  1. TBF unless you are Inuit, Métis or First Nations you are all foreigners.
  2. That would be Thatcher and Reagan. The mother and father of globalisation. ''There is no alternative'' as Maggie famously pronounced on he subject.
  3. I don't actually think it is true. The firm wouldn't leak anything so big. It's just Trump flapping his lips again.
  4. Seems I was not the only person who thought the US joining the commonwealth was a good idea.
  5. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/trump-commonwealth-offer-us-member-b2719470.html Nearly 250 years after America declared independence from Great Britain, President Donald Trump suggested he was open to taking a small step back towards the warm embrace of the British monarchy after a media outlet reported that King Charles III intends to extend an offer for the United States to join the Commonwealth of Nations.
  6. Putin making unacceptable demands. No further foreign military aid to Ukraine. An end to military intelligence being given to Ukraine. Not looking likely that a full ceasefire will come any time soon. No threats of additional sanctions on Russia from Agent Orange. Not even tariffs.
  7. Hey, as an off grid eco-Nazi I crave a recession. Growth is unsustainable.
  8. Chaos is also chaos. Trump's trade wars may well be leading the world into a recession.
  9. Quite. Trump always exaggerates/lies about numbers. He claims the US has sent $350 billion to Ukraine when the actual figure is around $120 billion.
  10. Really? More than Mexicans, Hondurans, Venezuelans, Syrians, Afghans? At least Canadians are mostly white European heritage.
  11. Tenuous link. If you believe Trump it's because Canada has somehow ripped off the US for $200 billion. He just hates any country the US has a trade deficit with.
  12. Senior Service gets the big bucks, same as it ever was. Although they don't have enough support ships or aircraft to operate 2 independent carrier groups. Meanwhile, we now have the smallest army in over 200 years.
  13. I've checked several sources which all say £6.1 billion for both. Today's exchange rate is 54p to the dollar so $12 billion for both is about right. ETA if you still think Dougie is a pretend military expert then you have not been paying attention.
  14. That's crazy. Although that doesn't include the price of the aircraft. Nor are they nuclear powered like US and French carriers.
  15. As far as I can tell they are just making it more expensive for themselves to buy Canadian goods during a cost of living crisis.
