People like myata go on about shortages, wasted resources and inefficiencies in the health care system. The average stay for a Covid patient in ICU is 21 days and the average cost is $51,000. The great majority of them are unvaccinated. Maybe the unvaccinated who are complaining about the system should take some accountability for their own bent ideology and their willingness to waste resources and overtax the system even further.

No one has a carte blanch to do anything to your body. No one is responsible for the consequences of your decisions except you. However, others may be made part of the consequences of your decisions and you can’t avoid any consequences of that by simply claiming, my body, my choice, because your choice has a direct effect on others.

I’m not suggesting we vaccinate anyone against their will, I’m just sick of them whining about having to deal with the consequences of their decisions. Yes we did have a problem with a shortage of beds and doctors which is being compounded by those who will not get vaccinated. They need to be held accountable for that.

US, UK, Australia in security pact against China. Canada left out

Would the Americans keep them out of our Arctic and it’s waters? This is a country that actually needs submarines that can operate for extended periods under ice. We also need real warships that can operate in ice, unlike the patrol ships armed with pop guns like the ones we are building. -

Sure but there is no way the Soviets would have launched with that kind of inferiority. Back then, missiles also only carried single warheads not multiple warheads like today. The US had an even bigger superiority when it came to manned bombers. -

The Soviets had far fewer nukes than they were letting on. They had 75 ICBM's at the most. The US had 170. -

Australia has no choice but to build up its capability because they have no big brother next door to look after them. They don't have to be able to defeat China, just prickly enough to not be worth China's trouble. You can beat us but it will really cost you. That's the kind of military Canada should be aspiring too. -
Ontario has three times the population of Ontario. They may have a better system but it is a national system with a small population, not a balkanized provincial system like Canada. Finland is still experiencing an increase of hospitalizations and personnel shortage with the fourth wave, same as everyone else. https://yle.fi/uutiset/osasto/news/finland_looks_to_boost_icu_capacity_as_infections_rise/11583228https://www.helsinkitimes.fi/finland/news-in-brief/19158-finland-s-nursing-shortage-leads-to-decrease-in-hospital-beds.html

That's why China won't sink US ships and why nukes weren't used in Viet Nam. McArthur wanted to nuke North Korea too. MAD still applies. Khrushchev cratered. The Soviets were badly outgunned, Kennedy knew it and called his bluff. -

With a population of 5 million, New Zealand's ability to defend itself is very limited. It would be like BC trying to build its own military.
