  1. There is nothing wrong with what I did. If I had pretended it was your words that would be wrong, but I did not. The post itself said they were a mixture of your words and mine, after I corrected your words. You are unable to understand this, and frame it as attributing words to you that you have not said. This is a failure on your part, and the blame lies entirely with you.
  2. You forbid me from framing the correction as your words when they were not. So I am unable to correct your words, because I cannot change your words. I can say words of my own, but my words aren't the problem, your words are. You have forbidden me from fixing your words. Correcting another's mistakes is neither dishonest or despicable. This is a fairly complex topic however, so I'm skeptical you can understand it. You need to be rather decent at reading comprehension.
  3. Is that so? What did what I said have to do with persecuting christians?
  4. Ok, than. Your claim was incorrect because of missing context, but since you have forbidden me from quoting you I can't show you what context was missing. Happy now. No one has communicated anything. But seriously, communication is neither, dishonest, disgusting, or wrong. If you can't parse the language that's a you problem.
  5. I had to edit your claim as a tiny bit of additional framing was necessary to make the statement true. My additions are the bolded words, but yes, if you want to phrase it in as unflattering a manner as possible, strip away all the justifications themselves, and just state the position my edit of your statement is something the state has proven justifiable.
  6. Some people seem to be getting the word salvation confused with "entrance to heaven." All Salvation is, is knowledge of Christ. You cannot know christ from works, it can only be done by faith. So someone who has no knowledge of god cannot follow god's will. Any works done will lack faith, so no matter how saintly seeming their life is, they won't get into heaven. It fundamentally changes your nature from one who does not know god's will to one who knows god's will. But salvation is not a ticket to heaven. Those who have received salvation can still be condemned. It's not until death that humans are judged. Salvation merely gives you the ability to follow god's will, for you have knowledge of it. You still need to actually follow god's will to get into heaven. This is what I was responding to when I quoted you however. I wasn't talking about salvation in my post. I was talking about faith. Gaiten claimed that one who has salvation but does not believe in the need to do works does not have faith. Your words to Gaiten suggest that the bible verses explaining that doing good deeds does not grant one salvation invalidate the need to do works. This is a deeply troubling statement for you to make regardless of whether it was unintentional or a belief you hold. The bible clearly states that god wills for us to do works. If you reject that you do not accept the teachings of Christ. One who has the means to do works but refuses to do so is willfully sinning. One who has the means to do works, but does not feel works are required is rejecting god and has no faith.
  7. How can anyone believe to act in Faith of Jesus Christ when he refuses to do works in faith of Jesus Christ. The importance of faith is the motive. The importance of faith does not make the works unnecessary. You don't do good for the sake of checking a "Must do good deeds to get into heaven." objective off a bucket list. You don't do good deeds to boast about them. You must do good deeds solely because your Faith compels you to do good deeds. But if you have the means to do so, you must do good deeds because that is the only way to faithfully follow the teaching of Jesus Christ Arguing anything else is to claim that you don't need faith to have faith. You must believe the words of Jesus to believe in Jesus.
  8. https://san.com/cc/trump-admin-halts-then-restores-crucial-weapons-shipments-to-ukraine/ He's pushing for the US to do less for Ukraine. His "pushing" European countries to do more amounts to "If you want to help Ukraine that's your problem not mine." He's flat out said the US will not provide any peacekeepers to Ukraine and that he expects Europe to handle all the responsibility of enforcing whatever deal he's trying to cut with Putin.
  9. Hmm... The German healthcare system costs them 5699 Euros($8,434.52) from taxes and Canadian healthcare costs $8,740 from taxes, per person. The Average starting salary for a general practitioner in Canada is $187,500 per year. The average salary for a doctor in Germany is about €6000 per month,($106,560 per year) for a starting salary. We have a way lower population density than Germany does. This makes healthcare more expensive for us. Since our tax burden is already so close to Germany's, I'm not sure there's any benefit for us to adopt Germany's system. We're already paying our Doctors way more, so it's not that our hospitals aren't as competitive as Germany's. I don't think the problem is our single payer healthcare. It's more systemic in how we train and hire Doctors.
  10. I mean, it's not a sign of a healthy political community that it's necessary, but I can't deny satisfaction in seeing misinformation handled properly.
  11. It's an issue because of Brain rot overflowing from the US. Many conservative Canadians are heavily influenced by American culture and stop acting like Canadians and embrace the same crazy shit the republicans call for. Hopefully Trump's Vileness turns more Canadians away from this idiocy.
  12. Are these middle eastern countries voluntarily accepting these refugees? If not, hell to to no to that.
  13. I'm just going to say if someone claimed they were underage, and he assumed they were lying about it without making any efforts to confirm that, not even a comment like "Oh, age roleplay?", he deserved to be convicted of sex crimes. I mean, that's disturbing even if he did confirm it was just roleplay. Not doing so means he enjoyed "pretending that they were underage." at the very least. At best, he's a pedophile who "tries to find legal ways to vent his urges." but doesn't do the due diligence to ensure he's not actually interacting with minors.
  14. He mentions various actions that Christians consider sinful that are legal for Canadians to perform. But than he claims those actions being legal is anti-Christian. It's a completely groundless statement. Christians have been legally sinning for thousands of years. Humans are flawed beings, and sometimes they can't resist temptation. The only one harmed by many sins is their own spirituality though, there's no reason for man to punish sin when man is not harmed. What's important is they do their best to avoid sin and pray for forgiveness and repentance when they fail. God is forgiving. None of the laws he's talking about force anyone to sin. He's completely unhinged.
  15. As a non-denominational Christian, there's no way I can conscience voting for the conservatives. Right wing politics just don't align with the ideals of Christianity. I'm not really keen on the liberals. Social Democracy most aligns with the core tenets of Christianity, and so I usually vote NDP for ideological reasons. If the destruction of American Democracy scares the liberals into putting electoral reform back on their platform they'd get my vote though, because first past the post is awful and the NDP don't stand a chance in my riding, and strengthening our democracy is the best way to prevent Canada from suffering the same fate as the US. It's my number one policy issue.
  16. You are unhinged. Maybe you should talk to a therapist. I pray for your troubled soul.
  17. Canada is a strong country. If we went full war footing in preparation the only countries we'd need allies to protect ourselves from are Nuclear powers, and if we have assurances that no one will nuke us only the US, China, and maybe India would be a serious threat to us. Of those, only the US is likely to attempt to annex Canada before it targets one of Canada's allies. We have both France and the UK for a nuclear guarantee even without the US. So we don't need the US to protect us. We just need a guarantee that it won't invade us. Having an alliance with the US is great and we've done our part to carry our weight in NATO, but we aren't taking advantage of the US. Our military situation is in a state where we let the US take advantage of us by purchasing from them. I don't consider that a bad deal since the US offers a much stronger security guarantee to Canada than Canada does to the US, but if the US doesn't like the state of our alliance we can take our business elsewhere, although it'll take a while because of how dependent everything is currently.
  18. Well, The United States could probably quit all of its alliances, go isolationist for a while, and than beg NATO to let it back in after China eats asia and it realizes it can't actually ignore China anymore, and it... probably wouldn't be too late to oppose China at that point. But it's not a very great timeline, especially since it won't actually benefit the Americans to cut off the rest of the world economically.
  19. Despite how little dignity Donald Trump has, I do think we need to be wary of how we treat the united states. They have a land border with us and are a military super power. Canada needs to stand up for ourselves, but we need to be diplomatic. Just entirely disrespecting the United States could go very very poorly for us.
  20. NATO certainly needs to prepare for the possibility of a future without the United States. We need to diversify our logistics and supply lines. We cannot solely rely on the United States for any aspect of our military production, we must be able to produce everything ourselves in the event the united states chooses to abandon us. None of the NATO nations could stand up to the United States on our own if it chose to start annexing nato nations by force. Putin is eying eastern Europe with greed. Alliances are more necessary than ever.
  21. The question in this poll is rather ambiguous. Is it that they think a weaker United states will be good for the rest of the world? Or were they living in some fantasy where they didn't see Trump trying to enact the Project 2025 dismantling of democratic institutions coming and are just delusional? Because his cronies are already putting that shit into practice and the united states of America is guaranteed to be more corrupt than ever even if American democracy survives another trump term.
  22. You were wrong because you never responded to my argument in the first place yet still said it was incorrect. I already explained this. Please come back and try your argument again.
  23. And your memory problems have acted up again. Please come back and try your argument again.
  24. Come on, cheer up, you don't have to feel bad about being wrong. You're on the path to improvement.
