Kenney says you can't get EI if you turndown work.
Signals.Cpl replied to Boges's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
It can't possibly be that people are tired of having a high unemployment and a lot of unoccupied jobs all at the same time. Everybody is up in arms when a government official lies for large or small things but when the seasonal workers who have made it their career choice to milk the system lie again its the governments fault. There are also people who decide to skip the whole working part of the equation and go straight to welfare as a career choice, should we feel sorry for them if they are perfectly capable but unwilling? At some point people have to take responsibility for their own lives and make their career choices. If a person knowingly goes in to a field where they will be out of work for a significant time each year they should not expect the government to pay for their decision to not work. -

And here I thought he only choked the military nearly to death as a whole, except for the unlucky few who he actually killed. -

Iraq could be the wrong message to them though, they could see it as the US playing tough but also as the US unwilling to go to war again. What I don't get is what do the Iranians hope to accomplish? The US will not let them have nukes and even if the US let them have nukes Israel will never let them... Either way they will never be a nuclear power not for long anyway. -

Might be naive but I seriously hope Iran gets the message. -

Well no, but I hope it doesn't come to that. If it does it is comforting to know that the Americans have a plan and hopefully they picked up a thing or two from both Iraq and Afghanistan to make it quick. -

To be fair, I am pretty sure that the US military has plans on how to invade and/or fight a war with any country in the world. Just because there is a plan does not mean that it will be used. What does the F-35 have with a war with Iran? And what does Russia and China have to do with Iran? The only threat that N. Korea poses is to S. Korea. China will not risk hundreds of billions of dollars worth of trade with the US for Iran, Russia has no reason to involve itself at least not one that is worth a war with the US. -
What would be the outcome of preventing Israel from defending themselves? The outcome is that they get attacked and will have to use more extreme means of defence. It is exactly the same mentality of the peace/disarmament crowd. If only we would disarm ourselves the Arabs would have no reason to attack us or hate us. If we only forced Israel to do what? Stop defending themselves?Surrender? Die? You want peace? Get the Arabs to give up their insane desire for genocide, get the arabs to stop sending rockets, suicide bombers or any and all attacks on Israel then we can talk. Make an agreement that all holy sites will be shared with international monitoring to prevent any issues. Then pour resources in to Palestine and bring their standard of living up. It seems to me that you are ignoring all the terrible things that the Arabs are doing while exaggerating and taking out of context what the Israelis are doing. You cannot pressure anyone to do anything if they are surrounded by people who want them dead, what you can expect is that if you withdraw all assistance in defence then they will be more open to using extreme means tactics.

I want to get a straight answer. If you had the final say on all aid to Israel including sales of weapons as well would you suspend it and why? You are ill informed and are trying to throw accusations around because you don't want to answer a simple question. I should have asked you this question from the begging rather then fuel your anti-Semitism. You are racist, ignorant, stupid or a combination thereof. Why? Because you are trowing accusations about Israel pretending that the Arabs are the innocent victims of the region. The Arabs contribute enough to the whole bloodshed and there are still a number of organizations and Nations that still maintain their vow to destroy Israel. You either don't understand what assisting Israel is all about or you don't care that ending all assistance to Israel means that lots and lots of people die. Tell me, what would you want to accomplish through stopping all aid? It will not bring peace to the middle east, well at least not with out ending life in the region. Getting called out on your racism might not be the most comfortable place for you, but you started the topic and now its time to end it simply by telling everyone what your end game is what do you want to accomplish by stoping aid?

The message is that you can work all your life and the government takes, takes and takes some more. If you join a terrorist organization and kill an American the government will give give and give some more. I guess the British should give Hasib Hussain's family a medal, pension and a nice house after all he killed 13 people, thats gotta count for something right? I mean come on one American can't be better then 13 Brits right? And he was child only 18 so mommy and poppy musta brainwashed him... And the mean MI5 and MI6 did not prevent the death of this hero... Those Damned bastards how could they leave this victim family without the proper amount of money for his sacrifice due to the failure of the services to prevent his death... Well, the best thing is that Khadr will right a nice little Autobiography and make some money on the side. -

This discussion has made me rethink my entire life, I mean my youth was wasted. Instead of going to school, finding a job, and working towards being a productive member of society I should have gone to Afghanistan joined the Taliban, killed an American soldier endure a few years of being a prisoner and then sue Canada because Canada's Intelligence Service was doing its job. don't worry, if he gets any money many people will not fail to see the message that is being sent out loud and clear. All I have to say about this. What this is doing is to justify any and every criminal because of a bad childhood or whatever they can come up. Turns out an honest life does not bring the same reward as a life of crime. -

But the CSIS agents did not do anything wrong as in something they wouldn't have done in Canada? Is he able to sue the lawyers who were asking him questions again because they were there? Or any government employee who went to ask him questions about his treatment? -

Thats the thing though, if you don't get the target Pakistan can spin it anyway they want. From what I have seen about this they had a pretty good idea it was him inside but going in to Pakistan on the down low is not something they wanted to do without a good reason. -

Until the last few posts it was not presented that he was "interrogated" that's why he was suing it was presented with he was Canadian, Canada did nothing to get him back like the other western countries so he can sue. Whether or not Canadian agents were "interrogating him" is irrelevant as long as they did not commit any illegal actions on him./ If they asked him a bunch of questions but did not torture him I see no problem with that. Asking him questions wether it be in Canada, the States or Afghanistan is irrelevant, otherwise if we captured him in 2002 we would have had to wait to get him to Canada and then "interrogate" coddle him. -

You accuse and then try to back away from your words. You need a better understanding of the words you are using when you are making accusations. If you can't afford one I can mail you a dictionary. -

So you are saying that CSIS, did a bad thing because they interrogated him? Keep in mind interrogation has a wide definition. Did they torture him? Abuse him in any way? -

How did CSIS interrogate him? He was found in the company of a group that is for all intents and purposes our enemy. I think we should be pissed if they had not interrogated him, since if he is to come back to Canada I would want some intel on him and his involvement with the Taliban. -
