What does 'TDS' have to do with this? Just validates my point of the other day.....it's all you or your same ilk got when you got nothing...'TDS'..... you got 'TDS' 😂 No, I absolutely don't think women should be competing against men in sports or any in any other type of physical endeavour. What does that have to do with saying 'Women need to be home, building strong families'? Still can't answer can you... Got it, won't ask any more if you're embarrassed. Another lame 'go to' for you...you're now asking me if I'm a chauvinist or misognyst? 😂 Expected and typical from a fool who can't explain his comment.

No, the 'train' started with the comment 'Women need to be home, building strong families, not trying to square off with men' and me asking you whether you're a chauvinist or a misognyst, which you still can't answer... why not? My pronoun is Mr. My mothers was Mrs, the same pronoun as my wife and daughter who I have no reservation at all in saying that all 3 had/have been very successful in their careers and also raised good families, despite not staying home to cook and clean.

Can't leave agriculture out of this. Ian Patton Delta BC conservative MP is a champion for TFW's that is critical to Delta's agriculture industry, as with the sector. We have trade shortages and programs are available to new immigrants as they are to naturalized citizens. So forget about performance, seniority and basic labour laws to say when things get slower immigrants lose their jobs first? I agree with that as it relates to OAS and believe that will change to higher age at some point. Remember that some of those lower/no income immigrants are generally supported by a family member who is paying taxes and benefits. No different than Deluges idea of women staying at home cooking and cleaning while the man works.

Debatable these days, but I think most would say providing basic nutrition , infectious disease prevention, health care infrastructure, etc, etc to impoverished countries isn't useless foreign aid. Wealthier Canadian's already pay higher taxes. I don't see the logic of the wealthier paying more income tax so lower incomes can return earlier and receive those full benefits. The fact MP's get a reduced pension at 55 versus 60 for the masses isn't the case for lowering the retirement age. Probably more of a 'why do they get this benefit' conversation.
-
Why, and who is going to pay for those programs after 'retiring' at that early of an age?
-
Yes we do. Specifically in trades, healthcare, agriculture, and transportation....not student jobs at Tim Hortons. Our economy is slow. Student/younger people are the first to be affected with a slow down of hiring. If you mean CPP for no income/low newcomers to Canada they have no impact. You only get from CPP what you paid into it. If you never worked you get nothing. If you've contributed little you get little.

The national embarrassment is blowing up in all his narcissistic glory this morning.... Watching him address military leaders who I guarantee will be questioning their careers after listening to this idi0t talk non-stop and nonsensically about himself. Naturally military leaders are there to listen to him talk about how great he is, the Gulf of 'Mexico', sleepy Joe Biden, autopens, his beautiful signature, tariffs, etc, etc, etc.... To even think this clown is the commander in chief of the worlds most powerful military is beyond scary.

Your infatuation with a cognitively declining and make-up wearing 79 year old narcissist borders somewhere between comical and embarrassing. For the sake of argument we'll call it a comical embarrassment.

US Economy UNSTOPABLE.
LinkSoul60 replied to paxamericana's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Everyone will still trade with the US, just less as they diversify to more reliable partners. Foreign visitors and investment have dropped significantly and will stay that way as long as Trump's in office. That impacts the US economy and those working in the hospitality sector. He's a detriment... -
There is an 'ignore user' feature here in the drop down menu under your screen name. For the same reasons you mention, I've found it to be a very effective and welcomed feature.

It's very true. You're doing it now.... Your Trump Deification Syndrome is acute.

Other way around.... It's the data centre investment that is driving more of a demand for power. The US economy is stoppable though... your boy Trump will see to that with his tariff policy and the slow but sure realignment of trade and spends from what were once solid allies. -
I find it real hard to believe that attorneys on both sides, a court of law, or the Supreme Court didn't catch onto to that. Don't you?

Using 'TDS' is nothing more than saying 'I got nothing'. What's your version of the facts?

I can definitely see the eligible age increasing. Not sure about CPP but OAS for sure. Remember Harper announced in 2012 that the retirement age was changing to 67 in 2023 but that was reversed back to 65 by Trudeau in 2016. Denmark recently passed legislation to push the current retirement age of 67 to 68 in 2030, 69 in 2035, and 70 in 2040. I can see OAS being a larger discussion though simply because everyone is eligible and as you mention we're living longer. CPP is your money that's been invested so no concern for that Plans solvency or sustainability. OAS is funded through government tax revenue so see that being more of a discussion when aligning the eligible age of being paid that to how much longer we're living.
