  1. We need to put out faith into the American system that it will be able to squash this wanna-be dictator
  2. We can turn this thread into "Trump's most ridiculous lies" The first one that springs to mind is, "In Springfield, they're eating the cats and the dogs." Another doozy: Trump disparaged Walz as “Tampon Tim,” then said, “You know why they call him that? ’Cause they sell tampons, with special legislation, in boys’ locker rooms.” https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/10/politics/fact-check-trump-pennsylvania-speeches/index.html
  3. No, this causes me no amusement at all. It breaks my heart to see people suffer. And suffering will increase under Trump. I do not hate. My conclusions are rational. Trump is not good for the fate of Americans or the world.
  4. Your identity is who you are. It is made up of your self-awareness, your consciousness, your perspectives, your motivations, your interpretations, your sense of self, your particular way of framing the world, your intuitions, the manner in which you process information, and all of that is generated in your brain.
  5. I was not involved in any discussion about this and was not responding to this. My only claim is that transgenderism is due to brain development.
  6. You are clearly out of the loop and have never heard of endocrine disruptor chemicals - which range from additives in our food to pollutants - which may interfere with sexual development: Our stolen figures: The interface of sexual differentiation, endocrine disruptors, maternal programming, and energy balance I never claimed that. Is your reading comprehension that backward?
  7. This is such a non-sequitur, that it hardly merits a response. It's actually not a genetic anomaly, but the way the brain develops under the influence of not just genes, but hormones. Answer me one question: Where is your identity generated?
  8. It's so funny how you think Trump is "your guy." Tell us, do you dream about him at night?
  9. Some may think that the US is the whole entire world, but Putin's sights were on the EU. In 2012 he said: “Russia is an inseparable, organic part of Greater Europe, of the wider European civilisation. Our citizens feel themselves to be Europeans.” But that was not to pass. Europe rebuffed him. To understand Putin's point of view, you may wish to read his address at the 2022 Valdai International Discussion Club meeting
  10. I heard things.
  11. @CdnFox - Lol! You'd fit right in with Trump and Musk! Outrage and distract!!
  12. Your ignorance of Putin could fill a book.
  13. And this is based on "your long-term friendship with (me) and intimate knowledge" of me? I am not concerned with what you believe. I am pretty satisfied with my interpretation of events. I missed that.
  14. And this is based on “your long-term friendship with (me) and intimate knowledge” of me? (Your words) You flip-flopping doesn’t even surprise anymore. Watch and learn.
  15. I know Trump has convinced you he influenced Putin, but it is just not true. Putin waiting until 2022 had nothing to do with Trump. It had to do with Putin’s strategy of trying to become more a part of Europe and in that way splitting the West between Europe and the US. But Putin’s hope was disappointed, and he snapped in 2022, convinced that no Western governments could be trusted.
  16. I never used the word "evil." I just described things as they are. So you are conceding that to be ruled by the drive for wealth and power is evil? Not required to come to the conclusions I made. The weakness in your argument speaks more to support my point than yours.
  17. Lol! I know what you meant. But, for your information, I am not on the far-left. A careful reading of my posts will reveal my point-of-view. Unfortunately, your prejudice stands in the way of your understanding and a meaningful dialogue.
  18. These are valid points. I was thinking of Trump's influence on Putin. Yes, let's hope Trump does not abandon the US role of the world leader of democracy and sovereignty.
  19. One of my favourites is the Queso dip with pita chips
  20. I actually get most of my groceries from Costco.
  21. There are different things influencing the war. Trump ain't one of them.
  22. I assume you are trying to be funny, or else that’s a really poor understanding of my point. I’ll add to it. Musk is like Trump in the way that they both outrage to distract from their real agenda (which is to concentrate power and money in the hands of the very wealthy). They both use that manipulation technique – outrage and distract. Look at this thread for confirmation that it works. “It was a Nazi salute.” – “It was not a Nazi salute.” And repeat. Having said that, Musk’s salute may have something to do with his feud with Bannon. Musk may be trying to court away the anti-Semite support Bannon enjoys, and what better dog-whistle than a Nazi salute. Trump supporters remind me of Donald Rumsfeld’s famous axiom about “unknown unknowns” – “There are known knowns — there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns — that is to say, we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns, the ones we don’t know we don’t know.”
  23. Trump is performing for his base. It is what he does best.
  24. What's happening now really does lend understanding to what happened then
