  1. I have made no claims, all I did was ask you for a syllogism based on the fact you invoked logic. But it seems obvious to me that you're looking to argue and not present actual arguments. So I'll let you argue with the other trolls here Take care
  2. I don't need to be here you're literally arguing with yourself. But since you have no real arguments I'll leave you to your "logic" You think a YouTube video is equivalent to stating an argument in formal logic? Sad
  3. Ya because Aristotle was degenerate , with a warped sense of thinking.
  4. Still waiting on the "logic" behind this proposition in a syllogism
  5. That was your argument, I said it was fallacious You're now arguing against your own "logic".
  6. This was a conversation about logic (still waiting on that original syllogism) And yes, being a good basketball player follows from being tall, the same way being a good business man follows from having money, they don't. Both are non sequiturs. I'm not making this political, you are because logic doesn't care about your political philosophy. Seems to me you're the only one getting your "feelings hurt" Can you provide a rational argument or not?
  7. Ok you're obviously not able to present anything that even resembles a rational argument. I'll leave you to your ridiculous rants
  8. You're right, the same way no one would be dumb enough to think that someones bank account has anything to do with being a good business man. My example was stupid on purpose to prove a point. Your comment was still a non sequitur
  9. Again I don't disagree, but I've noticed on this forum it's almost impossible to have constructive conversations about....... Well most things. So I'm really just interested, in seeing if people can actually back up what they say and when he mentioned logic seemed like a great time to push. I was never into philosophy, until I found logic recently and how it applies to every time we communicate. Now that I've "learned" and "understand" the terminology, it's also something fun to apply to everyday conversations. I've talked myself out of certain positions because I realized my reasoning was fallacious. Logic is awesome !
  10. Though I believe all of that to be true. That's not relevant. In the same way that even bankrupting a CASINO doesn't necessarily mean he's a bad business man. But seriously a casino
  11. Here for example. This is a non sequitur, as in the premises do not follow to the conclusion. ie; Almost all great basketball players are above 6 feet tall. I am above 6 feet tall. Therefore I am a great basketball player Just because I am tall , doesn't mean I am a great basketball player, in the same way that Trumps purported wealth does not mean he has any business acumen.
  12. Provide the syllogism I requested and we can go over it.
  13. Are you able to make any arguments that aren't logical fallacies?
  14. Veiled insults? You know that wasn't a sound argument. Then I agreed with you, not only on Bidens fitness for office but I continued your logic to Trumps. So I'm not sure why you're upset
  15. I'll give you half credit (still a failing grade even in highschool), those are valid syllogisms. You obviously can't support the first premise in either, but a good try none the less. Though by your "logic" neither major party candidate for U.S. president is worthy and on that, we can agree.
  16. My guess is you're right but the attempt could be humorous
  17. First, as I often react to your posts in a negative way, I must commend you and say I couldn't agree more with you on this topic. From what I've been told by people much smarter and more informed than me,is that the way the Canada health act is currently written, allowing "official" private health care to come in would be a slippery slope to denying essential health care to the average person. *see what happens in the U.S* We do have private health care in ways though. My girlfriend broke he wrist (hair line fracture) we didn't want to sit in an emergency waiting room for 16 hours, so i found a private clinic that did everything but put the cast on( there are clinics that do that though, I just didn't know to ask) after that we went to the hospital and were fast tracked straight to orthopedics. The whole process from when we walked into the clinic, to when we left the hospital, was under 2hours and it was a 30 minute walk between the two . It cost us 480$ but we were refunded by the government for 400$ of that . Again I agree with you but I think one of the major problems is m9st people don't actually know what resources are available not just in health care either
  18. To this you wrote "It's called a logical conclusion." Since you've invoked logic, could you please write this out as a syllogism, that is both sound and valid. Cheers
  19. If that's what you need to tell yourself to support your non scientific fairy tales, go right ahead
  20. Completely off topic, but you seem to be one of the only balanced, rational people on this site. Do you know of any other forums where people don't have to resort to calling people pedophile or Nazi ? Cheers
  21. I'm not saying it's without any merit. To stick with the subject matter at hand, if you were curious as to when Darwin wrote the evolution of species, definitely check out Wikipedia. But as it's not peer-reviewed (in fact can be edited by layman) it lacks the rigour of the source material so can't be considered a reliable resource for understanding the mechanisms required for the diversity of life on the planet.
  22. Going to a "creation scientist"( which again doesn't exist) for information on evolution, is like going to an atheist for Bible study. But , thank you for admitting that you have zero interest in even trying to understand the things you proclaim are untrue
  23. Are there is the issue. Wikipedia is what you check to see who's right in a disagreement between friends not a resource for scientific discovery. Why don't you at least go on Google Scholar, type in evidence for evolution. Spend a few days reading the actual science behind evolution and not just regurgitate things you clearly don't understand ( most people don't understand things that require years of study, me included) written by people that aren't qualified on pseudo scientific websites like creation.com Again qualified means having been educated or having peer reviewed papers in the field they are speaking on. My financial advisor is a brilliant man when it comes to what to do with my money, but I don't go to him for medical advice because he's not a doctor.
