Why don't you wait until his government is no more befor ripping it apart??? -
"some call them the Molson drinkers, but I resent that." Geoffrey... Somehow I feel that was directed at me. I know I have spoofed Molson Canadian on this board many times based on the Joe Canadian anti-american commercials but it should be known...it should be known that I have Molson Dry in my house right now. Although (apparently) only available in Quebec...this beer is the best and I am a proud drinker of it...all politics aside...

Go buy some champagne Newbie...you guys are still in Her Majesty's [despicably and anti-Canadian and un-] loyal opposition... Just kidding...but seriously, let the guy govern!!! -
You know Melanie, While I can't disagree...you must admit Belinda crossing when she did was VERY suspicious given a confidence vote was impending on the then-Liberal government,

What's With Democrats And Funerals?

Figured you'd like that... -
Betsy, "If it is supposed to be a quality system, why then does the most recent study of Quebec National Childcare show that "children are worse off" in this quality system?" I don't have kids but I think Quebec daycare sucks. We read all about 13 month old kids being left outside and unions complaining about this and that (if I were a CEO, I would be out of North America so fast...) that I think the Conservative plan is so much better.

Conservative Leadership Up for Grabs in Manitoba

How is that Tory leadership going...I havent't read about it in awhile Melanie??? -
Honest Politician, Welcome back!!! I have missed your mind-numbing post (and while I am on the mind subject) absent-minded posting. Yes Harper's move made me spit out my coffee in the morning and say a few four letter words but in comparison to 12 years of Liberal corruption, NDP socialism, and Bloc separatism, I would still say we have the best government possible in power. I suggest you wait a while before laughing your liver our...have a drink in the meantimes while you sit on the sidelines in opposition...

That's the neo-con...AKA big-government conservative movement...and that is the problem. DITTO! Yeah I back you there...

Guess again AW! You demorepublicraticans have been so programmed with that dialectic thought that it's incredible. You are nothing but two sides of the same coin. I have landed here after leaving another forum where because of my constant criticisms of Bush had me labled a "liberal"... now... my first day here and trying to get my feet wet... you call me a Republican! Tsk, tsk, tsk! There's a large Patriotic and Chrisitan right in the U.S. that has never had any desire for nor do they want anything to do with Bush. As a matter of fact... I can't understand why the left doesn't adore Devious Dubya! Spends more money than any two democrats, is clearly a social-democrat and a globalist. He's on the same side as the Democrats on the illegal alien issue and immigration... hell... he's even as articualte and mentally astute as Lurch Kerry... he's your perfect "Manchurian candidate." I agree that Bush had his own agenda... and that was not to LOSE more ground with blacks in this country. He had nothing to gain... regardless of what he did he was going to be criticized. They probably figured that it was less of a lost to go as opposed to not. Presuming you are a Democrat... because you've backed so heavily the actions of some that criticized Bush policy at the funeral... What do you think of Bill Clinton's comments? Did he not dig a bit on those of his own party? Maybe this video will help... http://whitehouse.org/media/hillary-talks.mov -
Good point.

I know...still hope this dies down soon...

Which Kerry...the one that voted for the war or the one that voted against it???
-
That's right Bubber. Look, I voted Conservative and I want to see PM Harper remain in power. But this whole thing has left me angry. I criticized Belinda and I'll criticize this. I am no hypocrite...but I wouldn't bring the gov't down over it...

Guess he can't take a walk in the snow now... -
I agree although I think the Bloc has the right to only run in Quebec if that is what they want. If the people vote, they should have as many choices as possible, this is democracy after all. BTW: I did not vote Bloc. Gotta love how they whine about everything Quebec. Please, how many other provinces have their own political party at the federal level? As an anglophone Montrealer I am no Bloc supporter. That being said, if they form a party and want to bitch about things they can and if people are dumb enough to vote form them thats OK too.
-
Melanie do you honestly think he entered the campaign planning to jump ship? Not very likely. I am sure he ran the campaign to sit as a Liberal. Then old opportunity and ambition came knocking. I don't believe we're talking about subterfuge here, though questionable ethics to be sure. Of course he was running as a Liberal but he bailed when the party lost. He was a right-wing Martin Liberal anyway...I think now he'll be more comfy in a CPC government.

Oh please. The Canadian people gave them a mandate? The national voter turnout numbers are extremely low (55% of the voting age population voted in 2004) and on top of that, Harper only won a minority government. This means that something like 30% or so of Canadians voted for Harper. You think this is a mandate given by the people? Our system is called "first past the post." In other words, your horse is waiting for you at the gate... -
I get a blank screen when I click the link... I'll give Harper the benefit of the doubt although I still find the move controversial and Emerson's "shock" at the electorate surprise a lot of bullshit.
