Both I would expect. I would think Russia will maintain Crimea and the eastern provinces, and Ukraine will maintain everything west of that. I also expect that Russia will insist on Ukraine being neutral. What do you expect...realistically.?

Complete defeat would be the annulment of Ukraine as an independent country. I've never heard the Russians call for that. And again...within the realm of reality...do you really think Russia is going to just withdraw and leave the annexed lands to Ukraine?
