Yep. This was always a rash decision. The only thing Vance adds to the ticket is an Ohio presence. He's wildly unqualified to be President as backup to an old and unhealthy Trump. And he doesn't do anything to expand the tent or diversify the appeal. Trump might have been counting his chickens, thinking he could coast in a race against Biden. Vance may not be a liability, per-se, but the opportunity cost was huge.
