  1. Nope did not. Show me where.
  2. Old, old news (2012). Time to move on. Besides you know that Bev Oda was a conservative minister. Back in October trump was just a politician making threats and telling lies every day. No one, including you ,knew what was coming down the pike. His own party members are shook up by his actions. You really are not thinking straight. Calling an election now will leave no one to fight for us. Ya think trump will put a pause on his crap while we sort out who to fight with him?? LOL
  3. Don't know but I am glad a Canadian PM (or any politician ) is going to gather support....or even make deal to be more of a trade partner. Yes, I am saying running in an election and trying to deal with Trump and a trade war is too much to do either proper justice.. How can the PM or his cabinet run their campaigns and deal with Tyrant Trump at the same time? I disagree, we cannot afford to be kicked around and in the nuts by Trump for another 2 or so months it takes for the election to run it's course. Too many Canadians can suffer greatly in the next few months and may not be able to recover. You OK to stop all actions for that time and let trump run us over??
  4. Keep up. Carney has renounced all but his Canadian citizenship
  5. Yes, back in 2015 . When he was over there he adopted a European position and hoping he can sell that to them. He made friends and had colleagues over there and is now calling in what he can. He is from Ft Smith NWT and raised in Edmonton. I am quite sure PP has no connections or friends or colleagues he can count on it Europe....Let alone in the US.
  6. Might be but if one thinks about it....it is a very wise move. Find out who in the world supports you (Canada as opposed to a political party) and go into an election with some strength. People may want change but if you elect the wrong person, then you have committed Canada to an extended trade war. Also, if you stop acting on the trade war now, you just give an opportunity to your enemy take full advantage of your disarray. As I said, if you go into a as much as a 2 month election without any of the ministers or PM fighting for your position you are doomed to the fate you allow. If you believe all politicians should fight for their seats instead of fighting for Canada, well, you are blinded by your partisanship and shifted Canada to the back seat. I am not saying in any way we do not need an election but, lets take care of one crisis before making another.
  7. He is going to Europe to see who our friends are before confronting trump Very wise move. Right, lets have a federal election for 36 to 51 days while Trump hammers us day in and day out while we wallow in a trade war. Gives him up to 2 more months to do what he wants without any backlash or counters from us. Cannot fight a war if the generals are all out glad handing and campaigning. Under our laws, he does not have to be elected to be PM. Has happened before.
  8. It was Jeff Daniels from the show "the Newsroom" that had the best speech ever...and he was a Republican in the tv show. He blows a lot of Trumps claims out of the water way back in 2015.
  9. OMG!!!! You said "the whole idea that Canada is going to divorce itself from America is obviously a pipe dream, the politicians at least seem to recognize this reality, other than the kooks in the NDP that is" I said " And many on this forum too LOL " About the kooks on this forum too. WTF are you going on about ???
  10. Gawd!!! My comment was to you saying "he politicians at least seem to recognize this reality, other than the kooks in the NDP that is". Once again your response is nonsensical and nothing to do with the comment.
  11. We should have learned something from the huge cost of maintaining, repairing, overhauling and/or buying parts etc from the experience of the CH149 Cormorant from England/Italy (Agusta/Westland) and the soon to be in service CC-295 Kingfisher from CASA in Spain. No one in Canada want so be (or can afford to set up for such small fleets)a service centre for the components of these aircraft. So, we have to continually ship them to Europe and back. While the anti American sentiment is rampant, the F35 is a far superior aircraft than the others and it's proximity to us as well as us having certain capability in Mirabel and Pratt &. Whitney in the Montreal area only makes sense. Oh and the already $19 billion spent on development makes the F35 the only real option.
  12. Again...the excise tax has been in effect since 1987.
  13. Nope, it sure ain't now that we know your King is Trump LOL Personally, the one that decides to abolish dual citizenship gets my vote. You are either one or the other, not both.
  14. And he is renouncing all but the Canadian one. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/mark-carney-renounce-citizenship-1.7472421 You are claiming to be American.... God save the King ....meaning the self proclaimed one ....Trump??? LOL.
  15. Canada never told you to FO becasue you are a WASP. Maybe it told you to FO because of the dick you are and keep on claiming Canada is British and posting all those BS videos??? LOL
  16. Oh? When did I say that??? I think you are misquoting. And exactly where did I say you did??
  17. But there are conservatives that have sympathy and agree with much of trump said....until recently when he slapped us in the face.
  18. Yes, you said "So then the only answer according to you and Exflyer is for Canada to give up and become 51st state as soon as possible." when neither I nor doogie said or insinuated any of that. Yes you are pessimistic. Nothing seems to be OK with you and your posts in this thread. We do have a position of strength but seemingly do not want to use it..... yet. We can prove the falsehoods being said and we have the hammer on electricity and oil but are hesitant or unwilling or unable to use it. Stronger?
  19. Not going to argue with you but I am much more optimistic than your doom and gloom outlook. Enjoy your misery
  20. Don't be so dramatic LOL Smell reality. We have done this to ourselves and the hole we dug is extremely deep. Sure, you (and others) can say anything you want but you for sure do not understand or can grasp what is realistic and what is pie in the sky fantasy. Indigenous and Quebecers are also only self serving. Indigenous teat suckers since day one and Quebecer only think of nothing but themselves. They could help Canada by using their US electricity exports as a threat but they have said they will not. Canada has not been "air, transport, energy, and agriculture innovator in the past". Canada has participated, been a partner but has not accomplished much on it's own. It has only exported military equipment during war times when all factories reverted to making war supplies We are a resource rich country that exports raw material and imports finished product back. We have (had) smart people but they went where they were being paid for their knowledge and inovativness. I served this country as a career and I am very aware and knowledgeable about our capacity and ability. Would I like us to do better and be better? For sure. Am I optimistic that our society would delve into areas that make us better and more independent? Not sure... as long as they don't have to give anything up ...maybe but who will cough up the dollars to make it happen? Remember the old expression "the governemtn cannot give anyone anything unless it first takes from someone else". See, you put false words into others mouthes Canadians have always compromised and we will continue to do so.
  21. What "spare industrial capacity" do we have in Canada? Easy philosophical thing to say but, in reality it means zero. 1. High speed rail??? In Canada? What northern country has high speed rail?? Oh, non? Maybe there is a reason And we need the electric capacity and infrastructure. LOL 2. We have zero high technology business , engineering capability, design ability to manufacture state of the art military equipment. 3. We have provinces that will not allow pipelines thought it's territory (BC and Quebec). The feds had to take over the LNG pipeline in BC but the indigenous are still protesting. 4. You realize refineries don't just pop up, they can take decades to build and ...well, we Canadians are a bunch of NIMBY's. 5. How can you incentivize companies when they cannot make products to compete. Our wage and benefit and regulations and material cost do not make it profitable for companies. That is why they left Canada. Anyway, nice to philosophize LOL
  22. Funny how a person like Mulcair has become "special" but when he was leader, his party was nearly wiped out. He was only leader for 5 years and official opposition for 3. I guess we forget he lost a non confidence vote within his own party and stepped down.
  23. Not siding with liberals in any way but, perhaps a non politician can bring newness to that table?? Most politicians use name/credentials to get in and voters vote based on name/credentials.
