  1. No, I'm just following the facts. You can either try that, or cross your fingers and hope that everyone is wrong about the impact of your low birthrates.
  2. Actually, your guy Harper spent the least of any PM as a percentage of GDP the on military. Stephen Harper's government limited military spending to roughly 1% of GDP, the lowest in Canadian history, primarily to balance the federal budget, cut nearly $5 billion since 2012, and manage a dysfunctional procurement system that could not spend allocated funds, leading to nearly $10 billion in underspending. Despite "tough" rhetoric and the initial Afghanistan-era boost, spending was cut to focus on reducing national debt. CBC +5 Key factors for reduced spending included: Fiscal Restraint and Deficit Reduction: Following the costly Afghanistan mission, the Conservatives implemented the Strategic Review and Deficit Reduction Action Plan (DRAP), cutting 400 positions and reducing overall defense funding. Procurement Failures: Major procurement projects, such as ships and aircraft, faced massive delays, causing the Department of National Defence to return funds to the Treasury rather than spending them. Failed Procurement Projects: Projects for Navy destroyers and replacements for aging equipment (like the CF-18s) stalled or failed, leaving the military with aging, "clapped out" gear. Shift in Focus: The government shifted from a focus on combat in Afghanistan to administrative and logistical constraints, which reduced the immediate demand for high-cost operational funding.
  3. You're right, I won't argue this... A grade 7 dropout walking me through calculations gives me little incentive to argue with an id1ot. The fact is that housing was also unaffordable in Metro Vancouver when your hero was PM in 2015. Go find another subject to show your lack of understanding 🤡 Greater Vancouver home prices surged in 2015, with the MLS® Home Price Index composite benchmark reaching $760,900 by year-end, an 18.9% increase over 2014. Driven by record sales and low inventory, detached home prices jumped 24.3% to $1,248,000, while apartment prices rose 14% to $436,200. Detached properties in some areas exceeded $1.9 million by the third quarter. Greater Vancouver REALTORS® +2 Overall Market: According to December 2015 data from the Greater Vancouver REALTORS®, the market saw immense pressure from high demand. Detached Homes: The Financial Post reported that detached home prices in Metro Vancouver reached a benchmark of $1,248,000 in December 2015, a 24.3 per cent increase over the previous year. Apartments/Condos: The benchmark price for an apartment was $436,200 in December 2015. Area Differences: In the third quarter of 2015, according to Newswire Canada, aggregate home prices in central Vancouver jumped 15.6% to $1,097,726, while West Vancouver saw a more modest increase of 3.2% to $2,391,407. Sales Activity: Business in Vancouver reported that home sales over $1 million increased 46 per cent in 2015, demonstrating a hot luxury market. Context: Market activity was fueled by high demand, while supply constraints contributed to the significant price growth. 4. The data is in front of you, and in your AI search. Try again kiddo...
  5. You cry about a lot of things but one you continually chirp about is Trump and everyone 'pooping their pants'....but never answer the question.... Why shouldn't anyone blame Trump when he is solely responsible for the tariffs that have shît kicked our auto, steel & aluminum, and forestry sectors with lost revenue and jobs? And no if you paid attention you know I didn't support Trudeau who is a reason of why we're here today, but he's also not the only reason. And I didn't blame Harper at all... I stated a fact about real estate. Poilievre, be serious... there is nothing to blame. And yeah, the world is to blame here because it changed in 2020 that has effects to this day.
  6. Going too fast earlier and unable to keep up with your nonsense... Gregor Robertson was the Mayor of Vancouver and not responsible for foreign investment, real estates prices, or other metro cities policies. Next...
  7. As usual, you're wrong...but the good thing is you'll convince yourself otherwise. Tell me this was, or is affordable 11 years later; The MLS® Home Price Index composite benchmark price for all residential properties in Metro Vancouver ends the year at $760,900. This represents an 18.9 per cent increase compared to December 2014. The benchmark price for detached properties increased 24.3 per cent from December 2014 to $1,248,600. The benchmark price of an apartment property increased 14 per cent from December 2014 to $436,200. The benchmark price of an attached unit increased 13.6 per cent from December 2014 to $543,700. https://www.gvrealtors.ca/market-watch/monthly-market-report/december-2015.html
  8. Going golfing Karen... have a great day 😂
  9. Lol... Poilievre... give me break. He's done f'all except for say 'look at what the liberals did', and will continue to do f'all except sing the same song before he exits politics shortly. What attracted me to the liberal alternative this time around was a vastly superior economic, trade and financial background. A Trump wannabe with a paperboy background doesn't bring much to the table...
  10. No, provincial governments don't hold the authority on foreign investment, the Federal government does and that was your long gone idol.
  11. What don't you understand about the Greater Vancouver Real Estate stat's and graph? You're an incredibly bias and stupid little man who isn't worth a debate half the time. Carry on 🤡
  12. I'm not going to debate this with you. Facts are facts...and the Vancouver real estate market was unaffordable at the end of Harpers term that saw housing prices across Canada increase by 86%. You're a stunned as the Maga crowd so I'm sure you thought that inflation was good.
  13. I probably could have phrased better but you get it... Continued low birth rates, an aging population, and a smaller work force means less productivity, lesser tax revenues that slows consumer demand, and more pressure on social programs like AOS/Social security which puts a strain on the economy. I think Deluge and Groot have it figured out though... Just accept immigration from the 'whiter' Scandinavian countries and all will be good. Lol... you're just anti-colour. Don't work that way with immigration though.
  14. Is your solution that North American governments mandate that women have more babies? That's the only way it's going to happen, and it's not even close to realistic. I am not interested in filling up the country with immigrants, but am saying the facts are what they are and we're going to be seeing more immigration in the years ahead. It is what it is...
  15. No I'm not... I'm just stating the facts whether you agree with them or not. A country can't sustain an economy if it doesn't have the population to do so....fact.
  16. Other than what you can afford, I'm not sure what the definition of affordable is but the average price of home's in Edmonton and Winnipeg are in the ~$400K range with Calgary ~$550K. In any books that's a lot of money but compared to the Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal.... inexpensive.
  17. Both countries have decreased immigration which was needed, but will come back as the boomers exit the workforce and planet. Combine that with women in North America not having enough babies to maintain the population and we're both going to be those immigration declines reverse fairly soon...
  18. Sorry to disappoint but we had a housing price challenge in the greater Vancouver are back in the 2010's. Low interest rates and Asian foreign investment were drivers for this. Don't worry little fella, I'm not taking any shots at your hero but just stating the facts....Vancouver home prices became unaffordable for many during that time, and remains that way for many today. Overall, Canada housing prices increased 86% during his term so any way you want to look at it, the cost of housing increased substantially during his term. And no, it is not your birthright to live where you want regardless of the area's affordability. If you believe that it is the case then rather than buying a single family home, buy a 2 bedroom condo if that makes it more affordable....which is where construction trends have been going for 15 years. The pandemic had a massive impact on supply chains and continues to have lingering effects with labour shortages, materials shortages, and logistics reliability. Unstoppable? Too late to intervene in Vancouver’s housing price escalation? New report: “Booms, Busts, and Normal Times in the Housing Market” Posted on May 21, 2015 by urbanizta Have our politicians, policy-makers, and other leaders failed society by acting too late to deal with global financial flows into the Metro Vancouver property market? Was the best time for action already several years back? If so, now what?
  19. Absolutely, let the market decide what they want to buy. An affordable Chinese built EV is going to appeal to a lot of people and create a price point that NA manufacturers will need to be at for competitiveness. Competition is a good thing, and so is the strategy to bring these in if Trump is hell bent on breaking our industry.
  20. You conveniently disregarded what I said earlier... which is not surprising with your uneducated and twisted mind. That all you got Karen?
  21. My kids and their families are young, and homeowners who don't complain even remotely close to what you do. Guess they learned along the way to keep their head down, work hard and don't complain....because nobody cares. It's too bad you weren't taught that same life lesson.
  22. Obviously Trudeau left a lasting impression with the US going through the same affordability challenges. The guy got around...
  23. Lol... meet you in the hallway to the dressing rooms 👊 Speaking of NAFTA/CUSMA.... I hear Greer a lot, what has happened to Nutlicks. Is he another one on the outs with Trump...?
  24. Vancouver and Toronto were 'unaffordable' when your guy was in power. Home prices also rose 86% during his term. No, it wasn't a birthright for me. I came from Ontario to BC and at the time there was a huge difference in housing prices that stretched our dollars to the max. No different than people today who are working hard to pay the bills. If you can't afford to live in the big city or buy a home like you grew up in, then don't, and buy what and where you can afford. That's life...
