If anything we need more of these outlets like Rebel. We need a James O'Keefe here.
-
And this is because people with phones catch them lying or omitting facts so often.
-
Keean doesn't work for Rebel now. Incidentally he was the one the nutty guy from the Hill Times was originally yapping at. Keean was planning to ask about MP Ryan Turnbull's anti-gay comments. That's what kicked the whole thing off. Have you ever watched Keean?
-
They did not add extra people. A man there accused them of that. But Ezra pointed out to him that was not true. It's all on the video. Those were people from other independent outlets. Keann Bexte for instance is not from Rebel. Not sure where he works now. Great guy though. Love Keann. The guy who asked about the genders was from Juno I believe.
-
It's not that it is the news I want to hear. It's that they only cover stories and issues that the left deems important. Tax payers have a right to complain about that. Sounds like the CBC. Irrelevant to the matter at hand.
-
If they tried again to prevent Rebel from being there after being ordered by the courts twice that they had to allow them, the courts might look even more unfavorably upon them. That is probably why they caved and gave Rebel more questions when they threatened to sue.
-
If they won't cover issues important to conservatives, then they shouldn't have to be funded by them. End of. But the issue here is not that the CBC does not ask those questions. It's that someone else did. It's not the questions weren't asked. They were. By Rebel. They were allowed to be there. And CBC and other mainstream lost their minds. They even resorted to pretending that they were somehow threatened by their presence. Too bad.
-
From what I have seen, the fight at the debate broke out because the Hills Times reporter was mad that Keann Bexte, who doesn't even work for Rebel (though he did years ago) was going to ask a question about Liberal MP Ryan Turnbull who made anti-gay comments. All they had to do was boot the whiny stick man out, and everything would have been fine.
-
Sure it is. The CBC, if you can call it news, wants our tax dollars. There are certain questions people want asked. The news is not just whatever liberals think is newsworthy. We all have to pay for CBC. They would never ask that question about the churches being burned. If a single mosque is burned that would be a news story. Everyone would be expected to condemn it. CBC has an obvious bias. Maybe you don't see it. That's fine. If you enjoy it, fund it yourself. If CBC is so great, it ought to be able to stand on it's own two feet. I don't care that Rebel doesn't get federal funding. I just don't want to fund the CBC. The only people boohooing here are the leftists who lost their minds over the fact that Rebel was allowed to be there, and then claimed to be endangered by their presence.
-
Are they serious when they start pretending to be victims whose lives are in danger by the very presence of Ezra? I would say that's at least (though I think it is more) sleazy as having the ad van there. 4 questions and it would have been over. Ezra didn't make a scene.
-
That's you guys, Mike. It's you guys losing your minds over a few questions and a van. It was MSM reporters who started acting like juveniles and closed down the debate questions for everyone. It was MSM reporters who were so dishonest they tried to claim Ezra and co. were putting them in danger. Have a kleenex. Put someone on ignore. You'll feel better.
-
We have tons of video footage of MSM reporters acting like infants and then falsely claiming to be endangered. I'd say it's a wash, and that's being generous on our part.
-
But they won two court cases during the last previous elections which allowed them to be there. You may not like the decision. Those mainstream reporters may not like that decision. But they were granted the right to be there and ask four questions. There was no need of that Hills Times journalist flipping out at them. They did not cause the ruckus. They simply showed up at a debate they were told they were allowed to attend. Furthermore, it's pretty sleazy to claim that somehow they were endangering people there and that Rosie Barton 'needed' to be escorted by security.
-
Yeah, it's a double-edged sword. Some reporters are worse than others. One thing I have to give Rebel over some of the less sensationalist indie media is the fact that they are able to get people on the ground to cover some of these stories. It's more than a podcast. They are always out on the street. They cover international stories. Their reporters have been attacked. I remember one of them having urine thrown at her. Alexa Lavoie was pepper sprayed with convoy protestors. They had people going out and filming at Roxham Road years before I ever heard mention of it on mainstream TV or in parliament. I am really grateful for how they have stood by people facing draconian charges. Overall I really appreciate what Ezra has done. So much. I think Canada is lucky to have Ezra and those rebel reporters. Nobody else is in Canada is willing to do what they do.
-
I don't see how it's that relevant. Like most leftists, you seem to enjoy focusing on one point and hammering away at it. You haven't conceded that CBC asks loaded questions. I don't think a van is so terrible. You haven't presented any argument as to why four questions merits so much outrage. Everyone here points out that Rebel asked questions people care about that no one else will ask. Everyone points out that everyone is forced to pay for media which doesn't ask those questions. We all are forced to pay for media that does not represent all of us. Everyone points out that CBC asks loaded questions. But what about the van? The van? The horror!!! Never mind the fact that the CBC tried to represent what happened at the second debate a security threat and that Rosie was in danger. The van!!!! Maybe you can find a therapist to help you work through the trauma, Mike.
-
Scott Reid becoming unhinged over the presence of Rebel at the debates. Wasn't he the 'beer and popcorn' guy? Does anyone really believe Rosie Barton was in danger from Ezra and David and Drea? 🤣 Man, doesn't he sound so tough. You know someone is a big man when they insert 3 swear words into each sentence.
-
As WestCanMan has pointed out regular media asks loaded questions. As Ezra rightly points out the CBC has connections to similar campaigns. Four questions, Mike. Four questions. And you guys can't even handle it. When you show similar outrage about how CBC smeared regular Canadians during the convoy, I will take you seriously.
-
Rebel makes no pretense about being unbiased. It's no secret sometimes they are sensational. While I don't agree with the arrests on Menzies, he does go a little overboard in some situations. That said, since Rebel has existed, I have seen many instances where they have reported on something that the regular media ignores, until months or even years later when they are forced to do so. No one who watches only mainstream media knew about Roxham road until years after Rebel was reporting about it.
-
Because to them, that was not a loaded question. It's further proof to them that Pierre is somehow Trumpian. By calmly eating an apple and not agreeing with the premise of the question and explaining why, he is being aggressive to the media. Don't you see that? Trump is orange man and Poilievre is apple man. They are counterparts.

Holy Writ! CPC 43.2, Libs 39.1 in latest poll!

Yeah, it's not like this division began in November. -

I remember the same day CBC reported that the convoy was responsible for arson, Rebel News made a simple call to the RCMP and verified that it was false and they did not suspect the convoy was involved. You would think so called qualified journalists on the govt dime could have done that themselves. It's great we have media out there like Rebel. Not to mention all the help they have given by providing lawyers to people who were unfairly charged or fined during the covid insanity.
