I stand back in awe of the stupidity of the left on guns I stand back in awe of the stupidity of the right on drugs you are just using the left's idiotic anti-gun arguments against drugs and somehow don't see your own hypocrisy the same way the left uses the right's idiotic anti-drug arguments against guns and somehow can't see their own hypocrisy

your idea will make Canada less likely to change and adapt, in actually important ways it can easily get worse change for the sake of change claiming it can't get any worse than the status quo is the kind of bullshit that commies fall for FPTP is just your Capitalism it's the same utopian thinking the idea that tearing down the system will bring that utopia about because the only reason utopia doesn't exist already is the system prevents it your "logic" is communist "logic"

pandering to communists will fix Canada? that's pretty delusional that's the biggest reason the Canadian status quo sucks and you want to double down on that, while pretending to be anti-status quo? that's useful idiot shit, right thurr you overrate cooperation particularly with those who are totally unreasonable and won't cooperate with anyone who is reasonable no matter how much you cave to them, they won't cave to you the cooperation will be a one way street and it ain't the direction you want it to go the amount of naive wishful thinking that serves as the justification for your position is off the charts the road to hell is paved with good intentions you want to design a system based on Canadians being what you want them to be instead of designing a system based on who Canadians actually are and that is doomed to failure unrealistic idealism is a helluva drug

more elections PR plays to the advantage of the lefty parties the CPC is the last party who would scrap FPTP the NDP is the only party who would do it the most right leaning parties in Canada aren't going to be forming many coalitions with only 40% of the popular vote the only way they could, is to move even further to the left than they have already, to get a lefty party to join their coalition you want make Canada lean even harder to left, then PR is the way to go

Canada Must Exit Climate Agreement Immediately
Yzermandius19 replied to Zeitgeist's topic in Federal Politics in Canada
sure but that doesn't mean we should do that with a moronic tax give the government more money or control is not the solution all these fake environmentalists are just using the environment as an excuse to implement shitty leftist policies if they really cared about the environment, that wouldn't be the case therefore it's not about the environment, it's about control since any measure that doesn't give the government more control and/or more taxpayers money is dismissed as not good enough it is clear what their actual priority really is, regardless of cloaking their agenda as being about something more palatable obvious scam is obvious- 386 replies

Russia's war crimes in Ukraine.
Yzermandius19 replied to CITIZEN_2015's topic in The Rest of the World
the other countries don't want to join Russia you are the one who wants them to they will not do so willingly therefore the only way it can happen is if it is done unwillingly by war you are supporting Russian imperialism against the will of a population twice the size of Russia this will not result in peace and thriving it's not in Eastern Europe's interest to turn over the keys to Russia knock off the gaslighting -

Canada is not the Netherlands Canadians will not vote for most of their parties PR is not some big gamechanger that heavily influences how an electorate votes they will vote for the same parties they would under FPTP a few extra seats for the smaller parties is a nothingburger that won't fix anything the left will have even more power than they have now it will be worse

to be fair myata is very often not blind but on this one he's as blind about PR fixing Canada's poor governance as eyeball is about in-camera lobbying fixing Canada's poor governance at least in myata's case the solution doesn't infringe on free speech though but they both fall into the trap of assuming those changes are like waving a magic wand and all Canada's issues will be resolved when they will actually just make the situation worse

The Nazi's formed a coalition too so what? you tout coalitions like it's inherently a good thing or results in less partisanship it doesn't PR sucks you say the only way to see if it works as you claim it will is to try it but it's been tried on numerous occasions never once worked out the way you think it will and the sample size ain't small this time it will work is the same argument the Commies use whenever someone points out how it failed everytime it's a shitty argument for communism and shitty argument for PR

PR is more partisan ask the Nazi's, they were elected under PR you are championing Weimar Germany more parties in parliament doesn't equal less partisanship it equals more partisanship none of the problems you claim are unique to FPTP are unique to it none of the upsides you claim are unique to PR are unique to it and can exist in a FPTP system you make no sense you are just babbling
