Of course the state has its problems, but it is America’s economic powerhouse, by a long shot. And, as the first post in this thread makes abundantly clear, California has an immensely better university system than Florida, from the socialist UC schools at Berkeley, LA, San Francisco, San Diego and Santa Barbara, to the elite private schools like CalTech and Stanford. California’s best schools are only rivaled in academic excellence by the very best of the Ivy League schools, and Florida’s schools are nowhere near them. It’s a simple fact.
