canada
Leafless replied to betsy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
WHO CARES! Muslims do what they want regardless and when they don't like what you say, threaten the unfaithful with violence, AKA TERRORISM. Countries better get off their butts and better start thinking about the old 'fish in the pond trick'. Maybe it's time to drain the pond. -
Homosexual relating to homosexuality= "1. feeling or involving sexual attraction only to persons of the same sex." Quoted from the Concise Oxford Dictionary. I really don't know how a brochure against homosexuality can be considered 'hate mail' as it is not pertaining or identifying any particular person. This could be compared to a brochure against 'heterosexuality', saying most Christians are heterosexual and we consider this to be obscene, indecent and immoral. So what? If you don't like it don't read it. If you are afraid or ashamed of what you are I can understand why there would be complaints in this area.

"Quebec Environment Minister Claude Bechard said Thursday the province still wants $328 million from Ottawa to battle greenhouse gas emissions." http://www.thestar.com/NASApp/cs/ContentSe...ol=968350116467 Absolutely no respect for a new government and it's leader I think and a cheap way to try to bilk Canadian tax payers out of $328M. The facts are Canada produces only 2% of the world's greenhouse gases. http://www.canadiansolution.com/whatkyotoisnot.asp Technically speaking pollution = $$$ concerning JOBS and Canada does NOT have much to worry about in this regard, as relating to it's total greenhouse gas emissions compared to other countries. http://www.mapleleafweb.com/community/edit...rton090402.html Stephen Harper is right as as far as Canada is concerned, Kyoto serves no real benefit to small or moderate polluting countries and still allows major polluters to continue polluting. The gradual approach Mr. Harper is taking to greenhouse emissions is more realistic in the long run.

Well, there's something you can agree on. Common ground is always a good starting point for a worthwhile discussion. Talking about comedians, how about quoting the entire paragraph which reads: "I am certain extreme Muslims (or any other Arab Muslim for that matter, as we cannot read minds) laugh at the Pope and consider him nothing more than a bad joke, just another Christian they would like to get their hands on and eliminate." I don't believe there is NO common ground on this one, at least not with a person who despises from what I gather, religion of any kind.

Ignatieff proposes to recognize Quebec as a nation
Leafless replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well I guess any discussion with you about quebec film would be like casting pearls before the swine, seeing that you don't watch it and only surf fench TV for soft porn...perhaps when there's a thread about cretinism and philistine culture, we can engage. For the others who might be interested, Quebec film consistantly turns a profit and wins great reviews and awards Without googling i can think of a number that made the investor rich and the critics applaud. Bad Cop Bon Cop Decline of the American Empire Barbarian Invasions Kamouraska Leolo Les Boys Une Zoo La Nuit L'ange et la Femme Jesus of Montreal The Confessional Mon Oncle Antoinne Red Violin It should be noted in 2004 the Toronto International Film Festival's all time top 10 canadian films included 6 from quebec. If their films are so successful, why then can't they finance their films themselves, rather then depend on government handouts like Telefilm. -
The speech is old news. BTW what the Pope said from a quote means little as the important part was that he did verbally say it. The Pope is the head of the Roman Catholic. I am a Catholic and detest what he said in reference to any sort of apology concerning his initial quote. Islam is a volatile religion as well as political in nature. In fact the Pope has no business concerning his beliefs directed to a group so volatile that the only remaining superpower has a hard time controlling their mad dog killer instincts, fuelled by their fanatical homicidal beliefs, regarding virgin rewards in another supernatural world. I am certain extreme Muslims (or any other Arab Muslim for that matter, as we cannot read minds) laugh at the Pope and consider him nothing more than a bad joke, just another Christian they would like to get their hands on and eliminate. http://www.grasstopsusa.com/050905.html

Ignatieff proposes to recognize Quebec as a nation
Leafless replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
I think Quebec qualifies as a nation. The only real issue is whether calling Quebec a nation helps or hurts the separatist cause. My gut feel is it does neither since it simply acknowledges the self-evident. OTH - we could turn this into another Meech Lake/Distinct Society debacle where our unwillingness to state the obvious becomes a reason for seperation. Your rational is flawed. The definition of a country is: 1a: The territory of a nation with it's own government. Technically all ten provinces in Canada could be considered or qualify as a nation with no other special status outside of it's legal provincial definition as a province. If Quebec wants to be it's country let them SEPARATE and I think the sooner the better for this bunch of arrogant troublemakers. -
To my American brothers and sisters
Leafless replied to gerryhatrick's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
No doubt the extended Iraq war is the cause of voter discontent, especially when many believe more political emphasis should be directed to the economy. While this Iraq conflict is definitely the cause of voter discontent it would be interesting to know exactly how the Democrats would handle the situation if in power. IMO I think Present Bush has an ethical and moral responsibility to insure relative calm is restored in Iraq, until the U.S pulls out. I fully agree President Bush is doing the right thing as there are also other delicate important matters to be considered against pulling out at this time. http://msnbc.msn.com/id/15390209/ -
Is it time to throw out multiculturalism
Leafless replied to Leafless's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Perfectly put. What has, exactly, been the contribution of Sharia-seeking immigrants anyway to Canada's freedom? Third rate boutiques and dollar stores in run down strip malls. -
Ignatieff proposes to recognize Quebec as a nation
Leafless replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
You don't see Canada in a very bright light, despite years of unnecessary political pandering to Quebec. Our Prime Minister has more sovereign power than the president of the U.S. Britain gave us our independence, not the U.S. -
Cops targeted in French housing projects
Leafless replied to Leafless's topic in The Rest of the World
It's interesting no one would make a connection to what is happening in France, as to possibly the makings of a world wide Muslim civil war, in a bold effort to take over and control the world. The ingredients are all there, terrorism, combined political and religious and political righteousness, anarchy. The clash of civilizations has begun with the first Muslim terror attack and has progressed from there. -
Ignatieff proposes to recognize Quebec as a nation
Leafless replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Well, I guess one could arrive at such a conclusion if one only looks at the superficial similarities and disregards the other implications. Which is like saying "Argus is simply a variation of Adolph Hitler." because both are members of the same species. But hey, even with language and laws, that's a pretty strong case for nationhood. Without many various forms of federal handouts including equality and transfer payments Quebec would not it's present form. SOME NATION! -
Oh yeah, another citizen of the world type.

Ignatieff proposes to recognize Quebec as a nation
Leafless replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Sure: why don't you come up with your own distinct language, customs, cultural traditions, etc. Please provide a short list of Quebec's distinct customs and cultural traditions. The only one I can think of is that poutine thing. -
Fanatics? Revile? Totally inappropriate words pertaining to mere objection. Your simply cheesed since Christians don't behead people who mock their religion.

Ignatieff proposes to recognize Quebec as a nation
Leafless replied to Leafless's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
The word 'nation' is not precise standing alone as the definition of nation is important pertaining to the definition of the word 'country'. Country: 1 a:" The territory of a nation with it's own government" as quoted from the 'Concise Oxford dictionary'. And since Quebec considers it's provincial government in the same light as Canada's federal government, Quebec will be seen by Quebecers no doubt, as their country as many apparently already do regardless without the official title of a nation. -
"Michael Ignatieff and his organization imprinted themselves on the provincial wing by persuading its members to back his notion to recognize Quebec as a nation." Here is a politician who has been out of Canada 20 yrs. or so and now is prepared tying the Liberal political strangulation knot around Canada's 'dysfunctional political system' even tighter. Why are the Liberals bent on destroying Canada and I truly wonder if Mr. Ignatieff can honestly refer to himself as a Canadian in more ways than one? http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...y/National/home
