That is because you don't understand physics or firearms. If a bullet grazes you, most of that energy remains in the bullet as it flys by. It is perfectly possible and reasonable that a bullet can hit someone in the ear like that and not completely tear it off. A bullet from ar AR-15 is traveling at some 3,000 feet per second give or take. These rounds pierce flesh, unless they start tumbling which allows them to transfer more of their energy into flesh. Obviously not much to tumble on through an ear. There is also this photo claimed by the photographer and reported on as being the image of the bullet caught traveling past his head... But what a stupid triviality to get hung up on, as if it were glass that somehow makes all this better?
