  1. Well I am trying to point out, the idea of choice is relative based on both outcomes. For example: work at this factory or die, I believe is not a choice, work at this factory or receive a physical beating every day, still not a choice. If one of the outcomes is the threat of force or death, it is not a choice.
  2. That is why I am asking what happens if someone does not wear a mask?
  3. I don't think you can see a doctor or enter a clinic without a mask these days.
  4. Since 80% of the ICU is covid patients, would it be okay to have asymptomatic staff, care for symptomatic covid patients? Fundamentally they have the same issue, but are in a different health state. This could even be applied to the unvaccinated staff. Also staff that are covid clear care for patients who are covid clear.
  5. Indeed. The people responsible need a distraction and a blame shift. The Unvaccinated appear to be that distraction.
  6. I would need a cite and relevant information to agree or disagree with that idea.
  7. We have been down this road before Aristides, the public should be able to view all data and make their own decisions irrelevant of their qualifications. All the best.
  8. This is based on what exactly? The political end game is usually about power. Most of these measures that were taken can be tailored to other "critical" issues plaguing the planet.
  9. "living" meaning existing. Semantics aside, to answer your question, I am not aware of COVID deniers.
  10. Most of the population is still following. If people have food, shelter and entertainment, the pressures will not rise. I do agree that there has been a switch with millennial and gen z into questioning the measures and mandates taken. Interestingly enough the younger generation is more fed up with the regulations than the older generation. Those responsible do need a "they made us end the restrictions" type of deal.
  11. What is a COVID denier? Someone who thinks covid does not exist as a living virus?
  12. Let's say you are right. I do not see a future where the unvaccinated will be thanked or even considered, maybe in a documentary, not unlike the social dilemma. ( no offence)
  13. Then lets be serious. Given it has nothing to do with science of the matter, and it is political, how does this end without 100% vaccination?
  14. You mentioned see the willing carriers, and what am I supposed to take away from this article?
  15. I don't think Covid "can" end without 99% vaccination status or even 100%, for political reasons.
  16. I want raw data so hopefully I can come to the same conclusion, this way I know exactly why I hold a stance and can discuss using the raw data. "so why only skepticism of official sources and not the wing nut ones others post here?" - Why bother? wing nut posts are silly and can just be ignored unless they point to official data. If you have noticed I try to only post official data. I would also say that official data requires a higher level of accuracy to their statement, because most people trust their conclusions and their records. If an official source fails to provide accurate statements or fails to provide correct recommendations, the public will distrust official sources.
  17. Yes it is sloppy science or not science. The issue at this point is there is no control group, there are those that had covid, those without a vaccine and those with covid and those with a vaccine. Although I am sure someone can bring up the ethical issue with having a control group in a society.
  18. So all it means is humanity is capable of morality and self-fulfillment. No it does not mean anything goes, what are the fundamentals of secular humanism that state "anything goes"?
  19. If you mean by pure mass of data numbers, than I could see a trend. It still does not provide clarity on how is it determined that what is experienced is due to the "vaccine". For example right after the vaccine I had sever issues for 2 weeks, is it correlated, possibly, but I was not in a controlled environment. If it happens again right after the vaccine I would be less skeptical. Still there may be other factors. Hence why I think questions should be asked and more data allocated properly.
  20. Like? I am skeptical of direct correlation conclusions without visible available evidence, irrelevant of the source.
  21. If we want to discuss this we first must agree to a formal definition of humanism. Would this be agreeable? https://www.humanistcanada.ca/about/humanism/
