There is no point in pretending Trump's White House Staffing was not a complete crap show for most of 4 years. He did not have enough good advisors or experienced executive branch people to help him or be in a position to help him enough. He was also his worst enemy because he was not formal in dealing with people. He hired far too many political friends or connected people, folks with ulterior motives. Trump needed a far more disciplined cabinet, and the staff were loyal to him and hardworking. My point was quite simple. Most people that day showed up for a peaceful protest and left. The vast majority of those who stayed and engaged in any criminal activity were not involved in any plot to overthrow the government and engaged in no violence or destruction. The extent of their criminal activity was the equivalent of trespassing. They wandered around and left. That doesn't make them traitors, and saying they are is absurd nonsense. The DOJ is expending vast amounts of its resources to punish people as much as it can to not only absurd limits but clearly to a vindictive political motivation. They ignore equal and more significant crimes or not going after them nearly as much. I follow a lawyer who defends as many folks as he can that were involved that day, and the stories he shares are crazy for how the government is trying to overcharge people. They even have a case before the Supreme Court now for how they pushed one particular law to beyond its limits to interpret in such a way to nail people even more. That looks like it will get quashed and a lot of sentences reduced.
