When losing an argument, always bring up irrelevant issues like.......Transgenders. These people are not arguing in good faith, or they are intellectually limited, and easily influenced by Russian propaganda. I would quit debating, and enjoy life. The USA entered the war on December 7, 1941. At the time, Germany was deep into Russian territory, and would be gearing up a massive spring offensive, which they thought would finish off the Soviets. Do you even know the first thing about WWII? japan did destroy a major US military base in hawaii (Pearl Harbour), and if the Americans had not went to war immediately, it would be safe to say Alaska, and eventually the West Coast of the United States would be next. it is in the best interests of those of us who are intelligent enough to see that a weakened Russia is of the best interest of North America and Europe. And why would anyone not root for Ukraine? This conflict is now 10 years old. Russia has never even entertained the idea of peace. Only Ukrainian surrender, and annexing large parts of Ukraine is acceptable to Putin and his cronies.

The US entering the war changed the outcome, and allowed the Americans to defeat the Japanese Empire in the Pacific, and make it possible for the Allies to invade Nazi occupied land by invading Italy in 1943, and then D-Day in 1944. OK, there are several things incorrect about this statement: 1. In 1943. Stalin, Roosevelt, and Churchill first got together in a conference to decide how to end the war, and what to do with Germany once the Nazis were defeated. After the battle of Stalingrad ended in February 1943, it was obvious that the Germans were going to lose the war. 2. Germany invaded Russia in June 1941. By 1944, Hitler was a complete drug addict, knowing that it was only a matter of time before the Russians and Allies defeated the Nazis. Peace was not possible after 1942, as Russia and the US would have flatly rejected anything other than unconditional surrender. 3. The War in Europe had been over for months when the Americans deployed nuclear weapons. The US decided on using nukes against the Japanese, since they had recaptured all the land outside Japan, and knew the Japanese would fight tooth and nail on their island, which would have resulted in massive American deaths. The Americans correctly thought that if they used nuclear weapons on two Japanese cities, it would avert any battle on mainland Japan. Japan was NOT speaking to Russia about a peace deal in 1945. Where do you come up with this nonsense? He is referring to real history, not imaginary history. The United States now has a military 1,000 times stronger than the one that fought in WWII. They are also easily the undisputed most powerful nation on earth. Not even close. Japan attacked a more powerful enemy, and paid the price. Japan was the aggressor. Ukraine has been victim of Russian aggression for over 500 years, and this is just the latest incident of the Russians invading their country. First off, the United States, did indeed rule over Japan for years. It may not have been a technical occupation, but there remains to this day US military bases in Japan and Germany. America helped rebuild Japan and Germany, into democratic nations that had similar values and principles. Ukraine can indeed still win the war with Russia if NATO gave the Ukrainians unlimited military weapons, and gave the green light to hit St.Petersburg and Moscow, where all the wealthy Russians live. Well what would you do in his situation? He is the leader of the country, and realises that a Russian victory would not only mean persecution for all Ukrainians in annexed territory, but his own possible demise. It's not like if a peace deal is signed, the Russians would give Ukrainians in Russian annexed territory full civil rights. It's obvious from the atrocities committed by Russia, that they would likely seek a terrible revenge on all Ukrainians. People care, because it is the right thing to do. I cannot remember in my lifetime, a military conflict being so black and white, with Russia being the aggressors, and Ukraine being victimised by Russian expansion. This happened in Georgia not too long ago. When you see the school bully physically assaulting students, and making threats against them, do you root him on too?

You just brought this up. The Jews had no desire to live in Europe, especially what was formerly Germany. They were promised Palestine by the British, who gave Palestine on the East side of the Jordan River to the Arabs. The British only rescinded their offer in 1939, as it was obvious that war was inevitable, and they did not want the Arab states aligned with Germany. Speaking of Jews and Arabs, are you aware that once Israel declared Independence, 900,000 Jews in Arab lands were expelled, most under duress? There are virtually no Jews left in Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Tunisia, Algeria, and other Arab lands. If Arabs can expel Jews from their lands, why cannot Jews do the same to the Palestinians?

This is, by far and away, the main reason I do not want Palestinians in my country. They have a history of celebrating attacks on Israel and America. On September 11, Palestinians were dancing on the street, singling, giving out candy and food. It was like a national holiday when the planes hit the Twin Towers in Palestine. It was not even 2 hours since the massacre of October 7, and on dozens of bridges over freeways in Toronto, Palestinians were waving flags, and dancing in the streets, as Hamas raped and murdered women and children. As someone said earlier, Canada should not only refuse entry to all Palestinians, but look for the troublemakers demonstrating on University campuses, and deport them all.

Most of those groups were aware that the Jews of Europe were systematically murdering all Jews, and were fighting for their very existence. Additionally, Arabs had been rioting and murdering Jews periodically, since the Balfour Declaration was implemented in 1917. Strange that you conveniently omit this fact.

Funny. I seem to recall the United States perpetually funding enemies of the Soviet Union for over 40 years, until the collapse of Communism in 1991. The end result was America stood alone as the World's superpower, and allowed us to maintain our high quality of life. Negotiating with autocratic leaders has never worked. What you want essentially is another Munich agreement (circa 1938), where Nazi Germany was given the Sudetenland for peace in Europe. We all know how that turned out. Putin (and historically, Russia) has never negotiated in goof faith. One cannot negotiate with bullies. They have to be dealt with by force. It's the only thing that will make them back down. :Negotiation table. AKA Ukraine surrendering.

Putin, the Kremlin, and a bunch of fools like the disgraced alcoholic Douglas MacGregor, and the convicted sex offender Scott Ritter claimed that Russia would defeat Ukraine in "less than 48 hours." It's now been nearly 2 1/2 years. The numbers? Like 500,000 Russian casualties of war. Considering the low birth rate in Russia, and the fact that most of the people dying are men 18-40, this will set Russia back a decade at least. NATO/USA was not involved in Donesk. Why do you side with Russia over NATO? Did you hate North America so much that you would pull a "Quisling" and collaborate with Canada's enemies?

You obviously have never heard of the Soviet invasion/occupation of Afghanistan (1979-89). The Russians may have "won" the war, but the constant insurgency by Afghani rebels bled the Soviet Union dry, and contributed to it's demise. This is what Ukraine is doing right now. Russia has been weakened to a point where Poland alone would easily defeat them, right now. A weak Russia is beneficial to North America. So unless you hate our way of life, I suggest you look in the mirror, and reevaluate your priorities.

The US and NATO have been involved in proxy wars with Russia since 1949. At one time, it was a given that most Americans supported many of these wars. Unfortunately, with social media we now have bad faith actors making the USA out to be the "bad guys" and Russia as the "good guys." 10 years ago i laughed at this type of propaganda. wondering who would be foolish enough to fall for it. Sadly a significant percentage of Americans have, including most of the Republican Party.

Do you know how to distinguish right from wrong? Invading a sovereign nation, committing war crimes, raping and killing women and children, and kidnapping thousands of Ukrainian children and forcing them into Russia is justified because Ukraine is corrupt???
