  1. That was a quick backtrack. I am shocked to my core! If one refuses to be corrected when called out, it's no longer a mistake. It's a lie. Not to mention the sad attempts to paper over the false claim with non-supporting links. Nevertheless, now that you've acknowledged a distinction between lying and being mistaken, I'll look forward to watching you apply that to other scenarios. Maybe I'll quote you on it. ?
  2. Holy crap. It's almost a full year old, so the production numbers are old/smaller, but otherwise you posted an article saying *exactly* what I've told you a half dozen times. When demand cratered in the pandemic sites were closed, companies went out of business, workers left the industry, and that it takes time to bring production back online, so it's lagging demand. It also says that the oil companies have a crap ton of permits they are developing, also not instant. Also, as in our past conversations, what it does not mention is even a single action Biden has actually taken that is holding back production or would prevent the oil companies from meeting demand. Indeed it acknowledges that production has gone up rapidly. Oh, also doesn't touch on global market pricing, but perhaps that is out of scope. It's a short article. Anybody curious about the issue should read.
  3. Full points for consistency. Your posts always manage to have the exact same amount of substance. You've been invited to participate with facts and evidence many times. You just don't seem interested, or perhaps not capable.
  4. It wasn't a typo, out a one-off. You could have corrected it at any time if it were a matter of semantics. But now I'll be interested to see how long you think a person's exact wording isn't really important. And no, I don't know that the FBI attempted any such thing. I know it's a conspiracy theory that you've embraced and a narrative you're trying to weave, but it's not supported by the totality of facts, particularly in the context of the time. What I see is everyone from traditional media, to social media, to the FBI trying to avoid a repeat of the bogus October surprise that was sprung in 2016 to the benefit of the Trump campaign. What I see is everyone involved trying NOT to become unwitting accomplices to Russian interference (again). Interference, which, by the way, was in operation again in 2020, once again with Kilimnik involved. Sometimes people and institutions get things wrong, and sometimes they make the wrong call for the right reasons.
  5. I think you've got an ass-backward idea about what is embarassing. I, for example, would be embarrassed if I kept making claims that were contradicted by obvious and readily available evidence. You, on the other hand, seem to pride yourself on it. You say walls work great, even though both the number of breaches and illegal entries have spiked along with the wall. You say the oil industry is trampled, despite every single metric soaring. ? Honestly, I think you just say whatever feels convenient in the moment and have no concern about whether it's true or false--or indeed, has already been demonstrated as false. But I don't think you're embarrassed at all. In fact, I think like most trolls, you thrive on it.
  6. Yes, both of those mandates seem to be smart and helpful. Thanks for identifying what you were referring to. Oh, this conversation about oil seems familiar. I assume you still have no facts to support your argument that an industry has been "squelched" to near-record domestic production and record profits? Meanwhile, the facts contradict every claim you make. We should all be so lucky to enjoy such a squelching. And a totally unsubstantiated claim about international sabotage, without even a smidgen of evidence Wheeee! You've invented your own little reality.
  7. Well, as long as we've properly established "who gets to call whom a liar."? As for the rest of the claims, it's a mixed bag. That's sort of the point of a Gish gallop in the first place. They are posted knowing full well that no one is going to provide an itemized debunking of a dozen things, so one can claim whatever they want without challenge. And if someone does challenge a few of the points then the galloper will say "Well, what about the rest?" As if by inference the points as yet undebunked should be assumed true. Look, politicians are spinning everything all the time. It's sort of the job. They are all liars, to a degree. But I don't think Biden's loose relationship with the truth has anything to do with him being a politician. I think if he worked at a hardware store he's be the same guy, embellishing and exaggerating his life experiences as part of raconteur persona. He once (or more) referred to a double major as two degrees. He exaggerated the immediacy of his family's coal mining history, etc. Reagan was similar in that regard. And we've all known these people, who think a little extra color will make their stories better and their points more persuasive. And they're right, until they get caught! Biden has certainly had his share of fish tales, and some of them were real whoppers. I don't think that's nearly the same thing as Santos, who has concocted an entirely fictional character and, playing that part, has managed to get it elected to the US House of Representatives. Voters and peers don't seem to think it's the same thing either.?‍♂️
  8. It's cute that you have an opinion. Come back when you have facts, data, evidence etc. You know, the stuff grown ups are always going on about.
  9. Is there a border? Is there a border patrol? Is there fencing and gates etc? Are some people being tuned back? Are the people meet the standards for asylum seekers being properly and legally processed? If yes to the above, the border is not farking open. Just one post ago you said the fossil fuel industry was trampled. Now you agree that it's thriving. Can you have a talk with yourself and then get back to me after you two have worked out your differences? Link to a federal US vax mandate, please? Happy to address on a case by case basis when you identify something real and specific.. As for your pipeline sabotage conspiracy theory, there's not really anything to discuss there. Let me know when you have more than just your vivid imagination to debate.
  10. So instead of a study or any sort of authoritative report, you posted an article from a sketchy partisan tabloid with single quote about efficacy, made almost 3 full years ago when construction was like 25% complete? In your mind that is a reasonable response to a study from a few months ago? Really? And you're patting yourself on the back about it? Jeebus. And I don't have any love for CATO. It's just that a Libertarian think-tank is typically less objectionable to right leaning folks than most media outlets. But you're welcome to look at the data from some other source. The net is that despite the fancy new "wall" there were more breaches and border crossings surged.
  11. This is a good example. You are listing fiction. The border has not been opened. Never happened. The fossil fuel industry is thriving--for both good and ill. What vaxx mandates? And I still can't tell if you think that the US government physically sabotaged a pipeline, because that's really far down the conspiracy rabbit hole. Deficit spending to stave off crisis (as in times of war etc.) is fine and strategically sound. But if you're not a fan of deficit spending you'll surely appreciate that deficits have come down from Trump levels under the Biden administration. Lemme know if you want to talk about facts and evidence rather than what's happening in your imagination.
  12. Sure. Just one page back on default. "The FBI had Hunter's laptop in their possession for 11 months before they released a statement in Oct 2020, one month before the presidential election, saying that the laptop story was Russian disinformation. They knew for a fact that it was not Russian D because, like I said, they had it for almost a year themselves. So they LIED."
  13. Did they work? Or did the number of breaches actually go up? Waiting on your cite. Not holding my breath.
  14. Sure they do... "President Trump promised an “impenetrable” border wall. Trump built (with some help from Biden) about 450 miles of his wall, accounting for two‐thirds of the border fence, and the remaining sections are more recent designs that the Trump administration left because it largely approved of them. Despite the construction of these exceedingly expensive new barriers, crossers are breaching the border wall more frequently than before, according to data obtained by the Cato Institute through a recent Freedom of Information Act request. Based on the first half of fiscal year 2022, the border wall was on pace for 3,322 breaches—more than the number of breaches in any of the prior six years. Figure 1 shows the number of breaches by fiscal year. The problem has only grown with Trump’s barriers."
  15. You claimed that the FBI released a statement assessing the laptop story as Russian disinformation. That claim is false. Now, post after post, you continue digging deeper. You won't correct your misinformation or admit any mistake. You are now lying, blatantly, obviously, in front of everyone without remorse. Hence, you are hypocrite and a shameless liar. And a two-bit hack to boot. Why would anyone care about your speculation and conspiracy theories when you outright refuse to be honest about the basic facts of the matter? Probably some more name calling will help next time. Any minute now people will forget that you are shamelessly lying to us. Probably the next post, or the one after that, or the one...
  16. Wow, a lot more words without you admitting to your lie. Lying while complained about lying? I think there's a name for that... I don't see any point in discussing deeper issues when you can't even be honest about the basic facts that you've misrepresented. But keep posting paragraphs. Maybe we'll forget. I'm sure it's working.
  17. I'm sure it makes you feel better to imagine you are part of some silent majority, but the facts don't support that. And the facts do not support your wild conspiracy theories. That's why your can't present facts and evidence in support of your arguments. Now, a normal, healthy person upon discovering that the facts do not align with their beliefs can adjust their belief to align with facts. Learning. However, the disordered mind turns to paranoia and delusion to protect and preserve the belief. The sky really is green, there's just a conspiracy to call it blue! Now sure, we all do this in little ways (often when we look in the mirror!) but when you start making big decisions in this state and it negatively impacts your life, and the lives of others, it's time to seek help.
  18. Boy, that's a lot of words to *still* not admit that you were FOS when you claimed that the FBI issued a statement calling the laptop Russian disinformation. More lies from WestCanMan. Demonstrably untrustworthy.
  19. Dude, if you actually want to convince anyone of anything you might try facts and evidence. The real kind, objective and verifiable. Until then, enjoy existing in your be strange conspiracy world of fictional grievances. You may be entertained, but you'll never be relevant. You should be very grateful for the Internet, because it's a lot more comfortable to stay home in the winter than to stand on a street corner ranting and handing out pamphlets.
  20. Right? Like, "Here's a lunatic on YouTube, you should listen to his thoughts on serious matters and be persuaded." We live in very strange times.
  21. You are objectively worthless. Every post you make is full of lies and misinformation and everyone is worse off for having read them. No need to see them anymore. Ignored.
  22. Jeebus. It's not a conspiracy. The courts and the media are not in cahoots. They are just not gullible lunatics. Kari Lake's case is the dumbest of all. Republicans did not steal the election from Republicans. There is no issue to debate. There are just sore losers willing to sacrifice anything for their egos -- including the people they claim to want to serve. And if you hadn't noticed, election denialism isn't an appealing strategy. You will continue to lose (and then pretend you didn't) until you reconnect with reality where the bulk of the electorate live
  23. Mote and plank. It's not even close.
  24. The president's fake news network knew he was FOS and laughed about it off camera. His cases were laughed out of court about 60 times--sometimes almost literally. The most MAGA friendly SCOTUS ever didn't even think the cases were worth hearing. He never produced even a shred of evidence of any kind. And still you believe, lol. Might want to have those senses recalibrated.
  25. I can't speak for Canada, but in the US this question isn't much of a mystery. Urban voters are younger, better educated, have higher incomes, more racial and social diversity, more immigrants, arts and culture, etc. Rural areas are older, whiter, less educated. There's nothing wrong with enjoying a rural lifestyle, but choosing it is sort of like saying "I don't want to change, I don't want things to change, I don't want new and different, so I'm staying right here." It's why small towns suffer from brain drain. The people who grow up there who are interested in new experiences and challenges leave. Sometimes they come back, but in general it's a shrinking, aging population. They just don't have much in common and are looking in different directions.
