  1. Same reasons that elected officials don't just reflect the public opinion of their constituents. The point of representation is that the responsibility is delegated to a person who is (hopefully) smarter and definitely better informed and more focused on the issues. It's their job to know the politics, know the players and the secondary and tertiary ramifications of statements, actions and policies--to know better how to protect the interests of the union members. Teamsters are majority white men and not well educated--right in the Trump core demo. They don't know that Trump and his allies are anti-labor, anti union and would be terrible for their livelihoods. The leadership does understand that, so they can't endorse Trump. --and frankly I think they are making a mistake by not maintaining their close relationship with the Democrats. Biden was good for labor. The teamsters are trying to hedge and play both sides, but only the Democrats actually want a relationship. Not a good hedge.
  2. I have no idea what's happening in Ohio, but if those things are actual concerns, perhaps you should send word to the Trump campaign and implore them to talk about real issues instead of having the candidate make a clown of himself on national TV? Either take your pills or put down the bottle. In either case the Internet is too dangerous a place for someone in your poor condition.
  3. They don't know what parts are under there or how they might smush together with their own parts, but hot damn are they obsessively curious to find out.
  4. I think we can all agree that poaching is bad. What we can't all agree on is that a random, uncorroborated claim about poaching should not lead to a candidate for POTUS spending national TV time fanning anti-immigrant hysteria with made up stories about immigrants eating people's pets as if it's a new epidemic. How do you people do anything jumping from rumor to "fact" to conspiracy theory all the time? The world isn't going to hell in a handbasket, but I can see how it might feel that way to people who don't have critical thinking skills.
  5. No, it's a Twitter post. 🙄
  6. In case you don't realize how unhinged you've become... You are citing as fact that 75% of arrests in NYC are illegal immigrants--based solely on one tabloid paper report of an offhand comment from one alleged beat cop. This has just bounced around your echo chamber enough that you think it's a true fact. Or let's break down that last paragraph: 1. You think record supply of domestic oil has magically upended the laws of economics and resulted in higher costs 2. You think Harris (who has no power of her own to change the law) is letting criminals, drugs and trafficking victims across the border when your candidate killed a bipartisan bill that would have provided for more enforcement, expedited removal and a number of other universally agreed upon upgrades to our current laws. 3. You think a person vocally in support of Ukraine is "support[ing] Russia. Relative to your candidate who is eager to give Ukraine to Russia. (And nobody in government "supports" Hamas or Iran. The worst that may be said is that people disapprove of what Israel is doing.) It's like you live in bizarro world and don't even know it.
  7. No, it's because you don't think through any of the conspiracy nonsense you spew. You'll say with a (slack jawed) straight face that Crooks registered as a republican to access Trump's non-secret event schedule, but that he did so a year before Trump even announced that he was running--let alone had any schedule. 🙄
  8. You guys know that Twitter (X) exists as a platform, right? Anyone can go there and see what random fools are posting. You really don't need to try to turn this place into Twitter lite. Gods know that you don't need to import stupid content when your domestic production is at record levels.
  9. Lol. No, you didn't provide any such evidence, you loon. Jeebus.
  10. Among your extensive list of "greatest hits" this has to be the stupidest and most desperate of the conspiracy theories. Your premise is that an 18-year old registered as a Republican in September of 2021 to get "better access to Trump's" schedule for a candidacy that wasn't even declared until November of 2022. -- Did the kooky kid have access to your TV that shows the future? Are you in cahoots? Not to mention that there is no secret access for Republicans to Trump's campaign schedule. They are publicized events, FFS. So, so stupid.
  11. Not sure you've thought this through. Having DA, AG and US Senator on one's resume is rather classic qualification for VP or POTUS. Contrast that with reality TV host, or author-turned politician. Underqualified white men are the original bias hire, going strong for a coupla centuries now.
  12. The guy at the golf course was a Trump voter in 2016 (according to his social media posts) so I'd reject the idea that he was a democrat, let alone a leftist. Also supported Vivek Ramaswamy and Nikki Haley. Whatever he was politically, he clearly was animated primarily for support for Ukraine, and it seems very likely that Trump turning on Ukraine is the motivation here. You don't have to be a Democrat to hate Trump. "While you were my choice in 2016, I and the world hoped that President Trump would be different and better than the candidate, but we all were greatly disappointed and it seems you are getting worse and devolving," he said."
  13. Well, whatever is going on with that mess up ^^there it's certain to ensure that your expectation will be fulfilled.
  14. Ah, a naked link. The tacit admission that you came up empty. Indeed, if you had read that article you'd know that it neither asserts nor demonstrates NY Times supporting Hitler. It's simple reporting. I don't suppose you've put 2+2 together to understand why Vox article was written, have you? Ever since he kicked off his 2015 campaign, Trump has run every play from the Hitler political playbook, from scapegoating immigrants to threatening to lock up his opponents and proclaiming himself a savior for the people. Yet, in 2016 there were many Trump apologists proclaiming that his rhetoric was not deeply felt or as extreme as it sounded, but rather a cynical appeal to capture the votes of deplorables, and that as President, Trump would be much more moderate than candidate Trump. This Vox article was written to remind the world that apologists for Hitler once told the same tale, and the world went to war because people didn't believe he was who he said he was. A lesson and reminder we still need, apparently.
  15. That sounds like something you read in a conservative chain email or stupid meme. Surely they would have covered him as a figure in world politics, but I'd bet a box of Timbits that you can't produce evidence of "support." As a fan of Fox News, you may not know what journalism looks like, but outside of the bubble it's well understood that you can talk to or about someone without supporting or endorsing that person.
  16. Okay. Your opinions about one of the most trusted news brands in the world, as well as your debunked conspiracy theories have been noted.
  17. Well, yeah. When one has established oneself as an unreliable "messenger" then that fact certainly is the messenger's fault. Isn't that obvious? It's so obvious that "the libbies" cheated, but apparently you're all too stupid to uncover evidence of the obvious? Solid argument. 🙄
  18. They who? The young republican and the disillusioned Trump supporter? Seems unlikely either of them were protesting Trump's inauguration in 2017.
  19. People should stop paying attention to Rasmussen at this point. They actively stopped trying to discern opinion some years ago and shifted to a mission of creating opinion. And if there were cheating in the most scrutinized election in our history, we'd know. But it's a fictional grievance and consequently there's not a bit of evidence to be found. Don't be stupid--or restrain yourself as much as possible. If a candidate dies or withdraws between voting and the convention, of course the delegates are going to vote on a replacement. Which is exactly what they did.
  20. 140 officers injured. You either go to some very strange hockey games or you're just lying again. And yes, as always, the people boasting about their "1776 moment" certainly intended regime change--or in this case illegal regime stasis.
  21. Someone tried to block the entrance in protest? Vs. storming the Capitol to hunt down (and do god knows what) to Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi and overturn an election. Sure, no difference. 🙄
  22. Dynamite substantive reply. 👍
  23. I don't think you need to worry about "the left" as much as your own kooks. He was shot at by a registered Republican and nearly shot at by a crazy dude who supported him in 2016 (and no actual "leftist" ever supported Trump). As for what would happen, we'd all condemn political violence for a minute and then go vote in the Vance vs Harris election and hope for a better future. Same things that happened after the Kennedy brothers were shot or after Reagan was shot etc.
  24. Who farking cares which was "more violent." Widespread month-long social protests should not be compared to a farking political insurrection. The Watts riots were violent, the LA riots in 92 were violent. but nobody has ever before smashed through our capital and tried to hunt down our legislators to overturn an election.
  25. Not remotely "the same" and you look like a buffoon when you pretend that they are. Literally no one believes that.
