Lies. There is NO manual anywhere that instructs officers to kneel on a person's neck for 9+ minutes. Quite the opposite. The Minneapolis chief of police testified that the restraint was not trained, authorized or compliant. The use-of-force instructor who developed the curriculum which was used in Chauvin's training testified that it was not approved. Chauvin himself, admitted that what he did was not compliant with his training or departmental policy. "The defendant admits that in using this unreasonable and excessive force, he acted willfully and in callous and wanton disregard ofthe consequences to Mr. Floyd's life. The defendant knew that what he was doing was wrong, in part, because it was contrary to his training as an MPD officer. The defendant chose to continue his use of force even though he knew from MPD policy and training that once Mr. Floyd was compliant, the defendant should have gotten off of him and moved him into a side recovery or seated position. The defendant also knew there was no legal justification to continue his use of force because he was aware that Mr. Floyd not only stopped resisting, but also stopped talking, stopped moving, stopped breathing, and lost consciousness and a pulse" You will say anything to defend the indefensible, but your lies won't change reality. Chauvin is now and will remain a convicted murderer.

^^This is the dumbest pile of fever swamp nonsense compiled in some time. Literally none of it is even close to true. Go back on your meds.

Again, complete fabrication on your part. With the exception of the long-term "occupations" in Portland and Seattle, the "riots" were functionally over by early June--and protests went on long after. Exactly nothing happened with the release of the body cam footage, which only further incriminated convicted murderer Derek Chauvin. Meanwhile, thank goodness you're here to spam the video of two random black men with opinions over and over and over again. Bravo!

Oh, I'm lying? Great, then you can point out where you did, in fact, correct your false statements attributing the content of the article to Yahoo News rather that the actual publisher, USA Today. See, a decent, honest person has no problem admitting a simple error. You fundamentally dishonest types will say anything to deflect and deny, even when we can all see the simple truth in stark black and white. So a casual observation that doesn't much matter will become a multi-post circus that will drag on until you slink away again. Good times...

Hey, Goofus, I know you like randomly ranting about stuff being "far left" (despite not having any idea what that actually means) but Yahoo News doesn't have any political bent. They are a news aggregator, as happy to reprint Fox as anything else. The article you're whining about currently is from USA Today. Go cry to them about it.🙄

John Oliver's takedown of SCOTUS ethics
Hodad replied to Hodad's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
@WestCanMan as always, caught red handed for all the world to see, and no retraction, no comment, no adjustment of opinion to assign to actual facts. Just tucks tail and slinks away. -- And he'll be posting the same lies again in a week or two. Stay, classy.🙄 -
Are the Democrats an Actual Cult?
Hodad replied to WestCanMan's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
We actually rolled out a few vaccine passports during the pandemic. It's as simple as a phone app and a blockchain record. You could put a QR code on paper too, but either way it's discreet, secure and portable. As far as I'm concerned, anti-vaxxers are, as you say, a literal threat to the rest of us. Their ignorance and lack of responsibility and consideration are lethal. We have children dying--including vaccinated children and those who can't be vaccinated--dying of diseases that were functionally eradicated decades ago. All because these ignorant a-holes decided they were qualified to form medical opinions based on random shit from the Internet. Lethal stupidity. If they can't be concerned enough to protect the rest of us, they should forfeit much of the benefit of polite society. -

Lol. Like your tubby, orange Messiah, you just say whatever nonsense seems helpful in the moment, completely oblivious--and indifferent to--reality. And also like him, that habit makes you a joke that no one can take seriously. 🤣 From your friends at Fox... -
The Great Big 2024 Election Battle Thread!
Hodad replied to CdnFox's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Ooh, you've bumped it for a fourth time this week. You must be obsessed. Everyone can see what you said. Everyone can click the link directly to your posts. Pretending like the links aren't there, when everyone can see them playing as day, just reminds us what a shameless liar you are. Please, keep bumping this conversation forever. Let your deplorable flag fly, dummy! -
You are bad at reading. In this case, I can't even tell whether it's accidentally or deliberately dishonest.🤷♀️ "At the Young Republican mixer Friday evening, a group of Nazis who openly identified as national socialists mingled with mainstream conservative personalities, including some from Turning Point USA"

Trump’s Next Legal Move: Personal Bankruptcy
Hodad replied to robosmith's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Mar-a-lago is funky because Trump couldn't afford the upkeep on it and had it converted from a residence to a private club. That's why the county valuation is out of sync with the houses neighborhood: it's not a house. Looks like that valuation method has been saving Trump over $17 million in taxes per year. You can read about it. Trump is playing with both values--not that I blame him for trying with that one. At any rate, that's one of many properties at issue. Even if you wanted to toss it out as an outlier, Trump is still a fraudster. 🤷♀️ -
Trump’s Next Legal Move: Personal Bankruptcy
Hodad replied to robosmith's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Let me get this straight. You are claiming that the only time people are caught and punished for using a fake ID is when there is a harmful outcome? If you pause to think about that, you can see it's obviously not correct. But it's also beside the point. Again, we make and enforce and punish all sorts of laws and rules based on violation of those laws rather than harmful outcomes. What conservative America is trying to do right now with regard to Trump's fraud is too say "no harm, no foul." But even the dumbest among them won't show up at traffic court to dispute a speeding ticket by saying, "Yeah, I broke the law, but I didn't have an accident!" It's quite a silly defense. The question of why this is a civil case rather than a criminal case is a well-worn path. Point of fact, the State of NY is not prosecuting Trump. There is no prosecutor involved. In this case, the state of NY is the plaintiff, and the case is initiated by the attorney general, not a DA. There is a jurisdictional division. The AG can't bring a criminal case in this instance, but can bring a civil case. Conceivably, I believe a DA could bring criminal charges for the same activity, but it would be a different case. -

John Oliver's takedown of SCOTUS ethics
Hodad replied to Hodad's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
OMG, perfect example, because it comes back to one of your favorite lies: no rain during the inauguration speech! You are lying again now (or you've been misled by your magic TV!) because Oliver showed the image of Melania holding the umbrella over herself during Trump's speech. Because it was farking raining. It's similar to an image I showed you multiple times while you denied and denied and denied that it rained during the inauguration! Literally anyone can click the link (56 seconds) and see that you are lying. We can all see that you're lying. So what is broken inside you that you don't even care that we can see that you're lying? Hell, I'll even give you the screenshot, so nobody has to open a new tab to see that you're lying. There's Melania, holding the umbrella over herself while Trump is speaking. I'm sure multi-award winning journalist John Oliver is eagerly waiting for your apology.🙄 -
Trump’s Next Legal Move: Personal Bankruptcy
Hodad replied to robosmith's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
This is shoddy philosophy. If a tree falls in the financial forest and no one is around to hear it, did it really fall? Well, yeah. It did. If an 18 year old uses a fake ID to rent a car (assume the requirement to rent is age 25) but returns the car in good condition, has the renter committed fraud? Well, yes. In an orderly society, should there be a consequence? Yes, there should. Even though no party was harmed, and the company benefitted financially as expected, a transgression was still committed, no? It's still reasonable to apply consequences to the individual, no? If someone drinks and drives, do they deserve a legal consequence for that action, even if they didn't cause an accident? Rules exist to prevent bad/tragic outcomes. When the rules are broken, there are consequences--whether or not a tragic outcomes potentially occurred. Laws address risk, not just outcomes. That's what make rules enforceable. ^^Yes, I know that the Trump fraud case was civil, not criminal. It could have been criminal in other jurisdictions. Not really relevant to the comparison. -
Trump’s Next Legal Move: Personal Bankruptcy

As point of fact, he doesn't have to pay to appeal, he simply has to put the funds in escrow. If he were to win on appeal (he won't) nothing has been paid. It actually protects both parties. The winner can't go after the loser's funds and property until the appeal is finished. And the loser can be confident that the winner isn't hiding/destroying assets. It puts both parties on pause. But given your emotional reaction to the perception of paying to operate normally while awaiting a judgment or appeal, can I assume that you support reform for cashless bail? -
John Oliver's takedown of SCOTUS ethics
Hodad replied to Hodad's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Eh, they may or not care about the comedy aspect, but yes, intelligent people care about the commentary of astute critics. Mark Twain is probably the ultimate example of an astute critic who delivered much of his criticism satirically. The idea that the justices of the SCOTUS have no ethical standards or oversight should be anathema to most people. The idea that a SCOTUS justice could be (effectively) paid to remain on the bench, or literally paid to leave the bench, should be alarming to anyone. Clarence Thomas may be the worst offender (and it's pretty egregious), but it's not really a partisan issue. The justices should have clear standards and oversight. They've forfeited the trust we'd need to allow them to police themselves. -
John Oliver's takedown of SCOTUS ethics
Hodad replied to Hodad's topic in Federal Politics in the United States
Lol. As a pathological liar yourself, I'm not sure your offered opinion counts for anything. Meanwhile, Oliver is a respected journalist and his HBO show has earned many millions of dollars for the network while collecting 28 Emmy awards and 2 Peabody awards, among the show's many other accolades. -- That's 28 more Emmys than and 2 more Peabody awards than the entire Fox "news" network. BTW. (That's right, Fox News has no awards for journalism, because they don't practice journalism.) But Fox does have have something that Oliver's little show doesn't: multiple defamation judgements stemming from their many high-profile lies. So, you should probably apply some prudence when throwing around the term "liar." I know your knee-jerk reaction to any respected media source is to blindly attack it, (because it's not Fox or some random YouTuber) but that's simply not how the rational people of the world think. -
John Oliver's takedown of SCOTUS ethics

I would think most intelligent people should care, but certainly many millions of people. He's really an astute critic of society, politics and the media. The fact that he couches sharp commentary in comedy is a bonus, because it's usually a laugh or cry situation.
