U.N. says humans have two years to save the world

Won't need one if they are right. -
Canada, NATO, de Gaulle, Poilievre
Aristides replied to August1991's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
WW1 was one of the results of the Franco Prussian war which also ended Napoleon III's reign. There was a period of peace because there was no dominant power on the European continent between the fall of Napoleon Bonaparte and the rise of a unified Germany. Britain was a maritime power with a small army compared to continental countries that was mostly built for colonial duties. No Western European country has been attacked by an outsider since the formation of NATO because it commits them to defend each other if one of them is attacked. This is the major difference between European NATO and the complicated alliances that resulted in countries being sucked into WW1. -

No they didn’t. There was just a vacuum between the fall of Napoleon and the rise of Prussia and a united Germany. Crimean War. Prussian Austria war, Franco Prussian War. -
So humans f*cking up the planet is God's will. That's a philosophy only a masochist could have.d If God intended us to be in his (its) image, he must be one unhappy camper. We aren't even capable of saving ourselves from ourselves. Let's keep rolling coal until the place incinerates itself. God's will.

You say it is a complex subject but rely on something as simplistic as faith to explain it. That's just plain lazy. Rather than actually question, you write it off as an act of God. How convenient. Faith by definition is a belief in something that cannot be proved. Science is based on observation and measurements, it is continually being challenged, questioned and revised as new evidence is found. Faith on the other hand depends on never being questioned or challenged in order to survive.

KEEP THOSE VACCINE DEATHS QUIET!

Ah, so your personal experiences are more valid than what practising respirologists are finding in the real world. Why am I not surprised. -

People can identify however they want but women shouldn't have to compete against biological males in women's sport.

A strong NATO is the reason Europe has had the longest period of peace in its history. Until Putin attacked a non member of NATO, that is. -
It's unfortunate basic high school science is beyond you. Yes, water vapour is a greenhouse gas but it continuously cycles and only remains in the atmosphere for days instead of accumulating for years or decades like other greenhouse gases like CO2, methane and nitrous oxide. You also don't seem to be able to make the connection between carbon and other GHG caused warming and the amount of water in the atmosphere. Most of the additional heat is being absorbed by the world's oceans. As they become warmer, evaporation rates increase and the warmer air is capable of absorbing that water increasing the amount of water vapour in the air. You say it is a complex thing and at the same time try to reduce it to fit your own simplistic views.

Wow, you are a freaking genius to know all that about a virus no one had ever seen before. Who needs scientists when we have you. -

"People were saying" That's not a basis to plan anything. You didn't know shit back in 2020 so don't keep claiming you did. -

Yes, everything you say about from 2020 is hindsight. The fact is, no one knew where we were headed at the time and health care professionals had to assume a worst case scenario. They should always assume a worst case scenario when dealing with something new and unknown. -

Again, your exceptional 20/20 hindsight is awe inspiring
