................. standard protocol would have had Xi there to greet Trump - China sent the coffee boy! Def diss! China opened their social media to allow their citizens to publicly diss the guy - they had a feast. The entire slant- nation is laughing at the guy and the slant- state is promoting it. ................. Trump greeting (scraping) Putin - Alaska 2025

During Trump 1.0, outgoing Defense, Jim Mattis, a retired 4-star, sent a farewell message to the Pentagon. His departure came just days after he announced his resignation, reportedly over strategy. Trump's outgoing WH Chief of Staff, John Kelly defended his tumultuous tenure in an exit interview by highlighting all of the things he had convinced Trump not to do (aka talking truth to power) as well as other reports that other former top military brass want no part of this administration. Gentlemen, this is a 4 alarm fire! During the 2016 pres campaign, then-candidate Trump made it clear that he believed himself (bone spurs) to be more knowledgeable than the military leadership. "I know more about ISIS than the generals do, believe me", They don't know much because they're not winning" / Trump None of that exists today ......... ya think Pentagon Pete talks 'truth to power' when he's not revealing Strike Plans on an unsecured net? π

Americans vs Canadians -What's the difference?
John Stone replied to August1991's topic in Canada / United States Relations
Americans vs. Canadians. Well, Americans don't stuff $20 bills with the pic of the Nation's leader into the camel-toe retainer of strippers. π -
Mocking death of the President
John Stone replied to Goober National's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
"I hope someone kills him"? or did Kimmel describe Melania Trump as, 'glowing like an expectant widow"? Big difference? On the other hand ......... "Robert Mueller just died. Good, I'm glad he's dead," Trump wrote, adding, "He can no longer hurt innocent people!" Being an agnostic appeals to me BTW - less tribal in belief and support. π -
............ lets compromise, Trump doesn't have the skill to negotiate on the World stage (I'm being kind). If Trump had, Xi would never have suggested Taiwan in such a threatening manner. The problem with Trump is that he has no advisors he trusts - and the World doesn't trust Trump (U.S.) In a shooting war - PRC - he is the last person u want making strategy - I think that has been proven. PRC has scared him, he'll slow-roll arm shipments to Taiwan - billions! Of course Putin paying attention - 1500 drones hit Kiev since Wed. Trump might believe he's winning - PRC reads him - he's perfect. More the pity.

Mocking death of the President

What is dishonest of me ............... Accusing Trump of disrespecting the dead? π Disregarding a grieving family? π¨ Come now, ur hypothetical accusation of encouraging someone to kill ......... and Trumps factual performance are totally at odds - fact over fiction .... assumption? I'll completely overlook the fact that Trump represents the office of the President and as such represents the most powerful country on the planet? Kimmel? Not so much? Hate speech? Trump is the personification! -
Scary to imagine a hot-war with the PRC over Taiwan. Thankfully it will never come to that - the entire world is hoping (or would be) that TACO would live up to his billing. On the other hand............ what's is left of Global 'trust' in the U.S. would be in the shitr! There is only one thing China cares about - Taiwan - timeline is 2027 - Xi sees it as his legacy. To what extent has Trump's bluster, rhetoric and lack of direction contributed to China's forward stance re: Taiwan? China just needs to scare Trump with rhetoric - those slants are masters. - they read him correctly as a coward. Oh no, def don't want Trump in any conflict where he is required to punch, 'up'? Taiwan, ur fk'd.

giggle n chuckles? Let's say Kanada was annexed by the U.S. Internationally what would be the impact. .......... in a oblique sense it was this type of maneuver that was the squib that started WWI Holy fk, Batman, we're not talking Taiwan or Ukraine We're talking a geo-political move that could have strategic implications for the entire World - particularly the 'bad' world. The U.S. would definitely be isolated, vilified ............more than it is now? Naw, any imperialistic move by the United(???) States to take Kanada, Greenland, Cuba, Panama, Venezuela, Columbia, Iceland or Kanada's territories has to be economic.

The fertilizer 'thing' is somewhat akin to the domestic price of gas, 'thing'? Although the U.S. produces fertilizer and exports it ........... it relies on imports and domestic production together to meet the demand? No grain-based (crop based) large scale farm can be efficient without replenishing the soil of nutrients, annually. There is a gargantuan, global supply chain responsible for the super-efficient production of U.S. farms. (imports/exports) Global economy?

................. haha........ we're talking the same .... and yeah, I get ur point. What is killing Poilievre is the Liberal campaign's strategy of linking his rhetoric to Trump. ........... not to mention that Carney is known internationally ........... stature? FWIW? so-called, 'crossing the floor' should be deferred pending a byelection.

.......... meh - litigation totals targeting the Trump administration range from 186 by April 2025 to a surge later in that year with outlets citing several hundred cases. π¨ In a normal world litigation in these numbers against an administration would seem outrageous ......not 'normal' anymore, baby! Is there still a Congress, 'Government for the people, by the people' π
-
Arguably there is nothing more important in becoming incumbent to a political hack than incredible charisma and media appeal. It worked for Trump? What is surprising is that Carney (unlike Trump) can sustain it ..............70 percent popularity!!! re: Kanada, speaks volumes about the opposition resonating - despite the fact that PP is arguably a more skilled politician.
-
haha ............we're all fallible and usually slip too far over one edge or the other - all hate and judgement or all giggles and chuckles? That said, I'm sure you can see the political threat those Kanucks pose? It is always and always will be a comparison. Kanada is definitely a political threat - it is where the Left gets all their ideas. π

Mocking death of the President
John Stone replied to Goober National's topic in Moral & Ethical Issues
Trump himself openly disrespects the dead, from war heroes to presidents to private citizens whose families grieved in public. His comments re: Mueller are so far beneath what is expected from a President, that it belies belief. Those who use this type of hateful rhetoric against others should surely expect to fall victim to the same. As far as Kimmel goes, his comments were in poor taste .......... Trump exploited it ruthlessly and tastelessly - few (MAGA notwithstanding) believes his outrage was genuine. The extent to which Trump pursued retribution against Kimmel and ABS is not only unworthy of the office he holds but an attack on the 1st amendment. Trumps vitriol though wasn't so much an attack against Kimmel / ABS but more a warning to others - intimidation? As far as Kimmel is concerned? Let the public decide - I believe the polls were evenly split............ and let ABS decide as a business decision and not be influenced by intimidation tactics coming from the PRESIDENT as a political tactic. Imagine if FDR had taken to the airwaves during the (WWII) Battle of the Bulge to complain about LIttle Orphan Annie comic strip he didn't like? Trump has (arguably) three wars going on right now: Iran, Ukrainians .............and comics! π
