Cecession Referendums in Canada
John Johnston replied to Barquentine's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Hahahahaha. That's my thinking as well. -
U.S. President Donald Trump says he's considering cancelling concerts planned for the country's 250th anniversary after several artists dropped out. In a Truth Social post, he said he draws bigger crowds than Elvis Presley and could give a speech instead. If it was not so sad it would be funny as hell. Or he is just a garden variety nut case. Which is likely.

building Chinese cars here in Canada....
John Johnston replied to Army Guy's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Yup. China leads the US in the research of 37 out of 44 critical technologies, claims think tank China has a "stunning lead" over the US. And we better get off our asses here in Canada as well. -
https://factually.co/fact-checks/politics/are-ice-detention-centers-like-concentration-camps-comparison-analysis-2675a7 The label “concentration camps” applied to ICE detention centers is contested: some historians and commentators argue the term accurately captures mass detention of civilians without trial and punitive intent, while others — including institutions tied to Holocaust memory and ICE officials — say the analogy distorts key historical differences like systematic extermination and state intent. The dispute is as much about definition, moral resonance and political framing as it is about documented conditions inside U.S. facilities.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/kevin-oleary-data-centre-utah-9.7207716 Utah is currently facing significant water challenges, primarily due to its rapid population growth and arid climate. The state ranks among the driest in the U.S., with only about 5% of its total precipitation available for human use. 1 Despite this, Utah's population is expected to double in coming decades, leading to increased water demand. 1 The Great Salt Lake and Lake Powell have seen declining levels, indicating a worsening water crisis. 1 Efforts to improve water efficiency and conservation are ongoing, but challenges remain, especially in urban areas where water use is high. 2 The state is also dealing with disputes over water projects, such as the Pine Valley Water Supply Project, which highlights the complexities of managing water resources. 1 Overall, while Utah's water situation is serious, there are ongoing efforts to address these challenges and ensure sustainable water management. That's why. Stop the bullshit. -
