  1. It's clear from your replies, that you are not educated about this conflict. I have nothing further to say to you.
  2. Classic whataboutism. There has rarely been an example of a clear cut case of right and wrong, as the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The sole objective was to reclaim the areas of the Soviet Union that broke off in 1991. Additionally, Russia has falsely claimed that Ukraine traditionally belongs to Russia (Ukraine is older than Russia), and that people in Eastern Ukraine are really ethnically Russian (2/3+ of Eastern Ukrainians are Ukrainian). First off, can you prove that a significant number of Ukrainians are on "welfare?" Here in Canada, most found work within 6 months of arriving. The death toll for Ukraine is roughly 60% of what it is for Russia. About 75,000 Russians have been killed, and 50,000 Ukrainians have perished. From all reports, morale is still high among the Ukrainians, and they are determined to fight on. Russia, OTOH, has battled with low morale, drug and drinking problems, and desertion.
  3. Edmonton-Calgary High Speed Rail Line https://majorprojects.alberta.ca/details/Edmonton-Calgary-High-Speed-Rail-Line/4494 Prairie Link Rail Partnership (EllisDon & AECOM) is proposing to build a high speed rail link between Edmonton and Calgary. The project would allow passengers and freight to travel between the two cities at speeds up to 400 km/h. On June 8, 2021, Prairie Link Rail Partnership announced an MOU with Alberta Transportation. This is a private sector initiated unsolicited P3 proposal which the Government of Alberta is evaluating under an Unsolicited Framework process. Design work is on-going and will continue for the next 6 months. Indigenous engagement has already commenced, and an advisory committee has been established. Location on map is not exact and does not represent an accurate depiction of the proposed route.
  4. I would not doubt some are contemplating peace negotiations. I'll believe this when it happens. Let's not forget the USA funded Afghanistan's guerrilla warfare against the Soviet Union for nearly a decade. Aside from that the onus is on the Ukrainians to accept the peace terms, which they almost certainly will not want to do. Like most normal people, I hate what Russia has done- invading a weaker military nation, and committing war crimes without provocation. It seems like you hate what is right and wrong. Russia and the Ukraine have battled for the Eastern provinces for nearly two years. Ukraine has actually made advances in the Northeast and South. They are also destroying infrastructure in the Crimea. You seem really desperate for Ukraine to surrender for some bizarre reason.
  5. Quit binge watching Russian propaganda videos and news, and you may get a sense of how the war is actually going. Win or lose, Russia will be in far worse shape than 20 20 months ago, since this war will set the nation back for decades. The myth of Russia being this "superpower" has been exposed as a paper tiger.
  6. Russia is going to be in such a state of disarray when this war ends. They already have experienced 300,000 casualties. If we look at the demographics of Russia, there are 147 million people. However, the Russians ahve had issues with population decline, as there are more people over 55 than under 18. Also, the vast majority of the military is 18-40 year old men. My guess is the number of men aged 18-40 would be roughly 25-30 million people. So already they have lost over 1% of that age group. This may seem like not that much, but a disproportionate number of recruits are from prison, rural areas, and non-Russian satellite states like Chechnya and Dagestan. It's only a matter of time before they either run out of recruits from these areas, and have to draft young men in the larger predominantly Russian cities. Shit is going to hit the fan when young middle class people from Moscow and St.Petersberg are forced to fight in Ukraine.
  7. You may want to reread history if you think Churchill authored or was responsible for implementing the White Paper. Once again, this is historically inaccurate. The British abandoned Palestine, and handed it over to the UN, after Jewish groups, mainly the Haganah (future IDF) were engaging guerrilla warfare against the British, which included bombing the King David hotel. The British realised this was a no-win situation, as both groups were against them. The main reason for postwar aid to the Jews of Palestine, was Western guilt for not helping the Jews escape from the Holocaust. This was especially true in North America, where there was a significant Jewish population. The money raised by International Jewish organisations also helped Israel buy military equipment from many countries in Europe, which was beneficial as the War of Independence progressed.
  8. It had nothing to do with that. At the end of the war, the British Empire was being dismantled, and they gave the territory to the UN. If Britain was worried about securing oil, they never would have written the Balfour Declaration in 1917, since it was going to upset the Arabs. Securing oil would have been easier, if the British gave Palestine to the Arabs. The fight has been over for decades. Israel is too strong, and could pretty much defeat any nation in the immediate vicinity.
  9. The White Paper was implemented in 1939, to appease the Arab World so they would not align themselves with Nazi Germans, considering they had an abundance of oil for the war effort. Prior to the, the Balfour Declaration was implemented in 1917, promising the land of Palestine as a future Jewish homeland.
  10. LOL @ colonisation. The region has numerous regional powers rule over it through thousands of years. Greeks, Romans, Crusaders, Ottomans, British, etc. From 1917-47, the British ruled over the territory. I would not call it "colonialism, considering Israel was a historical Jewish homeland. Most of the World has been fought over be various tribes, races, ethnic groups, etc. The more powerful group won. Deal with it.
  11. No country named Palestine has ever existed.
  12. Winston Churchill had nothing to do with the White Paper in 1939. In fact, Churchill was not even PM of Britain until 1940, after Neville Chamberlain's appeasement policy failed so miserably, that he stepped down.
  13. This post is so incredible that one would assume it is parody.
  14. Where are they welcome (aside from Canada)?
  15. Oh God. Get out the tinfoil hats, folks!
  16. The Israeli member of parliament was probably not being serious. As if the Irish would want that problem, or ever agree to it.
  17. We all knew this about the Palestinians ages ago. They hate Israel and Western Culture more than improving their lives. I knew this when they danced in the streets on 9/11 over 20 years ago. I mean what kind of warped mindset does one have to celebrate the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians not once but twice? Now in every Western nation, we see the truth. These people are just using Israel as a convenience excuse to expose their hatred of our Western way of life. Just look at what is happening at the White House and numerous other Democratic nations as proof.
  18. Just like the American system that has worked so well?
  19. When push comes to shove, I really doubt any type of separation movement would get anything over 33% in Alberta or BC in an actual referendum.
  20. I thought the same thing, and looked it up. Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm is more serious than a DUI and leaving the scene of an accident combined. My guess is that he will attempt to plead guilty to DUI if he enters a plea.
  21. He was charged with Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm.
  22. I just wanted to remind everyone that drinking and driving is not worth the risk.

  23. I'm glad Scott Moe has matured. In the 90s, he drove drunk all the time, and had two DUI's. He also blew through a stop sign, and killed a woman.
