American imperialism refers to the U.S. expansion of power and influence beyond its borders through territorial acquisition, economic control, military intervention and cultural dominance. Originated by Pres. Munroe, the Monroe Doctrine stated that any intervention by external powers in the politics of the Americas is a potentially hostile act against the U.S. The Truman Doctrine was described as globalizing the Monroe Doctrine. The Cold War was characterized by a geo-political rivalry between the U.S. and the USSR (Warsaw Pact). It included open conflict and global, political, ideological and economic rivalry. Cut to the chase – the U.S. sought to combat the influence and spread of communism worldwide. U.S. actions to contain the opposing ideology globally, are a prime example of U.S. imperialism. (Truman Doctrine)

............. post, any so-called agreed negotiation, Iran still retains the hammer in its ability to lob missiles into the strait. Daresay Xi is looking forward to the upcoming fireside chat with 'Donald' and even more so if the situation isn't resolved(???). Rumor is Xi is having a special chair constructed for the so-called, leader of the free world - several inches shorter. Provides nuanced perspective. 😄 Cluster fk, nay, Clown Show.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine began in Feb 2022. Ukraine has weathered the storm for 4 years ........... heroically, the country is to be applauded. Likely Putin's motivation is security (near afar buffer) and his stated, geopolitical ambitions. Security centers around preventing Ukraine from joining NATO and by extension limit Western military influence near Russia's borders. Well known that Putin has demanded NATO halt expansion and withdraw troops and infrastructure from member states, post 1997. Today the majority of Ukrainians now favor ending the war through negotiations. The hope of joining NATO and the European Union have faded; approval of U.S. leadership has plummeted. The people see EU, UK as key to ending the war through negotiation - not capitulation. “We do not want Ukraine to capitulate. We insist on recognizing the reality that has developed on the ground“ / Putin Putin said that Russians and Ukrainians are one people “and in this sense, all of Ukraine is ours“. / Putin Some reality for Putin is that conservative estimates are that Russia has suffered over 1 million casualties since his, 'special military operation" began over 4 years ago.

Definitely important for those supporting secession to have a clear understanding of what they're supporting. Over several decades political movements have advocated the secession of Alberta, with some groups supporting the creation of a sovereign union with the other provinces of Western Canada ...... other groups supporting the province joining the U.S. as a state or territory. A so-called sovereign union refers to self-governance and independence, maintaining authority over their own affairs without external interference ........... a sovereign country. I do believe the U.S. would have a strategic economic interest in Alberta. Akin to Philippines, Panama, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, Hawaii, Florida, Alaska ................................. Greenland? ............. def don't want Kanucks to get paranoid, but if it's real it ain't paranoia. 😁

You seem to be insinuating that the Jews should just 'take it' because if they don't just continue to , 'take it', they're putting U.K. at risk? The Oct 7th attacks were a series of coordinated armed incursions from Gaza into southern Israel, carried out by Hamas and several other militant groups during the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah. In response Israel launched a large scale military operation into Gaza. Over 1200 Israeli citizens were murdered in the attack and countless taken hostage.

........... UN Convention? So-called, transit states would hold Alberta at a negotiated disadvantage. (kitchen sink negotiantion) The only thing that makes sense is a move towards becoming a territory of the U.S. Gotta wonder if that is not the 'play' .......... a stalking horse using Nationalism as the enticement. Make Alberta Great Again?

Joe Stalin was a Marxist - he recommended delivering a near death beating before final sanction. -
............... really don't see any geo-strategic value in Alberta............ in that respect I'd take Manitoba / B.C.? Panhandle makes B.C. particularly attractive. How can a region with limited population ......... no large cities; per se, zero ocean access and a one horse pony re: revenue, ever succeed as a country? what am i missing? Arguably worse would be Sask.
