Q: What is George W. Bush's position on Roe v. Wade? A: He really doesn't give a damn how people get out of New Orleans. Lili Little, Toronto
-
I get your point, but the message in question was directed at a poster who has pointed repeated personal attacks at me and many other posters on this board. When somebody is trolling and have repeatedly proven they won't give my opinions a fair hearing I won't afford them the same respect.
-
Hopefully the crackpots see the logic in shutting their yaps. You never heard the likes of Carolyn Bennett mouthing of during an election.
-
Pick up a paper? You'd have to haul your rotund arse away from the computer screen to do that! That Jim Travers spins the ads in the worst possible light is sad. But that's ok, Travers and those of his readers who take his word as gospel will never vote Conservative anyways. Try reading somethin a little more towards the centre of the political spectrum.
-
That's where you made your mistake. Trying to formulate a logical argument with a child like mirror. His only reason for being on this site is to troll and attack people. So of course your logical refutation of his point is going to go unanswered. Thankfully it shut him up on this thread at least.

Pot - kettle. Kettle - pot.

The CPC can only hope that the Liberals would employ such a foolish tactic. Mothercorp (the CBC) does the Liberals far more good, and attracts them far more votes, with its agenda and reporting against the CPC than it hurts the Liberals with its tilt to the NDs. Keeping the CBC shut down would be a classic example of the Liberals cutting off their nose to spite their face. Here's hoping that they do it!
-
Yet again, mirror proves his ignorance. Stan actually provides evidence to support his assertion. In return mirror attacks him indirectly with nothing more to support his statement than 'everyone knows'. You sir are a prince among men.
-
I don't know what is sadder. That the NDs get so much money from unions, or that their memberships aren't outraged that their misspent dues aren't going towards actually making a difference for them.

I think this election will be much more to Harper's liking than the constant attacks on this site would indicate. The party has been much better at keeping the lunatic fringe quiet. Can anyone remember the last time some nutcase MP made a fool of himself? Grewal is fading from memory and the newest 'evidence' against the CPC is that the leader is reorganizing his office??? wtf? That's the end of Canada right there. The fall is looking ugly for the Liberals. Little Jackie Layton is bound to return to the obscurity he so rightly deserves. Kinda sad his pathetic little 19 seats were heralded as a triumph this past election. The Canadian people are sick of the constant attacks and histrionics by their political leaders. Harper has proven he has gotten the message - take a look at the TV ads in Ontario. All positive - all selling the team. It took Martin about five minutes to forget his democratic reform agenda....

They can buy shares in the company and vote at the AGMs. Hmmmm, anybody can buys shares in a company. You gotta have an in to get into a union shop in many cases. Which really is more democratic?
-
Are you saying that the NDs have given the Liberals legitimacy in the current government? What do you define as legitimacy and how are the NDs 'giving legitimacy, to the Liberals?
-
Ben, Congrats on joining the fray. You will find most posts to be thoughtful and approach issues intelligently. Alas, others will be mere attacks without much in the way of thought or maturity. It's up to you to decide which posts are which. C-17 will clear the house pretty easily if it gets brought up for a vote before the next election. The Conservatives (CPC) have been pretty quiet on this one. My vibe is because of the libertarian wing of the party. If I had to guess I would say that Harper allows a free vote on the bill if it comes up for a vote before an election. I personally hope it does because I support the bill, I don't see PM Harper re-introducing the bill if it dies on the order paper and I am pretty sure he will be the PM come the outcome of the next election.

This is your own post. It is inappropriate to call the New Democrats "freaks" and then turn around and ask whether I am baiting. While I agree that the likelihood of the NDP forming government is quite low, I think we could use more congenial terminology. It takes little effort really. My apologies. Your post is a little confusing because you are replying to me and one other poster in the reply I am quoting from. But your baiting was also inappropriate.
-
Kind of a misuse of paranoid. I would be scared as hell of an NDP government, but I trust the intelligence of the Canadian people to never let that one happen. The money the Liberals mishandled in Adscam is nothing compared to the cash PM Layton would piss away....
-
Yeah, it is uncalled for but such is life. Not as inflammatory as many of Mirror's post titles to be fair though. I actually voted for Chretien twice. Had enough of him come 2000 though. I think his most signigicant contribution that you haven't mentioned was the clarity act.
-
Care to explain that, or are you just baiting people for the sake of it?
-
Could you help me out with something here. How can you reconcile this statement with your repeated posts about the relevance of the New Democrats. The CPC currently holds more than three times as many seats in Ontario as do the NDs. The CPC almost doubled the popular vote of the NDs in Quebec. I really hope you take me off ignore and can explain this contradiction...
-
I wasn't trying to refute her point. Just trying to make a joke, and not a very funny one in hindsight.
-
Uhhh, he was in Canada for most of the year....
-
I have. Including the decima poll that showed the CPC within four points of the Libs nationally. A poll you conveniently called 'a rogue poll'. Showing both selective ignorance and true foolishness. Also seen how you haven't posted any polls released in the last two weeks or so. Any reason for that?
-
How did you know I posted something then? Don't worry though, I'll still hold you to task when you show your ongoing ingnorance in ignoring Greg's wishes.
-
Interesting blog Solberg has. Please start new threads when posting something completely off topic and unrelated to anything in the existing thread....
-
LC, To follow Greg's wishes I am going to post something a little less partisan. While I hope you are right about Harper I honestly think it is up in the air at this time. The CPC's best realistic outcome for this election is a minority government. This will only come about if Harper runs really well. What Martin does is basically irrelevant. He won't run a great campaign and is very unlikely to make a Turneresque blunder ala the 1984 debates. So it really will come down to Harper. If the changes to his team have truly been shrewd he has an honest chance at forming government. PS. mirror et. al - if you have an actualy argument to make against this OR a poll that has been published in the past week or so please respond. If it is going to be the typical attack Harper and show no respect for Greg's wishes, don't even bother...

What a f**king joke. This thread is completely misleading. Not one of the people quoted in the story are MPs. Hmmm, I know a lot of y'all don't like Harper or the CPC but there is no reason to sink to deception of this kind.
