There's many factions within the party and the platform is an exchange of ideas that ultimately leads to progress and implementation of the best way forward. Just imagine what the trillions of dollars both parties sent to Iraq or now the Ukraine could do to repair infrastructure at home and deal with the opioid crisis. That's basically the populist wing. The talking heads on PBS last night brought up they didn't know what the Republican platform is. I would submit this is because the Democrats act much like a cult. Everything is top down with Pelosi and Schumer's funders treated like God's The Republicans are primarily a free speech party and exchange of ideas. Like any successful business, you need people who push back and disrupt. That's how Trump runs his party where conflict is actually a good thing as it brings out the best path forward. So that is why these political pundits hate it because they want everyone in uniform. They dont want you to challenge the old guard ideas like whether or not NAFTA or NATO are good things for America; the sacred cows of the old guards.
