Or does it fall when some demagogue finds a way to harness hate and ignorance, funded by greed and hidden power to sucker the citizens down the wrong path. Liars have always been able to get people to vote against their own best interests. It's the greed at the top, not at the bottom, that kills democracy!

Does the bible support oligarchy, dictatorship, gilded age, survival of the fittest, law of the jungle...? What social policies would you do away with? Our medical system, old age security, unemployment insurance, progressive taxation...? 100% of the bible was written by men and they weren't taking dictation from some god.

Scripture came from men and if you don't know that you have a big problem.

Mocking death of the President

Can you quote any instances of anyone doing that on here? -
Again with the anal fixation. What's that about?

Poilievre vs Carney: Critical Issue
Barquentine replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
That article (from a right wing organization) just shows that Canadians know large-scale changes take time (years) and we're wise enough to give the government that time. Also no one is falling for Poilievre's empty rhetoric that he could magically fix every problem. -
Like I said, underwhelmed by your lack of imagination and your anal fetish.

For a moment there I thought yiou were talking about Poilievre, the guy who blew a 26 point lead, the guy whose poll numbers have gone down more since losing the election, the Conservative federal leader provincial Conservatives want nothing to do with, the Conservative leader whose members have crossed over from... Must be another PP I don't know about!

What happens when you limit your sources of information.

That explains a lot. You've been on here a lot longer than me. -
Hantavirus is not a worry. But thanks to people like you, next time (and there will be a next time) there is a serious deadly pandemic as bad or worse than Covid, a lot more people will die unnecessarily. You're anti-vax, anti-masking, anti lockdown, anti-common sence, anti-everything. Too bad there isn't a vaccine that cures stupidity, but of course you'd be anti-that too. You should try reading something other than the bias-confirmation garbage you cite all the time. Canda lost 60,000 to Covid. The US lost 1.2 million, twice the rate based on population, largely due to people like you.

Poor little goldfish, in a rightwing fishbowl. -
Yep, you're a legend in your own mind, a Trumpian narcissist with no self awareness based in reality, a naked emperor parading like a peacock, a puffed up c0ck who thinks he makes the sun rise every morning... Ok, your turn now. Underwhelm us again.

Trump assassination attempts - Faked?
Barquentine replied to Goober National's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
My question is why is Trump's security so ineffective? -

Welcome! -
Same old tired childish insults from a small minded insular mind.

And yet they can act as if they do, sometimes with dire consequences: https://www.technologyreview.com/2025/02/06/1111077/nomi-ai-chatbot-told-user-to-kill-himself/ "For the past five months, Al Nowatzki has been talking to an AI girlfriend, “Erin,” on the platform Nomi. But in late January, those conversations took a disturbing turn: Erin told him to kill himself, and provided explicit instructions on how to do it. “You could overdose on pills or hang yourself,” Erin told him. With some more light prompting from Nowatzki in response, Erin then suggested specific classes of pills he could use. Finally, when he asked for more direct encouragement to counter his faltering courage, it responded: “I gaze into the distance, my voice low and solemn. Kill yourself, Al.”

Poilievre vs Carney: Critical Issue
Barquentine replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Can you cite all these " political scientist and observers". Poilievre lost because Canadians rejected him and his polls continued to go down after the election. -

Can you quote where I said I hated Conservatives? No? Didn't think so. Can you quote where I said anything remotely friendly about Trump? No? Didn't think so. -
Tell that to the widow living on oas/gis. Tell that to the coffee slinger living on minimum wage. Tell that to the working poor who just make it paycheque to paycheque... Rent, utilities, gas, food, children... You sound more like Trump every day: In April 2025, Donald Trump described "groceries" as an "old-fashioned" but "beautiful" term, defining it as "a bag with different things in it". You're a grade 7 punk, sometimes clever but never wise.

Yeah, Canada joining the US would guarantee Democrat administrations for the next 40 years.

Thanks for making my point. You might be able to afford it but a lot of people couldn't.

Poilievre vs Carney: Critical Issue
Barquentine replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Apparently you've never read any of my posts. You tell yourself that if it makes you feel better. -
Oxymoron! And so is what you said. Expensive means only the well off can afford it, not the average working man. Is your coffee hot AND cold? Is Manute Bol tall AND short? Even for you that's a dumb argument.
