The Liberals are lying about fixing immigration
I am Groot replied to I am Groot's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Where should Canada's immigrants come from? 🔴Sub‑Saharan Africa: Contribution per migrant: -$730k Welfare usage share: 65% Crime index rank: 6.8 Literacy rate: 68% IQ: 70 🔴Caribbean: Contribution per migrant: -$675k Welfare usage share: 58% Crime index rank: 6.1 Literacy rate: 89% IQ: 75 🔴Central & North Africa: Contribution per migrant: -$700k Welfare usage share: 50% Crime index rank: 4.3 Literacy rate: 78% IQ: 88 🔴Middle East: Contribution per migrant: -$624k Welfare usage share: 45% Crime index rank: 4.9 Literacy rate: 80% IQ: 87 🔴Latin America: Contribution per migrant: -$271k Welfare usage share: 42% Crime index rank: 5.7 Literacy rate: 93% IQ: 88 🟡Asia: Contribution per migrant: +$360k Welfare usage share: 35% Crime index rank: 3.9 Literacy rate: 80% IQ: 95 🟢Oceania: Contribution per migrant: +$476k Welfare usage share: 20% Crime index rank: 3.2 Literacy rate: 98% IQ: 100 🟢Scandinavia: Contribution per migrant: +$557k Welfare usage share: 22% Crime index rank: 2.1 Literacy rate: 99% IQ: 101 🟢North America: Contribution per migrant: +$573k Welfare usage share: 18% Crime index rank: 3.6 Literacy rate: 98% IQ: 99 🟢Japan: Contribution per migrant: +$525k Welfare usage share: 8% Crime index rank: 1.5 Literacy rate: 99% IQ: 105 Grok check The fiscal numbers (e.g., Sub-Saharan Africa ~-$730k lifetime net) closely match the 2024 IZA Netherlands study (DP 17569) on discounted lifetime contributions by origin region and entry motive in their welfare system. Non-Western/low-skill groups often show net costs due to lower employment/taxes vs. benefits. US CIS reports align on higher welfare use for Sub-Saharan/Caribbean/Middle East origins (40-65%+ household rates) vs. Asia/Europe. IQ estimates (Sub-Saharan ~70, Japan ~105) match Lynn/Becker and recent meta-analyses like World Population Review. Literacy and crime patterns track UNESCO/global indices. These are group averages from specific studies/contexts—individual outcomes vary widely with skills, culture, and policy. Not all immigrants are equal on these metrics. -
I would rather have a million Lebanese Christians come over than 100k Lebanese Musilms. The Christians will adapt and integrate. The Muslims, too many of them, simply won't and aren't. People cling to these religions. They're not like Westerners who, for the most part, take their religion in buffet style, ignoring the more distasteful elements. The third world takes it SERIOUSLY. And Muslims and Sikhs especially do. What I'm saying is it's not skin colour except that is an indication of culture and values. Or as others have said before - Would you like to live in Pakistan or Afghanistan or India? If not, then why do you want to bring that here? Why are we importing ignorant, backward people from corrupt cultures who will cost us a fortune in social welfare and threaten the safety of our society?

You cannot possibly know that. Some will, sure, but a lot can be replaced. There are already drone machines that will dig holes in the ground according to preset directions. Prefab housing made in factories. It's going to expand rapidly. Most everything from dump trucks to bulldozers can be run on automated programs. And soon will be. Doordash will be replaced by drones. There are hotels in Japan with self-check-in. No human interaction. Add in an AI screen for questions and presto. Is it your belief that the quality of immgirants has gotten better since then? Because almost everyone seems to be suggesting the quality has markedly deteriorated. That being the case, why do you imagine things would be better today? Why do you believe it would be so much better than in Europe? And I also posted a thing from Toronto Public Housing showing most of the people there are immigrants. Don't give me an AI overview when I can bloody see who's working as taxi drivers, as doordash drivers, as lowest level security guards, and other minimum wage jobs. When I can see who's crowding into food banks and who's crowding into public housing. When I can see the brown faces of criminals in the papers every day.
-
This is from Toronto's public housing. Only a quarter of those in public housing are white. According to Stats Canada, based on the 2016 census, 80+% of visible minorities are immigrants. Most of the remainder are their children. That number is certainly higher now.

You are assuming those jobs will even be there. I have no such confidence. Robots and AI will soon take over all retail jobs, just to start, from stocking shelves to watching over people and recording their purchases. They'll be able to take over a lot of construction jobs, too. To say nothing of driving and delivery jobs. And that's just at the low end. They're already displacing accountants and software engineers. They're doing away with a lot of junior lawyers and even more administrators. Neither is immigration. We need to train our own. There are more than sufficient qualified applicants for every nursing school and medical school opening. We need to expand the schools. You know what most of those coming in under the skilled trades are 'skilled' at? Cooking. I said the majority of people here. I'm counting the foreign workers/students and the millions who overstayed their visas who are not leaving and who I expect the government to eventually just give permanent resident status to. You know our government does its best not to give us any information like that. But t he people coming here are largely the same as those coming into Europe, and the data from places like the UK, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Germany, etc., are pretty damned clear, especially for those who arrived from Muslim countries. Every now and then some data does get out from Canada, though. This is way out of date. And the quality of those coming to Canada plummeted in the last fifteen years, but even so, it does demonstrate it's not just a guess.

Yes, I can see Google didn't put much effort into it. These are stale arguments that never stood up to much inspection. A declining birthrate? Yeah? So what? Birth rates hae declined at other points in time. We have too many people in this country as it is. Shortage of workers? At the rate AI and robotics are going we're going to have a massive surplus of workers before too long. Especially among the unskilled and semi skilled that the Liberals are bringing in. Besides, stop the immigration, or massively cut it, and the cost of housing drops and wages rise, and presto, young Canadians have more economic security and are more likely to start families. Besides, if you think the only way to expand the economy is to jam in more people that's just a ponzi scheme that is doomed to faile eventually. This is a great time to get off that track as AI and robotics improve dramatically. The majority of people in this country now were not born here. As the Liberals continue to pour in more people from places in the world with Low IQs and backward social habits and values, things are only going to get worse. Two thirds of the people in public housing are foreign born. Most of those showing up at food banks are foreigners. I wouldn't be surprised if most of those on welfare are foreign born too. We are importing poor people, giving them quicky citizenship, and watching them vote in great numbers for whatever political party offers them the most free stuff. Which is how the Liberals keep getting elected.

I don't know who 'you people' are but I assure you, I am not them.

There is no evidence we need immigrants to support our economy. And certainly not in the numbers were are getting. it increases overall GDP, which does nothing helpful for the country or its people, but does serve to falsly suggest that the country's economy is growing. I have never seen Carny answer a question direcly and he's the bloody PM. You might think everything is peachy and wonderful in Canuckistan, but a lot of Canadians don't, and he's their voice.

A. There's a difference between immigrants and foreign workers. B. She was looking for skilled immigrants, not the mouth breathing goat herders the Liberals have been bringing over. C. Whatever she said two years ago has nothing to do with the facts she gave out in the talk. I'm not pushing her as a great statesman. Insult her all you want. It's the facts that concern me. Foreign workers use scarce healthcare and housing resources, deprive young Canadians of work, and lower wages. Who benefits? Employers wanting cheap, obedient labour.
-
Alberta calculates that foreign workers cost us ten times more in government spending than they pay in taxes. This is from hospital visits for them and their family, education for foreign worker's kids, child tax benefits they recieve, etc. Foreign workers damage the social structure of the country by making it hard for young Canadians to find first jobs, depress wages, and are also a heavy tax burden. https://x.com/TristinHopper/status/2047511575247061103?s=20

The Liberals are lying about fixing immigration

You are a dog's turd. And you shrank away from answering why you are so fanatically devoted to importing arch conservative religious extremists. Do you hate women and gays that much? -

There are no good universities in Canada. And none is going to cancel a nursing program because of foreigners not coming unless all it trained was foreigners. Which would be a shocking betrayal of Canada since so many Canadians want to take those courses. No, just demaning those who are far right religious freaks not be brought in. What is with your infatuation with far right religious freaks anyway? -

Until they stop letting hundreds of thousands of dysfunctional 3rd world savages into my country to live their lives on welfare when they're not raping girls I'll accuse them of lying about fixing things. -
Regulations are choking Canada's economy
I am Groot replied to I am Groot's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Do you lefties not recognize that there is a midpoint between a new copper mine taking 18-25 years to work its way through all the studies, regulations, hearings and lawsuits to get permission to start operating, and having ZERO regulations? -
The problem is that the Muslim faith does neither of those things. And has been trying to annihilate every other religion for the last fourteen hundred years. The pope ought to be aware of that. The walls around the Vatican were built to stop Muslims, after all. He did not say a thing to condemn Iran. In fact, he went to Algeria to talk about peaceful coexistence with Muslims and how Muslims and Christians can be friends - in a land where Christians have been genocided or ethnically cleansed. Then he went on to suggest Lebanon (!) was a good example of coexistence, ignoring that Lebanon was a peaceful Christian nation until the importation of more and more Muslims, who then attacked the Christians and sought to make Lebanon an Islamic state. Both sides remain heavily armed, and Lebanon's deteriorating economic circumstances come because they can't agree on anything, much less proper governance.

The war against Iran is entirely legal under international law. Killing civilians by accident or incidental to an attack on a legitimate target is also not a war crime. Iran's former president said that as soon as Iran gets nuclear weapons it must use them against Israel. He said that while milliosn of Muslims may die in the retaliation, they will go to heaven as martyrs, and Islam will easily survive because it is spread out so far, but Israel, a small country, will die. By his calculation, that made it a big win for Islam.

Really? How often does Israel attack Jordan and Egypt, who are its main neighbors? Never. Why not? Gee. Maybe it's because neither country attacks Israel nor allows their territory to be used by groups that attack Israel? Could that POSSIBLY be it?! Israel has no interest in Iran other than the fact Iran has been sponsoring, guiding, arming and directing terrorist attacks on it for forty years and has repeatedly vowed to destroy it.

Regulations are choking Canada's economy
I am Groot replied to I am Groot's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
Why do I bring immigration into this? Because as we have expanded the number of immigrants we have lowered the quality. Immigrant economic outcomes have been steadily detiorating. They were deteriorating even in 2016, but have gotten much worse now. Refugees are even worse. Again, Canada prefers not to give us much information on this, but the people we're taking in aren't any different than what Europeans are taking in. -

Bullshit. Stop feeding off the government paid media. Canada's economic downturn has been underway long before Trump became president. Our productivity lag, our steady fall in GDP per person, our steadily worsening government budget overruns have all been the product of homegrown policies. Not all those policies came from Trudeau. Some predated him, going all the way back to the 1980s. Every chart you look at shows our deterioration starting well before Trump was president even the first time. It greatly accelerated starting in 2015 due to the proliferation of industry killing policies by the Liberal government. Tweak? No. I'm thinking more like taking a chainsaw to the regulations. We also need a big change in policies that are built around the government solving every problem in life. Government has to be hugely downsized, and not just at the federal level. We added a MILLION new public sector workers in the last decade! All of them feeding off taxes. Nearly half of ecverything a middle class person makes no goes to government. That has to be cut. We need to complely end the acceptance of refugees, who are, overall, a massive cost to government budgets, nearly completely halt immigration, and completely halt, except for agriculture, foreign workers. We also need to stop allowing foreign students to work here or bring their families over. -
A good roundup of the main reason for Canada's deteriorating economic situation. he World Bank’s Business Ready assessment of 101 countries captures the extent of the problem. On the regulatory framework metric—the rules businesses must actually navigate—Canada ranks 33rd, closer to China than to the United States, which ranks fifth. Drill into the OECD subset, and the picture worsens. As Alicia Planincic reported, Canada earns D grades in taxation, international trade, and business location, and fails outright on market competition with a score of just 49 out of 100. On business location—the rules governing land acquisition, property transfers, and building permits—Canada ranks dead last among 25 OECD peers. The U.S. scored 94 out of 100. Canada scored 63. The OECD Product Market Regulation indicators confirm a troubling trajectory. Canada’s standing has deteriorated from 10th in 1998 to 26th in 2023, with particularly poor rankings on administrative burden (32nd), licensing (36th), foreign investment openness (40th), and governance of state-owned enterprises (40th). https://thehub.ca/2026/04/16/how-canadas-economy-is-choking-from-federal-regulations-7-graphs/
