What are you asking me to prove? He has been to many meetings with world leaders and does not get the "press" he used to. He does not get the attention he used to. To answer your question, being a Trudeau hater does not put you on the fringe at all. So there is no satisfaction to be had. Trudeau has proven himself to be more self absorbed than a leader for this country. His stature amongst the world leader has fallen to very low levels and by doing so, he has dragged Canada and Canada's reputation with him. I did not vote for him last election, I voted conservative knowing full well that the conservative leader was unworthy but, better tan NDP or liberal. In my opinion, Trudeau won by default and Canadians had very little choice. Yes, he seems to be hated right now but the closer we get to the next election, the more he will schmooze, give things and be back on the liked list. Unfortunately, Pierre Poliwhatever seems the front runner on the Con side but to me, he is just blowing smoke up everyones arse and has no real vision. You cannot claim to be a leader when all you do is throw stones at the opposition and that is all Pierre does (in his leadership campaign and at Trudeau).

And the WEF is also a forum. The UN is not a forum, it is a nofficaly organization that Canad a and most of the worlds nations have signed up for. Not a forum in any sense. As I mentioned, Canada is not a manufacturing country, we are a resource supplier. We need to belong to those organizations to get products we need to function and to survive. How can Canada give away sovereignty without being conquered or losing a war to someone? By making trade agreements for our needs? Or by participating on organizations that may be beneficial to us? That attending forums that may provide ideas? That is not giving away sovereignty, that is strengthening and solidifying our sovereignty. Do you have a better more viable way? .

Not paying attention to what? Every leader of every country has their own issues to resolve. The WEF is a forum to share ideas and ideology. Like I said, it has a philosophy, not regulations, polices or. procedures that need or are required to follow. Yes, and at times, mine are overloaded, as I said. The price of gas is the only commodity that changes on a daily basis as opposed to all other on the futures market. Why? Witness the war in Ukraine where grain, gas and other commodities prices shoot up world wide or a hurricane in Louisiana shutting down refiners and Canada's gas prices go through the roof. China bans Canadian products and prices go up instead of selling surplus in Canada and our prices go down. The unfortunate situation is that Canada is not an economic force, is not a manufacturing country and only exports resources and therefore is very much beholding to what the World is wanting and doing. So, is WEF the source of our poor economy or are we suffering a self inflicted wound?

My senses are overloaded and sometimes just numb. What I want to believe is not something you may want to believe. Thing is, what we want to believe is up to us, individually. The river cruise ships have very shallow hulls. (they are on a Scenic cruise). We did Budapest to Amsterdam several years ago and the Danube, Main and, Rhine were so low in places that we had to change ships 3 times. We got off and changed ships with folks that were going in the other direction. My Wife said that the vintners are quite pleased with the heat as it apparently stresses the vines and makes for better grapes hence, better wine. Go figure. The Rhone is OK for now. They will easily make it all the way. Transport barges have a much deeper hull and displacement, especially when loaded.

My Wife and her best friend are in the south of France on a river cruise from Marseilles to Lyon. It is so hot there that they have reduced all the daily tours to from 8 AM to noon. They go back to the ship at noon. They have had several evening dinner outings in Chateaus cancelled because there is no air conditioning. They were told they would be getting money back for the inconvenience and missed tours and events. Europe is burning up.

OK. I am very open to "technology, progress and solutions". Please explain to me how any of those 3 will be helped by banning certain plastics in Canada by the end of this year (topic)? What technology will supplant the plastics? What progress is being made and in what capacity? What solutions are being presented except to ban certain plastics that are not even the biggest users of plastic? Not being aggressive but these are very valid questions. Political correctness will not solve a problem as it is, at best, only public relations hype. "sale of plastic bags and takeout containers" and " plastic cutlery and stir sticks will also be prohibited at that time. Plastic flexible straws " does what in the scale of plastic usage. Don't say it is a start. That is like saying Canadas' carbon tax is a start for world climate change when Canada is one of the smallest producers of atmospheric carbon. Oh and, I am very much in favour of banning plastics. I have personally seen the shit that is in the oceans and the damage it does. Are you aware that the biggest ocean pollution item is cigarette filters? Why don't we ban them? If you are goign to ban plastics, start with things that have real impact like packaging.
